I went to purchase a pup from this breeder, they wanted a cash payment on pick up, I wrote them a check they agreed to try to have c!eat in the ten days before pick up, they lied about the check clearing, waited five days before trying to cash the check, I feel strongly they say no paper trail and pay no taxes, I am planning on reporting them to the state as well as to akc, these people should not be allowed to sell puppies, I feel they are dishonest and more than likely over breed their dogs.

I am personally acquainted with Pinewood Acres Goldens, their practices, and their dogs. They even had a surprise drop-in from AKC and passed with flying colors in regard to the care and condition of their dogs. AKC does this on a regular basis to breeders. The owners of Pinewood Acres love the breed, love their dogs, and take excellent care of their puppies. They pay their taxes and there is a paper trail.

I have had many experiences with "bad" breeders, and Pinewood Acres is not one of them. They produce excellent puppies with superior temperaments, conformation, and health. They protect the future of the breed and ensure that all their puppies go to good homes. They are not overrun with dogs and are family-run. Even Jamel Hamka, a well-known top quality breeder, bought TWO puppies from Pinewood Acres. That, in itself, is a top testimony to quality and ethical standards.

It is no crime to request cash to pay for a puppy. Especially since checks often bounce and then you could disappear with the puppy. You yourself say that you were asked to bring cash and instead brought a check. I'm surprised they even accommodated you since you were obviously not respecting their policies and would be the one to scam them.

Your claims are without evidence. You are obviously just upset about them cashing your check 5 days early--if, indeed, that's what happened. The fact that you would show up to get a puppy and not be willing to pay for it upfront is a red flag in itself. You did not practice good ethics, yourself. Your accusations are not valid.
