Jewel-Osco

I noticed the Jewel store located in Kankakee, IL, (which is one of two major grocers in Kankakee) is set up much different than the one located in Bourbonnais, IL. The Jewel in Kankakee has Baked goods, cookies, soda, and chicken as soon as you enter the store. All fresh produce is at the back of the store. All of the grocery stores located in Bradley and Bourbonnais (like Meijer, Kroger, Walmart, Aldi, and including Jewel) have fresh produce as you enter the store. Are store layouts geared towards certain communities? I also noticed only certain fresh produce is available at the Jewel in Kankakee. Many shoppers have to travel to the Bourbonnais location to buy produce. I feel the Kankakee community is being targeted to with unhealthy options. There is a great need for healthy options in this community, especially since there aren't many shopping options.
