I have a friend that recently quit the Subway on 7th St and Missouri Ave. She always saw the manager as a mother and had a lot of respect for her. She had called off a couple months ago for 9 days because she was in the hospital for surgery. She is also diabetic. The head manager tried to call her a liar until she turned in a doctor's note. The local manager started treating her differently and kept giving her less and less hours. I've heard that none of the employees except maybe one want to be there because of her. My friend mentioned that she might be potentially pregnant and the local manager asked her that night to clean out the microwave with bleach (she can't be around bleach if she's pregnant). She's tried to call off after the surgery because of dizziness, vomiting or back pain, but the manager always guilt trip her into going in for work. Today, she attempted to call off because she fell and hurt her tailbone yesterday and could barely stand. The manager complained, guilt tripped her with her life story, then threatened to take her off the schedule if she didn't come in, claiming that she called off all the time. She didn't, because the manager always guilt tripped her into going in. She told her that she really couldn't go in and hurt herself worse. She told her she was off the schedule. She then tried to call her to see if she would come in, to which she still told her no. The manager tried to threaten her with the schedule again until my friend told her that she quit. She couldn't do it anymore. The manager told her to bring in her uniform, hung up and immediately blocked her. I saw this manager as a professional for a while, until I saw the way she was treating my friend. This lady shouldn't be in a management position, especially if she's breaking her employees to the point where most of them don't want to be there anymore.
Desired outcome: This manager either needs to be moved from a management position and replaced by someone who encourages her employees to be there or fired all together.
