DirecTV - tech service delay

Every time we get a little rain storm, I would lose my sat signal. Because of this, I signed up for the service protection at an extra fee monthly. Recently a storm came throu the night before I was traveling out of town. My signal was lost on many of the channels I watch, but some channels still came through. I waited until I returned thinking it would be fine upon my return. Upon my return, these channels were still out. I called DirecTV and they told me it would be 2 weeks before someone would be out, even though I pay extra a month. After accepting the appointment, I received a call the next day stating my appointment was 3 days later. After speaking to a CS agent, I got nowhere. I look forward to disconnecting the service upon the end of my contract. I would never use their again.

No, DTV's not in the wrong. You're just too stupid to understand it's an extended warranty, not an "ooh I'm a special snowflake what gets service calls before everyone else" club.

Consider: your service went out because of a storm. Unless you angered the rain gods such that they zapped your individual house, other people in the area were affected. You waited before calling, so you had to stand at the end of the line. It's not like they're going to bump some other poor schmuck out to get you an earlier appointment! "Oh I'm sorry Mr. Jones, but Mr. Smith in the ~*~*~snowflake cluuuuub*~*~*~ called to get a service call, so now you're three weeks out." Sucks that they had to change the date on you the next day, but honestly they were probably overbooked as it is.

Your dish was probably misaligned after the storm. What, did you think pixies would realign it while you were gone? Perhaps unicorns.
