Sailrite staff are knowledgeable and experienced. Their extensive video tutorials are invaluable and so easy to follow. They continue to add value by expanding their inventory. I see they have recently developed a portable leather sewing machine. The website explains the properties and use of most items, and if you can't decide what works for your application, they are always at the end of the phone or available by email if you need some advice. Sailrite designed the best COVID-19 face mask patterns (3 sizes plus a customizable pattern,) and fabrics for mask and filter are great, and the YouTube video for mass-producing on the domestic level is super helpful and time-saving for those of us making them for friends and family. After carefully watching Sailrite's Roman shade how-to video, I was pleased to find that they sell just about everything I needed for my project (2 window shades (5 1/2 ft. Wide and 8 1/2 ft. Wide). Shades of this size would easily have cost between $1000 - $2000 to have custom made, but I was able to make them myself for under $300. I priced out some of the necessary materials on Amazon and found them to be cheaper, but overall, Sailrite's prices are reasonable and they sell most of their items by the foot so I didn't get stuck with having to buy unnecessary amounts sold in volume. I'd definitely recommend this company to anyone interested in making Roman shades. Everything I ordered shipped in less than a week so I was able to get started right away!

I absolutely LOVE my new Lsz-1 machine! It does exactly what I need it to do. I sew leather purses and it sews them beautifully. I ordered leather needles and a leather foot, but I haven't had to use the foot because the one that came with the machine works just fine. I have not seen any marks on my leather, but then again, I mainly use pebble leather.
I contacted Sailrite a number of times before I purchased my machine and they were very helpful. Replies were received quickly.
The directions for setting up the machine are extremely clear and easy to follow, plus Sailrite sends you videos to follow. They are excellent and answer all questions.
This company has thought of everything, plus providing excellent customer service. I really do love my machine.

I ordered samples because I wanted to see and feel the fabric before ordering. The samples were of a decent size and reflected adequately what I had seen in the catalog as far as color. The only draw back was that the samples did not arrive before a sales special you had was to expire. Usually mail gets to me in 4 days max. It took almost 2 weeks. That isn't Sailrites fault though. So I took a chance and placed my full order as it was a large order and I didn't want to miss the $10 off on every $100 ordered. The samples came in the mail the day after my large order arrived via Fed Ex. The samples were not wasted however. I used them to set the sewing settings on my machine, and a little trial piping making and assembling to other sample. I was very pleased.

My husband and I purchased a vintage all teak Cheoy Lee Lion sailboat a couple years ago. We've been restoring it since then, both inside and out. This is the second time I've used Sailrite for supplies and instruction. They have incredibly knowledgeable and helpful staff. The supplies are great and came quickly. I'm not a professional seamstress so my work isn't perfect, but it fit the need and was very satisfying to create. I couldn't have made my projects (complete set of 10 inside boat cushions and house balcony privacy screen) without their phenomenal online instructional videos. The fabric is absolutely gorgeous the color is a nice charcoal color or deep grey without being too dark. I am using it for drapes in the family room with a large leather sofa. The perfect fabric for a warm and inviting space. The weight will be perfect for these drapes. I will line them as well. Not to add body to the drape just a very nice professional way to make a curtain. It is a mid weight fabric in my opinion. I feel it would be excellent for any upholstery, pillow, or curtain project. It has a nice men's wear feel to it that I love. Did you see that I recieved the fabric the VERY NEXT DAY! Lighting fast delivery. This is a very professional and knowledgeable and educational business. They have always had amazing customer service and the videos and tutorials on their website are so educational. I have learned so much from them. Thank you so much for my amazing fabric.

I was very sad and a bit perturbed to have the zipper pull for the main zip on my much beloved, lightly worn and expensive to replace Gore-Tex jacket crumble in my hand a couple of months ago, just before the winter rain really started coming down here in the Bay Area. I looked at sending the jacket back to the manufacturer for repair under warranty but it would have meant being without it potentially for weeks when I needed it most. In searching Google for some kind of temporary hack, I found you (thanks Patagonia!) and could hardly believe, on visiting your site and watching a how-to video, that the perfect repair could be done in just a few minutes for a couple of bucks. I ordered 2 extra zipper pulls (exact replacement of the original) just to be prepared for future mishaps, and after speedy delivery and about 5 minutes of my time, my jacket is like new again. Thank you, Sailrite!

