Like many reviews on here, I have a very similar situation with the additional items.. plus other drama. Still working on getting my $$ back. I am returning the entire order.
First, when ordering, my subtotal before paying was $715. My card was charged over $1000 after the order submitted.
I requested cancellation with the Nectar online chat rep. Nectar customer service said the price was correct and blamed ME saying I was inappropriately stacking coupons.
Ok... I added items to my cart and checked out. Customers don't type in promo codes.. they're auto loaded... so to tell me how am I responsible for their false advertising BS?!?
Not only once, but twice.. I placed the order twice to prove... it was $715 before paying.. and $1055.35 after paying for the first order.
The second order for the same items to the same address was $715 before paying and !$1033.62!.
Exact same order... Nectar is not only misrepresenting the total before payment, but also inconsistently applying tax to orders.
This was not a customer manipulated error. I added the items to my cart. I checked out. They charged me more than what was shown prior to paying and also applied two different tax rates. That's fraud.
The Nectar chat rep said "we'll just adjust the price on our end" and forced me to remove the weighted blanket from my purchase due to "stacking discounts".
I asked what the total was on their "corrected price".. he said they would charge me $762.56.
I quickly added the items to my cart again without the weighted blanket and my total was $707.94... again, another discrepancy in their pricing.
The rep had to make a shopping cart and provide me with a direct link for checkout so that the correct price was charged ($707.94). Took 3 different orders to get the price that was advertised. That's a bit insane.
I looked past Nectar's fraud attempt, called it a website glitch in my mind, and proceeded with the order because the price was finally correct. I genuinely wanted products.
The mattress arrived timely, I did not expect any further issues, so unpackaged it and waited for the rest of the items.
A few days later, upon opening the additional items, the "water-proof mattress protector" is not water-poof and appears to be made of tissue paper. It's 100% poly and has no laminate/lining. Imagine two layers of tissue paper.. but.. more see through. Using this would actually cause more damage to the mattress than if you just put a normal sheet on it.
The "300 thread count", "bamboo blend" sheets with head and foot tags are actually 100% polyester microfiber and crappier than the lowest version you can get at some discount store that offers cheaply made products. Imagine a big yellow $5 sticker on these sheets.. that's what you're getting.
The cool to touch memory foam pillow? Lol.. yeah right. At this point I was already back to contacting Nectar via chat.
The rep told me to allow 72 hrs for the pillow to fully expand. Really? Does cheap poly batting magically turn into a memory foam pillow in 72 hours? This is a $5 pillow as well.
I informed the online chat rep that the items are not acceptable and requested to get the items I ordered. The rep told me these are the "new version" and said "rest assured that both bundles are made up of the same materials". BS.
That is a flat out lie. There's not even a hint of truth in that statement. The materials are 100% different. Products receive are nowhere near the products listed in my order.
They offered me the same $40 refund as mentioned by other complaints for the discrepancy of the crap products compared to what they advertised. I declined.
They then offered to replace the crap pillow with an actual memory foam pillow.. At this point I was no longer interested in doing business with Nectar and declined their offer and told them I wanted a FULL return and refund due to their fraud and deceitful practices.
They now have me waiting for a rando independent contractor to come pick up the mattress. I can tell you that there's likely none in our area. This Sharetown return experience is about to be a joke. I've filed complaints with BBB, Attorney General and filed claim on my credit card.
They don't get to keep any of my money for defrauding customers. I do not want to do business with this company and the only acceptable outcome is that my money is refunded in full. I will take further action til that is resolved.
Every bad review has the same story.. they're negligent in resolving issues/misrepresentation of products. They don't care about harming the consumer. They blatantly lie and need to be held accountable.
Nectar Sleep is dishonest, defrauds the customer and will do anything to avoid refunding returns.
This has been many hours spent over several days just to submit claims to appropriate protection agencies and to deal with Nectar online reps. Save yourself the time and avoid them.
They did not use to be a [censored] company. 2017 my daughter received quality products and her order was as described. Decent mattress, waterproof mattress cover, memory foam pillow and a decent set of sheets. I know first hand what that order was like compared to what my order from April 2024 is like. This company is harming consumers and not being held accountable. Don't give them your money.
Claimed loss: 707.94
Desired outcome: Full refund and return of products. Not willing to do business with a company that lies.
