Avoid paying extra for any warranties they are asked to buy
I bought a car from Pinetree, on 12/09/10. On purchasing the car I was persuaded to buy a lifetime warranty with it for an extra couple of pounds a month over the term of the loan (60 months), the reaqson being- I was told- was so that if anything "god forbid" happened with the car that needed repairing there would be no argument in getting it repaired with their workshop.For 6 months the car has run smoothly and was pleased with my purchase. But then on 27/03/11 the car broke down (it happens I know), however when trying to get in touch with Pinetree to find out how I went about getting it fixed I was passed from pillar to post and basically given the run around. I had to take half day from work to travel down to Pinetree where I was "finally" given a number to contact about my warranty, however when I got in touch with them I was informed that the warranty that Pinetree had taken out for me expired after only 3 months of purchase of the car, which is the legal requirement that all car dealers must give. In summing up I am now pondering my next step in taking legal action against Pinetree on retrieving my warranty cost, and would urge anyone thinking of buying a car from these dealers to think again but seriously avoid paying extra for any warranties they are asked to buy.

The are a wast of time there cars are crap I have a car of them and got rid of it as it was full of folts there after services is very bad the sales men will tell you any crap to sell a car stay well away from this lot or you will regret it also thy have now gone from port Talbot have thy gone bust ? Or just moved as there has been so many complaints
I BROUGHT A BMW 520 FROM PINETREE, THE CAR INITIALLY DROVE WELL, AFTER 2 DAYS THERE WAS A LEAKAGE, I BROUGHT THE RAC WARRANTY PLATINUM AND WARRANTY FROM PINETREE FOR 3MONTHS. HOWEVER, WHEN I CALLED RAC, THEY SAID THEY DON'T COVER LEAKAGES, AND PINETREE INITIALLY SAID THEY CANNOT HELP ME. AFTER I TOLD THEM I HAD A RECORDING OF THE SALESMAN, STATING THAT LEAKAGES ARE COVERED. THEY THEN AGREED TO PAYING THE COST UP TO A MINIMUM AMOUNT. THEY DID NOT PROVIDE ME WITH A REPLACEMENT CAR AND EVEN TOLD ME TO BRING THE CAR BACK TO WALES FOR REPAIR? I LIVE IN LONDON AND IT WAS DIFFICULT TO DRIVE THE CAR TO THE LOCAL GARAGE LET ALONE WALES, VERY INCONSIDERATE. I THEN PROVIDED THE INVOICES, PINETREE SALES MANAGER MATTHEW ACCUSED OF ME FAKING THE INVOICES, WHICH REALLY UPSET ME AS THIS IS A DISGRACEFUL THING TO SAY. I THEN ASKED HIM TO CONTACT KWICKFIT HEAD OFFICE AND INQUIRE ABOUT THE INVOICES, WHICH HE DID AND FOUND OUT THEY WERE NOT FAKE. I HAVE RECEIVED NO APOLOGY FOR THAT. I AM STILL CHASING UP THE MONEY FROM THE INVOICES BUT THEY HAVE NOT SENT IT OVER YET. EVERY TIME I CALL THEY SAY OH THE MANAGER IS OFF OR HIS BUSY AND REFUSE TO SPEAK TO ME. ITS JUST GOING ROUND IN CIRCLES, I DONT WANT ANYONE ELSE TO GO THROUGH THE SAME STRESS. PLEASE DO NOT BUY ANY CARS FROM HERE. THEY ARE LIARS AND FRAUDSTERS.
The warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on and neither is Pinetree cars.
I purchased a vehicle on 31/12/2014. Six weeks later the air bag Ecu went faulty and the paint on both bumpers began peeling. The company initially denied any paint work having been done to the vehicle and then after taking the car to them they admitted that the bonnet and bumpers had been painted.
Fair play to them for offering to have the bumpers smart repaired but what was the point when it would cost more in fuel to take the vehicle to them rather than just having it sorted myself.
Was told the Ecu was covered by the 'warranty' so contacted the warranty company and was told air bag ecu's are not covered. Tried contacting the after sales person upon finding this out and he basically denied any previous correspondence.
Spoke to the Operations Manager and he told me that the company were not responsible for anything in the car after 6 weeks of the car leaving the garage.
So basically, it has cost me approx £600 to have the air bag Ecu fixed and I didn't mention that the wishbones, track rod end. And cv boot also caused the vehicle to fail it's mot.
Something that the garage also implied wasn't their problem.
Cost of repair for the wishbone, tracked end and cv boot is approx £1070.