I have been sewing off and on for over 30 years and have several sewing machines for home sewing, quilting and embroidery work. None of my machines are strong enough to work on several layers of denim or canvas (I've tried, many broken needles). My husband and I recently purchased a used boat in need of new canvas covers so I purchased the LSZ-1 to do the canvas work myself. I've been working on several canvas bags to test out the machine before working on the boat covers. This machine is heavy duty and reliable (no broken needles). The getting started videos are awesome and easy to follow. I've watch several videos to replace the canvas covers on our boat, I've ordered all the materials from Sailrite and I'm hoping to have the covers done this fall. The only con is the weight of the machine. It is very heavy for me to lift the machine on to my sewing table when it's in the case. But that's what husbands are for.

I can't say enough good about the Sailrite Ultrafeed LSZ or their exceptional customer service. I have a suite of Baby Lock sewing and embroidery machines, all domestics, including the Sashiko, but I needed something that would plow through multiple layers of pleated cotton and flannel for making masks and also something that would handle marine vinyl like a champ, and boy did I find it! This machine is a WOW! For someone like me who has never worked with a mechanical machine before there is a slight learning curve but it is a very short one that is shortened further by the plethora of online instructional videos hosted by Matt and his team at Sailrite. Between the instruction book that is very logical and easy to follow and all of the videos broken out by subject you are never at a loss for support. This is not to mention the friendly, capable support you can get by calling during business hours. But this is only part of the wow experience.

I had been mulling a Sailrite for years; despite my love for my other machines there was always something about these machines that drew me in. The walking foot was the main feature for me, and the zigzag capability. So by the time I was ready to make my move I was pretty clear about what I wanted. I called on a Tuesday morning, was greeted by a very capable woman who answered the few questions that remained after all of my research, and placed my order for the machine (Premium package), the industrial table, a bunch of the UV heavy thread, extra needles, and bobbins. She advised that orders usually take three days to process. Low and behold, four hours later I received an email from UPS indicating that my order had shipped! By Thursday afternoon, barely more than 48 hours after placing my order, the entire order was stacked in our foyer! Absolutely incredible customer service in any environment, let alone our trying Covid conditions!

If you are on the fence, wondering if Sailrite is all that it's cracked up to be, BELIEVE THE HYPE! Buy without reservation.

I know that the material is meeting the needed criteria for the project so I don't expect any problems in the near future that we could mention now. I say your customer service based on this message is expected to be superior and I hope that any follow through from you keeps up with the standard you set with this very inquiry. I was very happy with the service received. One box of this order was damaged to the point that UPS returned it to sender without my seeing it and due to time and other factors was not aware that it was missing. Sailrite contacted me the morning they received the damaged package and checked the contents for completeness and had the package back to me in two days. They have been friendly and seemed happy to help when I have had contact with them. I have since placed a few more orders as I learn what I would like to have to do my DIY projects and plan to use them when possible in the future.

Sailrite is one of those companies that stand out from the rest for many reasons. First, they are confident in their products, which are innovative and purposeful yet timeless. Second, they give away necessary and complimentary information on everything in their catalog -before- you even buy it, as close to demoing a purchase as you can get. Third, they are based in Indiana, are incredibly helpful if you need help, and have at least 15 years of troubleshooting correspondence to find help if their closed through their YouTube channel, website, and forum. I personally chose to start my small business with their machine and supplies for these reasons.

The insignia 10" sail patch was just what we needed for holes and tears on our vintage Sunfish sail. Instructions are easily followed (clean area with alcohol, cut patch at least 1" bigger than hole, patch on both sides). We created circles of different sizes for patches, which aesthetically work to look like bubbles. Since the material is so sticky, it takes some work to avoid making wrinkles/bubbles (we weren't totally successful). While I wish there were more color options than just white, it doesn't look too bad on our red and yellow sail. Sailrite Enterprise was friendly and helpful, shipping was efficient, and the website ordering went well. Overall, a great experience!

