Im having serious health issues with my Sphynx from Hairlesscatcompany. I appreciate how "supportive" she has tried to be with me through emails but what it boils down to. I paid a lot of money for a cat that was sick when we picked him up at the airport. There is no excuses for this. I never really had an issue with shipping, she did however cancel it and delay it because she thought the cat was still a bit too small to fly, then she gave us another excuse about the weather being too cold to ship a Sphynx, I asked her if the plane was heated, she said yes.. then what does the weather have anything to do with the Sphynx being shipped (I have spoke to other breeders, they ship their cats when its in the winter with snow on the ground. However, Im sure not all breeders have the same opinion)... now I sometimes wonder maybe it was because he was sick so she kept delaying to ship him out until he got better... and shes always spoke to me so she hasnt ignored me ... that is probably the only thing I have nice to say about this breeder but I am having a nightmare of an experience that has made me so upset and sick to my stomach. I feel so guilty because I have 2 other cats before I bought a Sphynx. Now all of my babies are very sick, on and off for months. A year is around the corner. The idea of a breeder and paying A LOT OF money, you hope to buy a cat that is healthy. Im very aware that not every cat is going to be healthy until the day the cat drops dead of old age, I know this. But the day you pick up your cat at the AIRPORT and its sick, I dont expect that with the kind of money I paid for the cat. This breeder told me there is no problems in shipping cats, nothing goes wrong, doesnt cause health problems, it is very safe. The day I picked up my Sphynx from the airport, he was coughing, sneezing and wheezing with very very runny eyes that had discharge which he couldnt even open his eyes. The breeder had the nerve to tell me shipping cats can cause uris... why couldnt she of mentioned this before instead of saying there is no problems in shipping cats? Her lying is probably what has caused my Sphynx to get sick in the first place (Unless he was sick all this time). I did some research, it can be true, flying a cat can cause it to get sick, however, I dont appreciate Hairlesscatcompany telling me its ok to ship a cat, dont worry, there is no health issues... then when my cat arrives sick, she tells me flying can cause uris. Nightmare. I hate people that lie like that. Then 2 weeks later, my other 2 cats which I have owned for over 9 years without any issues with them, all come down with the same sneezing, coughing and wheezing symptoms, my vet told me not to bring them in unless they get discharge from the nose. I asked about about my Sphynxs eyes having discharge, very runny and he cant open his eyes.. he told me to bring him in, my vet said its very doubtful flying him in a airplane caused such a bad eye infection like within a hour or so. He has most likely had the herpes virus for a while. Im not a vet but I see what hes saying. The state my Sphynxs eyes were in, that did not happen within a hour on the plane. He had really bad eyes when we picked him up at the airport. Another week goes by, all my cats come down with eye infections. Another vet visit. I have been paying for eye drops on and off for months (And the vet consultation fee) ever since I have picked up my Sphynx. My vet has his doubts about this breeder. Its all very suspicious. She even promised me "scans" of the parents and said theyd be in the crate, which they werent. This breeder is playing the innocent card, the sugarcoating and lying is annoying. The only person she is fooling is herself. She had the nerve to tell me its a big mystery how my Sphynx got sick. Oh, its not rocket science. AT THE AIRPORT THE CAT WAS SICK, therefore, you have given me a sick cat. My other 2 cats have NEVER been sick for MANY MANY years. Now theyre sick on and off since the Sphynx arrived, same with the Sphynx, hes always got discharge in his eyes, this poor cat lives with eye drops and no matter how much Lysine, these cats are still sick on and off. All my cats get eye infections on and off now. He has ulcers all over his tongue and lips (Trust me, its not