Makro appliance can't be repaired

I bought a Russell Hobbs breadmaker 10 years ago, which I have only used about 6 times. I recently took it in to Russell Hobbs in Booysens to be repaired, but Andries, their service manager, said that my particular model was not imported by New World Industries, and must have been imported directly by Makro, and they can't repair it. I went onto the Makro website a week ago, and complained but have received no response. How long should appliances last for? I have a Magimix that I bought 32 years ago, and I can still buy spares and have it repaired! I have bought many appliances from Makro, but I am concerned about the repair policies. I asked Russell Hobbs what would happen if I took the breadmaker to Makro for repairs, and they say it would be sent to them and they would have to return it with the same comments as I was given.

Makro this is shocking service

I went to the Camping section of the store to buy a lantern, there was no staff member to offer assistance. However, one staff member walked by and saw I was looking for assistance, he then called on one of the two guys(who are responsible for the camping section) who were JUST STANDING some distance away from the lanterns, and he then rightly walked away. The guy who was supposed to help me didn't even bother to come over to assist me, instead, without me asking for it, he chose to shout to me that the price of the lanterns was above the lanterns themselves. I then shouted back that I saw the price, but I wanted to enquire more about the item. If he had bothered to come and assist me, I would have asked him to advise on how to extend the life of the lanterns, the 2 I bought early in 2008 both seem to have reached the end of their life, none of them works already!

Without even asking what I wanted to enquire about the lanterns, he then began shouting back that it was battery operated blah blah blah, I then waved at him in disgust and walked away and out of the store, after paying for the calculator I bought. He didn't even care to see me walk away. This is shocking service!

Makro they do not have time for average consumer

I confirmed with Makro that they close at 18:00 and decided that I would leavef Cape Town city centre after work at 17:00 and rushthrough peak-hour traffic to reach the closest Makro branch (Milnerton) at 18:01.

Upon arrival, the door was already locked and a representative (not a security guard) wearing Makro clothing stood holding the keys in his hands and shrieked his shoulders as if he did not understand English. I explained to him that I rushed all the way from the city to reach them 1 minute late. He did not care at all and just kept on shrieking his shoulders and saying that they are closed.

If only they knew that all I wanted to do was buy a fridge, which I already picked out online and which I had everything ready to buy in a flash.

Makro used laptop or defective product?

I purchased amilo pi3560 from makro after being sent from one store to the other. Purchase made at 5th store. Laptop had a user set up, software loaded and seems to boot up slow, keys sticky and icons on desktop distorted. Makro just says send in for repair. Why, I bought it new! Surely they should give me a new one and send it in themselves - if I did not buy a substandard - repaired laptop as a new one! Bought Sunday 31/01/2010.

Makro 22 day old tv taken for service 5 weeks later still no response

I bought a LG television from Makro on 3 January 2009. On 25 January 2009, I switched my tv on and the screen went green then would not switch back on. I took the tv back to Makro Centurion for repairs, they refuse to exchange it even though it was only 22 days old. They took it in for servicing and said it takes 2-6weeks and they would contact me to inform me of the tv's problem and status. Five and a half weeks later with no repsonse from them I went back to Makro only to find out that they had no feedback whatsoever on the status of the tv. Makro has had this tv for a longer period than I have since I bought it. They keep promising to give me feedback within 24hours but I have still not heard from them. I am appauled by this service and I am sure that there are more customers out there who have experienced the same treatment from Makro.

I've placed an online order at makro crawnmines on the 30th of October, then when I went to collect I was told one item was canceled due to no stock, till today I'm still waiting for the refund...order no MAK5437169

It has been 2 weeks since the system is down and cant access these services, what do you do incase of emergencies and death in the family...….. 2 weeks for such a big company to be offline, 2 weeks is a lot and to the customers it looks like there is no sense of urgency.

I bought a cellphone on Makro Online on 25 August 2023, 4 weeks later the product has not been delivered to me.

I have placed my order on the 21 of August 2023 and no feedback or updates regarding my order. When I call their call centre they keep saying they will get back and they fail to do so. I have even sent an email and its still no response.

I purchased a Defy washing machine online ( 27 June) that is faulty. I had it for a week when I called to have it returned. Makro has been non responsive and for a month now they are simply not processing the return or refund. My matter has been escaped many times but nothing happens. My ref number for my first call on 10 July is : 3223176.

I've returned the item to Makro Wonderboom on the 29 June as per arrangement. I was told that the refund will reflect after 7 days. I haven't been refunded to date. I contact the call center every week to make a followup, to no assistance. I'm always told that they are escalating the call to finance department.

I have been waiting for an order and it’s day 6 now no communication nothing. Firstly you separate it a million piece forget that it’s my time that you are asking for inconvenience my life because of your stupidity wasting my time I paid you for it you not doing me a favour

Returned item on 13 June 2023 - Still no refund, Call centre the worst you will hold on for 1hr. Response from them my refund is with Finance.

if you call finance, they not working in the office, the staff that has your queries off sick.

I ordered an item online, on the 3rd of July. I've called multiple times, and no one can tell me where my order is or when it will be delivered. Your agents are trained to say sorry, multiple times, but that's all, they can't resolve anything! absolutely useless in online sales. #MAK4751676. This is my reference number, this is all I have.

Placed an online order in December 2022. Still waiting for my refund for the wrong bill being invoiced.

No one can tell me when I will get a refund? Phone twice a week.
