Costco

I have noticed and this has happened several times during my visit to Costco at the Hanover, Md location. Especially during holidays such as MLK, Presidents Day when a large amount of the public is off. The food court at this location is under staffed it seems often and only 1 or 2 people are working and the lines are long, wait time to get order(s) are long. This incident happened on MLK holiday, Jan 20, 2020. The line became long and preparing and receiving the orders was a longer wait than usual. Members became impatient, raising their voices and saying nasty things to the staff members.
The manager whom was recognized by other members and myself was actually leaving the store, I assume for the day. This is unacceptable, if the manager knew the staff was under staffed for this busy day, she should have remained at the store to assist or something. Again, as I stated this has happened before. The manager should know how to manage in these types of situations.
I felt bad for the staff who had to put up with the nasty things said and the dirty looks they received from the customers/members who felt they were moving to slow in both directions. Improvements should be made to ensure adequate staff is available especially during the busiest times, at the food court. Members love the food and the inexpensive cost, therefore that area is always busy.
Please for the sake of the poor staff, reevaluate the staff needed during these types of holidays. This consideration would help the staff, the members "maybe" to have a stress free day.