pretty), all his teeth have grown in crooked. He has to have two teeth extracted (The fangs are the worst, they are crooked and very abnormal/extra long). How terribly sick this Sphynx is and has been, my vet has doubts about the the shipping/flying causing herpes/health issues. Hairlesscatcompany says shes going to help me get through this hard time with me.. really? Are you going to wave your magic wand and pay for my vet bills or refund me my money? Are you going to take the heart pain away from me because all my babies are sick on and off? Are you going to make me feel better knowing that Victor has to get two teeth extracted? No. I dont need support. All I wanted was a healthy cat which I should of got with the amount of money I paid. There is no point in getting this Sphynx replaced so Ive never pushed for it.. whats the point.. hes passed the herpes virus on to my other cats anyway. I would only be bringing another Sphynx in to basically get sick wow disaster at its finest. Its a shame. I really love this breed/Sphynx, I was hoping to get one more Sphynx but I just cant do it now because he/she will most likely get sick too. Its just wrong what this breeder has done. I feel sorry for Johnny (Another complaint about this breeder). She has been victimized and treated like shes a crazy person for only speaking the truth about how deeply hurt she is for getting a cat with health issues. Some people just need to pull their head out of their behind and have some respect. Im not arguing with this breeder like Hairlesscatcompany. Waste of my time. I know Hairlesscatcompany is only going to lie and sugarcoat to protect her business and make it seem like Im some crazy person thats out to get her for no reason or to portray me as some stupid person and her cat was 100% healthy until it arrived at my house so its out of her hands and its alllll my fault and Im just looking for someone to blame it on LOL ok right... I guess the cat being sick at the airport was just my imagination, lets blame it on the flying and the airport shall we, meanwhile she told me shipping doesnt cause any health issues... shame on her for lying. I have my doubts also. I just have this feeling this Sphynx was sick before he was even shipped. The sores all over his lips and tongue, the abnormal long fangs and crooked teeth... poor cat. Just be very careful, especially if you have other cats in your home. I feel so guilty, my poor babies are sick because of me. I didnt do my homework, I figured I could trust Hairlesscatcompany and now look. All I know is that what is done is done. I will be paying out a lot on vet bills for a very long time now.rnrnProtect, sugarcoat. Blame it on me, I must not know what Im talking about or the flying caused the sickness or Victor arriving sick is a big mystery, he must of caught it from my other two cats which havent been sick for many years until Victor arrived. I guess its just one big mystery...rnIm not arguing with Hairlesscatcompany or anyone.

This is NOT true! I know Cassondra for a few years...visited her cats and kittens, all of them are happy, healthy and for sure are NOT sick. Cassondra is responsible and honest sphynx breeder. She takes the best care of the cats and kittens.Shame of this person who wrote it!

This complaint is complete nonsense. Anyone who knows Cassondra on a personal or professional level knows how well she cares for her cats. The amount of knowledge with regards to the breed (Sphynxs) and professionalism she displays is second to none. I had the pleasure of visiting one of the litters when I lived in Ottawa. I was blown away with the mild temperaments and the sheer beauty of the kittens. I already owned two chihuahuas which is why I decided against purchasing one of the kittens. That being said, I've dealt with a number of breeders (dog, chinchilla, etc). You can tell very early on who is a "good" breeder and who misses the mark. I can honestly say that although I've dealt with some good breeders, none have been nearly as good as Cassondra. I don't know who is writing this fictitious "complaint" but whoever it is should be ashamed of themselves. Risking the livelihood of one of the few GOOD breeders and potentially robbing people of the chance to purchase healthy, well-raised Sphynxs.

