I have been a loyal customer of the brand Old Holborn Tobacco now for at least 10 years, i needed some tobacco, and as it was really late i had know choice but to go to the spar shop on Charing Cross Road central London as i was aware that this store is open 24 hrs a day.almost immediately after receiving the tobacco i realized something did not feel right and to confirm my suspicion i decided to taste this tobacco and as far as i am concerned it's fake and the fact that it cost me £8.02 which i do realize is just above the retail value in any popular supermarket due to the fact that this store in open 24 hrs, you need in investigate this matter as your brand is being fraudulent not only to your company, but also the UK government.

Well, what can I say? Back again.. this time with the same complaint! Coming from Tesco's at £8.34, this is the second 25g pouch I've picked up in the last week and the only quality reminiscent of the Old Holborn I know and love is the aroma of a fresh pouch.. but that's where it ends. The consistency of this tobacco is appaualing (not the neat cut/lack of stalks i am used to) - and really badly cut too. Slightly wider cut than usual, breaking away into bits the second it's touched in the pouch (I know Old Holborn isn't the stringiest of tobaccos, but more so than this pathetic imitation I'm left with). I've found something else out though.. The pack design. It is ADUNDANTLY clear from the pack design that something is not right here. The white backing to the Old Holborn logo usually runs perfectly around the words.. these 'fake' (for want of a better word) pouches have more of the white backing on the top of the logo (becomes obvious upon inspection).. on top of this, if you study the paint job on the leaves in each corner of the box behind the logo, they run. If you look close you will see it's not been printed properly (again, abundantly clear when compared to the pouches I used to get) and definitely points in the direction of counterfeit goods if you ask me. This definitely needs looking into.

Hi, I have smoked Old Holborn for about 4 years now. Before that I smoked Drum until Imperial Tobacco took ownership rights, and I noticed a change in the quality of the tobacco and a lack of nicotine hit. Old Holborn sorted that out. I am interested in why you think Old Holborn is 'fake' tobacco, and what you mean by fake? For me, it is the only tobacco sold on local shop shelves that gives me that uncompromising nicotine hit and that taste and smell is like no other.
