Today May17, 2023 my husband went to the Chino Red Robin 3903 Grand Ave. Chino, CA 91710 about 2:45 for lunch.
When we went in the hostess was helping a customer with a to-go order and said she would be right with us. No problem. When she came to us she asked if we wanted to sit in the bar. I said no thank you. She said I'll have to see what I have. I asked my husband why do they always ask us if we want to sit in the bar? That annoys me, it always so noisy in there. The hostess, who never smiled or greeted us once. gave me a look when I said that. She grabbed two menus and started walking to the back and pointed to a table next to a bunch of screaming kids. I asked her if this was punishment for what she overheard me say to my husband? she just stared at me. I walked to the front and asked to speak to the manager. The manager stated that she (The manager was new) and I explained the problem. "No apology, just an explanation, that that was the only table they had available and clean. I asked her if I looked blind to her, since the main dining room had only three tables being used and the back had several other tables clean. She said she had to fire someone today and they were shorthanded. so that was the only table available. I've been going to Red Robin for years, love the food, but have never been told."Here's your table take it or leave it. My husband and I are in our 70's and don't want to sit next to a table with 5 unruly children.
We are not against children; we just wanted a quiet lunch. I guess your customer service doesn't include that anymore. It's unfortunate that your Restaurant is now on the same level as a fast-food joint. I went to yelp, and this location has 2 stars. Maybe corporate should take a good look at the employees running this location, send in some experienced personal that have some training. It's sad to see your restaurant demean itself in this way.
Desired outcome: An apology would be nice and some training for your personal in customer service would go a long way in raising the standards I'm sure you expect at all your locations.