I would like to express that this above story is not only false but a complete lie. While I am sorry if your kitten did catch a cold, I can assure you and others that are reading this that I can add some interesting information and FACTS to this story. First, I find it to be FALSE and SLANDER. I actually purchased a kitten from the same litter as the above person and I, unlike them I have a lot of insight to the cattery, Cassondra and the kittens, their health and their environment, airplanes and airlines so please take some time to read the truth. I am sorry to say when I read this I feel that the buyer was not educated and or prepared for the work these kittens involve. First, I also bought a male kitten from this same litter! He is the BEST and HEALTHIEST kitten around. I have had NO HEALTH PROBLEMS, NO SOCIAL PROBLEMS AND HE IS NOTHING BUT A PURE JOY! I am a little different from the above writer as I took time to research and visit the cattery not once but TWICE before I picked up my cat. I went to see where he was being raised, if the area was clean, if not just my kitten but ALL kittens were healthy and I can assure on all three visits they were! Our kittens were to be ready before Christmas and that was the hope. I went to not only view the Mom and the other adult cats but my kitten so I could socialize with him, ensure he was healthy and to learn about this bread. I have a Persian Princess at home and I needed to educate myself, how they would socialize together and if it was healthy to bring a Sphynx into my family and would he fit in. Cassondra spent hours of her own time helping me along and I was never a bother! She actually is someone whom I admire and it was very clear throughout the process that she is not charging enough after I saw the love and attention, the fact that she had them for such a long period of time and the amount of socialization that her and her husband did speaks volumes to my kitten Hameed's loving and affectionate personality! The time, the emails, the love, the homemade food, the toys, the pictures... the amount of litter haha after all this time not to mention the FOUR VET VISITS and the spay and neuter. This is breeding for the love of these cats and that was very clear to me. To see how emotionally attached she was to them all... The first time I made the 1200 km visit to view my kitten I was so impressed! I could not wait for Dec 20, 1212 to arrive. I was able to meet a few of the cats, and saw the babies playing and running and the mother being so sweet and affectionate with me and all her kittens. I was able to see how healthy and strong they were and how they were all like little fireballs running around. Healthy, happy and strong. The environment was SO CLEAN, my kitten was perfect and so were all his brothers and sisters. They were small and so tiny, and even though Hameed was the biggest of the litter he was small and fit into my palm. I had so many questions and I watched and played with my kitten. There was toys, and a huge cat tree for all, there was a shelter and a little tent house for them to run to safety. The house was immaculate and after looking, and being able to see the health of the cats in her home, the babies and the Mom I was in love. I was also concerned about bringing a healthy kitten home to my other cat and it was no longer a concern. Those cats were her number one priority and I could only come after their vet visits and they were strong. They were watched over and cared for like little babies at all times. Health was and remains The HairlessCat Companies first priority. I thanked her and told her I could not wait. I thanked her for her endless work of love and support she gave to me and it was very clear she loved every kitten there. A few days later our kittens went to another vet visit and it was the VET that decided to wait on the spay/neuter and shots and they were not ready to leave their mom just yet. I can confirm this was NOT A LIE THE KITTENS WERE SMALL AND IF THE VET SAID NO, THEY NEEDED MORE TIME WITH MOM THEN THAT WAS NOT THE HAIRLESSCAT COMPANY BUT THE VETS! The date to get our kittens was pushed back and would not be making home for Christmas. I can understand how frustrating this would be if you bought a plane ticket and you lived where your kitten had to be shipped or picked up... it might make you so angry you'd want to write a negative letter but to slander is not fair and it is not true. Cassondra's was heart broken and felt bad when she had to call and tell us the VET and HER agreed the kittens were too small to be spayed and have their last shots and needed more time with their Mom. Since I had been there and physically took the time to see the kittens I wanted Hameed to come home... but the health was and remained her number one priority and what ever was best for the kittens she did. And I will admit they were still so small...She was NOT LYING! We would make the trip after the New Year and after the Vet gave the approval. On January 5, 2013 we drove 1200 km again to pick up our healthy kitten and to spend time at the cattery and see all of the kittens. They were 100 percent healthy and running, playing and into everything. I looked at all of them to make sure. The mom, brothers and sisters. The Mom was healthy and the house was clean, the cats were beautiful and once again Cassondra took more of her time to go over the special needs of a Sphynx. I assure you ALL KITTENS WERE HEALTHY ON THIS DATE, THEIR EYES WERE