When I opened the account 2 weeks ago, I was assured that when my check was deposited, the funds would be available right away. Yesterday, I deposited my check and was told $200 was available immediately and the next day, the balance would be available. We went to the grocery store today where the store is located inside a Schnucks and my ATM transaction failed for "insufficient funds", although my balance showed almost $1, 000. I tried again, thinking it was a fluke, and again it was rejected. I spoke with a clerk and had to show her my deposit slip, tell her which US Bank I had made the deposit and when. She located the transaction and again, I told her we needed funds for groceries and to pay bills with. She told me I had to wait 5 days. I told her that I had called twice yesterday, and was assured that my funds would be available the next day (Saturday) and again, she said no, I had to wait 5 days. I explained we needed groceries, gas money to get to work and home, and to pay 2 bills. Again, she refused, saying my employer didn't use their bank. She finally spoke with the personal banker and he refused, saying he had put that on a piece of paper in the packet he had given us. Again, I told them they had assured me my money would immediately be available. I told them if they couldn't accommodate me, to cancel my account and they said they would have to charge me for that. I would strongly urge anyone considering using US Bank to use any other bank but US Bank.
