I have been having issues with the multimedia audio application not updating properly. I brought this to the attention of the dealership (Stephen Wade Toyota) back on May 27, 2021. I asked them why it wasn't updating and the technician said for around $65-$120, they could fix it. Of course, this was just at the 36, 000 mile mark, so I have to pay for it. I can no longer use the hands free option in my car.
After checking online, this seems to be a very common complaint over the last two years. Why has Toyota chosen to charge customers for a software issue that they still haven't resolved after two years?
I love my car but if this is an ongoing problem, it will be my last Toyota and I will make sure that everyone knows that I will never purchase another Toyota again.
Desired outcome: I want the updates without having to pay for them. That's a pretty common theme in the software world.