CLEAR, NO RUNNY EYES OR COUGH. We were there for awhile and there was no cough to be heard or runny eye to wipe! Had there been any of that my kitten would have had that also. He has had NO HEALTH PROBLEMS AT ALL. I can also bet my life that Cassondra would not ship or let a kitten go in the back of the aircraft cargo hold as we talked about that too. I can also give another side to this equation and we work at a major Airline and WE WOULD NOT SHIP OUR KITTEN CARGO AT ALL. THERE IS AN EMBARKMENT ON SHIPPING ANIMALS IN BACK CARGO HOLDS IN WINTER (FYI) and while there is heat on planes and in the cargo hold, at 39000 feet the temperature outside a plane in Jan 1213 was approx minus 45 - minus 50 degrees so it is not something that airlines do from November till May! FYI. There are a few aircraft that do have heated cargo holds but they are the extremely larger planes that are build with animal holds, holds for horses and cargo that has to fly and the chances that your destination has the proper aircraft types flying to it is another so ... Airlines don't do it. Your animal is allowed inside the cabin or on certain plane types but in general we don't do it. We both fly for a living and WE WOULD NOT SHIP OUR KITTEN OR BRING IT THRU THE AIRPORT AND WE CHOOSE TO DRIVE THE 1200KM again for the safety and health of the kitten. Leaving your family and having such a long trip for a little kitten is a lot of stress and ...Airports, sick passengers, everyone with their germs, a dry environment in the cabin at Christmas time is too much for me let alone a kitten or a baby. Planes are prone to germs, airborne viruses and drafts. We work on a plane and we would not bring our kitten in the cabin and subject them to all that... I am not surprised your kitten caught something. Is it safe? Yes but your taking too many chances with the germs, the delays, the unknowns in the air. The healthiest human can get sick on a plane and if your kitten didn't drink at least 355 ml of water throughout the journey ( a human would need 3 huge bottles of water for a long trip just to stay hydrated) then you are running the chance of anything happening. The dirtiest place around and best place to find germs is on a plane and that is the reason we DID NOT FLY AND COULD HAVE AS WE WORK THERE.
I am sorry that your kitten caught something along the way but I saw him and he was healthy... He went to the vet at least 4 times. Cassondra is in LOVE with her babies and she would never send a sick baby nor did she have one. The shock of altitudes for that little baby is too much and its a lot to take. And if it did not drink at least 355ml of water he would have been so dehydrated! Please don't say bad things about this beautiful cattery. I have had the best experience and I went thru and saw your kitten! I choose not to use my "benefits of cheap flying" and drive to ensure there were no germs, scary noises and or delays. It was not worth Hameed's health. So I find it weird how the brother in the same littler does not have herpes, he doesn't have goopy eyes (and I hope you are not confusing that with cleaning their eyes once a day which the research will tell you all about is normal) and no welts on Hameed's tongue. I question what you are trying to do to The Hairless Cat Company and just because your kids didn't get their kitten for Christmas is not a reason to create this. I wish I could buy 10 more of Cassondra's kittens and I will stand beside her, bring Hameed and all the pictures I took and have. If your cat had it at the cattery so would my kitten and he has nothing! Something does not add up to your story... Your cats on the other side of the country caught something from him but his own brother did not? How do you think that is possible? I bet my life she would never ship a sick kitten. I can assure you Cassondra and her husband have nothing but love for these kittens and cats. I can tell Hameed received more love then he knows what to do with and he is so well adjusted. Please for anyone who reads this please contact the company, go see for yourself and educate yourself. She always had a open door policy with me and was more then helpful accommodating us coming from so far! EVERYTIME. Her door is open to visit and look. Ask for my email and references and pictures. There was a lot of mistruths to the above story and since I have the brother from the litter and we too paid SOOOOO MUCH MONEY, WORTH EVERY CENT I have the truth, the airline travel points, the knowledge of how dirty and dry airplane cabins truly are and I would not subject a teeny tiny baby sphynx too you have to question the motives to that story. I also know the waivers we signed and how fair Cassondra is with the health and how serious she takes it. PLEASE DO YOUR OWN HOMEWORK. VISIT THE CATTERY. ITS OPEN DOOR POLOCIY AND Cassondra and her husband are a BEAUTIFUL FAMILY, will shed truth to the beautiful Sphynx breed.

We are the Hairless Cat Comapny. Unfortunately, this person is false. As in our charter, we will not fly or ship an animal that is not personally accompanied by us. Yes shipping available, however if the little one is not accompanied by either us or client, we will not proceed. We have never flown a kitten. None of our little ones have ever been ill and close contact with adopters have been in close contact.

In fact this story has been copy and pasted from another previous complaint. Please schedule a visit to experience for yourself, we look forward to your visit.