I am enjoying my new sewing system which includes the following pieces. The Sailrite Ultra-feed Sewing Machine, the 3/4 horsepower servo motor, and the Ultrafeed Industrial Sewing Table are an awesome combination. The Sailrite Ultra-feed Sewing Machine is built to last a lifetime and has fantastic slow stitching speed with the 3/4 hp servo motor, the 3/4 horsepower servo motor has the power to sew through several layers of fabric, and the Ultrafeed Industrial Sewing Table is a solid foundation for the Sailrite Ultra-feed Sewing Machine and it provides extra work area to sew larger pieces of fabric. These components together make sewing much easier and a lot of fun. Sailrite has fantastic products, wonderful customer service, and fast shipping.

I recently purchased an LSZ-1 Ultrafeed (premium package) sewing machine from Sailrite, and I LOVE it! I first learned about Sailrite when I needed to make a winter cover for my pontoon boat. They have FANTASTIC how to videos on everything from setting up the tools and equipment that they sell to making complex covers, shelters and reupholstering just about anything. All of their videos are well produced and they explain all the steps necessary for completion! They also sell top notch fabrics and supplies and explain how to use them. I think I am close to watching every video they have made, even for things I will never need, just to learn new techniques! I have plans to reupholster my pontoon seats in the coming years, as they start to wear out. The money I spent on the machine will easily pay for itself with that one project alone, so it was really a no-brainer for me!

In May I purchased a Sailrite sewing machine and all of the components to make new cushions for our boat. The sewing machine I received is of the highest quality and works very well for my application. The fabrics and supplies are also of very good quality. Most helpful are the company's online tutorials which have made what could have been a complex project, smooth and easy. After beginning my project, I discovered I needed a special foot for my sewing machine that I had not previously ordered. After ordering, I contacted Sailrite to inquiry how long it would take to be shipped, as my project was sitting out ready to be sewn. I emailed and received a response back within the hour that they would ship my item that day. Twenty minutes later, I received the shipping notice. Sailrite not only sells superior products and teaches you how to use their products, with detailed, easy to understand tutorials, but Sailrite's customer service is superior. I highly recommend this business for good upholstery needs.

Ordered fabric from Sailrite but first called the company to make sure the fabric would be rolled and not folded when shipped. I specifically expressed the fabric could not be creased for the project. They said no worries anything ordered over 1 yard of fabric would be shipped rolled. I was ordering two yards. I proceeded to order and couldn't wait to receive the fabric to finish valences for my windows. Well, received the fabric folded in a 12x14" plastic envelope. Reached out to customer service and long story short they offered to refund the shipping costs and told me to work the folds out myself with a wet cloth and an iron. I asked them to send me a call tag to return the fabric and to send me out the rolled version as promised. They stoped responding to me and I have not heard another word from them. When you run a business you run it with honesty and integrity which this company lacks. I have never experienced any business that I have ever ordered from ( and there have been many ) treat me in such a way.

I purchased the Sailrite Ultrafeed Plus from Sailrite when I retired one year ago. I have sewn for most of my life for my own enjoyment. I have two other machines including a serger and wanted to add a heavy duty machine to my arsenal. I love the Sailrite Ultrafeed! I make a lot of bags and now I can expand the type of fabrics that I use and what I create. The Sailrite Ultrafeed cuts through multiple layers of waxed canvas, which I buy from Sailrite. I have purchased machine presser feet, notions and fabric from Sailrite too. All are excellent quality. The customer service at Sailrite is excellent. I called for assistance when I needed assistance to adjust the presser foot tension. They were patient and very helpful! The videos that are available from Sailrite are wonderful. I have watched almost all of them even if I will never need to sew a sail, but I learn new techniques. The most wonderful thing about Sailrite videos and customer service is - they give me the confidence to try new things and know that I will be successful! Keep on doing what you have been doing, Sailrite! I cannot say enough good things about Sailrite, the excellent quality of their products, and their people!

