September 5, 2015 at 0830 am... I went to purchase items for a tailgate party with my parents. I am well over the age to buy alcohol and I am disabled. It doesn't show, and I don't show it off. However, I brought my 17 and 19 year old sons with me as I knew I had to lift some things I can not lift. They put beer on the conveyor belt for me. I do not drink beer really, it is for a tailgate party tonight for my parents and their friends, who, to this date don't like my cooking. So, they asked me to bring beer. Anyhow. Walmart won't sell it to me, because I can't put it on the conveyor belt. I used my sons to lift it on there. Then, when she said she couldn't sell it because they touched it last, I lifted it and said, there, I touched it last. It actually made my back start twitching again, so I am now sitting on an ice pack again. She still wouldn't sell it to me. I obviously am not aware of whatever rule she is talking about, but common sense should be used in most cases. Also, they have many under"age" cashiers and I have no idea how they can touch it and then sell it but my boys can't "touch" it and then sell it. Walmart has lost my business. I hate being embarrassed, chastised and injured all at the same time, and that happened today. I will be letting my VA rep know, and all my disability group people know as well. I will make it known in our small town what they did and how they handled it. I know it won't put them out of business but what a smear on a small town Walmart. Disgusted.
