Date of incident: January 5th 2022.
My wallet was stolen sometime in late 2021 and military ID and license was used at the drive through ATM that includes interaction with the bank teller. An unidentified female provided my stolen military ID to the teller and was able to withdraw almost $5, 000.00. The issue here is that I am required to provide a word or phrase when I am on the phone with a customer service representative however, they did not require for it to be given at the drive through and proceeded to give the money without truly identifying the woman. This is unacceptable as I have been with Navy Federal Credit Union for more than 12 years and have been serving in the military for more than 10 years. I fight for our freedom and the money I am entitled to after earning just disappears with truly confirming and especially that amount of money. I called Navy Federal as I check my account on a daily basis, I found out this occurred 2 hours from where I live so I drove the next day in order to get answers from the manager.
When I get there, the manager takes my ID to the back and goes through the tapes, she comes out and asks me "did you just forget you took money out because the individual looks like you?" I was truly mind blown because why would I waste my time making the drive and what kind of question is that? I asked her if I made a police report that they could retrieve the tapes in hopes of obtaining any leads such as a license plate number or something. She told me no, they can't give tapes to anyone. I left there feeling disappointed and honestly, I am going to change banks because I could not trust a bank to hold my earnings if they are just going to willingly give it out.
Desired outcome: Protocols update/investigation/cooperation with the police
