Bank of America - customer service

I needed to change my name after getting divorced and add my daughter-in-law to an account that my son and I were on. I can't believe how difficult Bank of America made it. First I went to an office while I was 45 minutes away from my hometown and they stated that I have to call customer service for a form or I have to go to my local branch. Why if you are all the same bank - no real good answer except they don't have all of our information there. Then I go to my local bank and give them all the documents they want and 20 minutes later I had my name changed but they couldn't add anyone to the account unless we were all present. I asked if I could sign a signature card and then send my son and daughter-in-law in to do the same thing. No, we all must be present or call customer service and they will mail me a form. I asked if they could provide the form, NO, you have to call customer service which we all know takes another 10-20 minutes to do. Next I get a new debit card in the mail with my old name on it. Then my online banking name appears with the wrong first letter of my last name - they changed my name to WARREN when in reality it is MARREN. OK no big deal, I will call customer service and order the form that I need and also have them fix my name. NO WAY that would be much too easy. After 20 minutes on the phone with customer service they said that they will mail the form to add someone to the account but they can't fix my name. OK so I ask them for my branch's phone number and they give me the number for a different branch. Fine I look it up myself and call my branch and figure this will be an easy fix, NO. The manager apologizes and tells me that I have to come in to the branch and sign another signature card. Why you ask? I don't know. I explain that their employee obviously entered my name wrong into the database so they should fix it. But after going around and around with the branch manager, I finally agree to go in and sign a card. 15 minutes later I receive a call from a gentleman (now I believe this is probably the employee who put my name in the system wrong) and he tells me that my son has to come in the bank with me since he is on the account. I explained all of the time that this simple request has cost me and he apologizes and says that I can call customer service and they can send me a form. Yes the steam is now rolling out of my ears. I ask him if I can close out my account and he says NO because you have to have the right name on the account to do that. Lots more steam! So I ask him if my son can close the account without me being there and he says, YES. I called my son immediately and he is at the bank as I write this closing out a checking and his savings account. I have never had such a difficult time dealing with a bank. All of my other accounts are with Wells Fargo and they are simple to deal with. They make everything easy and have excellent customer service.