Very happy with my order. The products are very good quality. I really like my new ultrafeed sewing machine. It's been at least 25 years since I have sewn and it was so easy to get going again. I was very nervous about spending that much money on a machine, but so happy I did. I'll be able to complete many boating projects with ease. Your instructional videos are coming in handy too. If I had one suggestion it would be this. I would've liked someone in the order department to notice that the zipper slider and the continuous zipper that I ordered did not match. I ordered the Vision pull, but the Coil Chain zipper. I should've ordered the Vision continuous zipper. Didn't realize it (even though I reviewed my order several times before submitting it online). I discovered this mistake while sewing the duffle bag project. The pull was super hard to install & when I did eventually get it on, it absolutely did not move on the zipper. A quick email to Sailrite revealed my error. I've since ordered the correct pieces, but my project it on hold until it arrives next week. I wish someone preparing the order had noticed and contacted me quickly to ask if my order was correct. Other than that, I'm very pleased with your products and customer service.

This may be a bit lengthy but its worth reading.

I bought this machine and had problems right our of the box. The machine is a massive piece of metal yet there are two poorly designed plastic retainer clips that hold the shuttle assembly in place. Mine broke in the first couple stitches and wham major problems. I should have returned the machine then but I let them talk me into keeping it. They sent me two new clips (also plastic) I replaced them then went through the instructions on insuring no burrs were on the shuttle etc. I was able to use the machine with limited success on a couple of sewing projects. But have had chronic problems with thread feeding and material feeding. I was rather patient and kept trying to make this machine work. Eventually the warranty expired as I like everyone else has to work etc and life goes by quickly. I got the machine out to sew some canvass and wham another major malfunction.

Out of frustration I gave the machine a very negative review on this site. I was contacted within two days by Salirite. They agreed to repair my machine under warranty if I shipped it to them. I shipped the machine to them at a cost of $100.00. They returned the machine promptly with a sample of beautiful stitching. I anxiously tried the machine on a small piece of canvass. It seemed to work. I changed my review to 3 stars commending their customer service and left it with "time will tell"

Well here we are. About one week later, I started to sew the same material and same thread. No changes to any settings. I got about two inches of stitch and was met with a loud WHACK and a ball of birds nest under the machine around the bobbin. I will again commend Matt B. In their service Dept as he offered to help me via internet and with pictures etc. He appears to be a knowledgeable and genuine person.

By this point I simply want to be rid of this machine. I was advised since the machine is well out of its 30 day return window, returning it is not an option. I will not pay another $100 to ship the machine back and I do not have the time to play patty cake over the phone in a vane effort to fix something that I have already wasted too much time and money on.

So here is my honest review of the machine. To me the machine has no value. It is unreliable. I can't return it, and I can't sell it to someone else in good conscience. I will write it off as an expensive lesson learned. I should have sent it back immediately when it did not work correctly. I have another smaller machine of a different brand which has always just worked. It has worked every time with every material and every thread that my LSZ-1 has failed with. I have never had to make any timing changes or anything other than appropriate needle, thread, tension etc. But it has always worked where the LSZ-1 has failed. When I bought the LSZ-1 it seemed like a good value it was one of the least expensive machines of its class. Turns out I didn't save any money by purchasing this machine. Instead I have now wasted the purchase price, the cost of shipping for warranty work, lots of time and lots of wasted material and thread. Now I am choosing to quit while I am behind and not loose any more time or money with this machine. I am not certain what I will do with the machine. I have several options. Book end, paper weight, exercise prop, scrap metal, boat anchor etc. It will likely remain on my shelf as a reminder of the series of poor decisions I have made up to this point.

I gave the LSZ-1 one star for two reasons, 1. Matt B. Tried to help, for that I commend him. 2. The site won't allow you to give zero stars. Otherwise It would have gotten zero stars from me. There are many people who wrote great reviews on this product. Good for them, I'm truly glad they had good experiences with their machines. I did not.
