On September 24, 2023, I shopped at the Ralphs store located at 13321 E South Street in Cerritos in preparation of the upcoming Jewish holiday.
My 1st stop was the meat department to buy a whole fryer (cut-up). They didn't have any (which they typically do not). When I asked the butcher if they could do it for me, he actually seemed annoyed. I thought that perhaps I imagined that he had a terrible attitude, but my grandson's girlfriend who accompanied me on my shopping trip assured me I was accurate. It took over 15 minutes to get my cut up fryer.
Next step was to the produce department to buy parsnip. After searching every nook and cranny in that department, it was apparent they didn't have any. When I asked the gentlemen in produce if they had parsnip, they didn't even know what if was. Parsnip is one of the main ingredients in Jewish chicken soup.
Next step was to the Kosher food section of the store which consisted of 3 shelves. Very disappointing.
Will never shop at this store again. Just in case someone would like to get back to me, my email address is [protected]@sbcglobal.net.
Desired outcome: I don't know what my desired outcome is. But to say this incident was very prejudicial to the Jewish would be an understatement.
