I went to midas to just get a simple oil change and was told that my oil pan bolt was stripped. The same midas did my previous oil change. I asked could I see what the problem was and did not see any issues, but was told that the oil pan bolt was stripped and kept spinning and the oil change couldn’t be done I asked him about the previous oil change, and he told me that the bolt could have just wear out due to age, but my oil change was not even six months old. I think when they did the previous oil change it was not threaded properly and it was overtighten. I was told I had to replace the pan which is costing me $786. I have pictures of the oil pan and bolt. It’s not showing any age our rust.
Claimed loss: Oil pan cost with labor is $786
Desired outcome: I would like them to cover the cost for new oil pan.
