Paid for total landscaping, $4, 350.00. Had patio enlarged, dicomposed granite front and side yard, grass in back yard with border. Also, paid for 6 shrubs, 2 trees and 18 ground cover plants. All 18 ground cover plants died. Found out that this landscaper bought the plants at Lowes on clearence. Apparently these plants all got frost bit. I went back to the landscaper and complained. He agreed to replace under protest. Then he replaced the plants that we wanted with day lilies, not what we paid for. Stay away from this landscaper.
Moss & Sons Landscaping, did plantings that all died. Then they repaced them all with day lilies, not what I paid for. I have since replaced all the plantings in my front yard myself. I intend to do the same in my back yard. The plantings that this landscaper placed in our yard all died, because they were previously frost bitten. I know because I went to Lowe's right after this landscaper did and bought what was left on the clearence table, same plants. They also died. This project was done in May not July!
Now, I have found that Moss and Son Landscaping never buried the weeping water system for my back yard plantings. It was placed just under the decomposed granite and now it above ground. This Landscaper does the worst work EVER!
Very helpful information. A scathing review on the BBB site has convinced me not to deal with this individual, either, but to find someone reputable.
When I lived in Fernley, Moss & Sons was my go-to for all my landscaping needs. They installed a fantastic sprinkler system and laid sod for the best price I could find. They even followed up with me about winterization and proper maintenance a few months after installation. I also used them extensively to assist with the yards on some of my foreclosure listings. I highly recommend Moss & Sons landscaping, and continue to recommend them when someone asks if I know of a good landscaper in Fernley, NV.
Regarding Moss & Sons Landscaping...we had our entire front yard re-landscaped by them and they did a beautiful job. Scotty and his crew were courteous, professional and cleaned up completely after they finished. If we were to have any problems with anything they did, all we have to do is call and they will fix it. It's in the contract.
Now I must respond to Mr. Larry Rattcliffe and all of his petty complaints and remarks. First of all, I absolutely think you are lying about the plants. Scotty asked us to pick out the plants we wanted...we did. We picked plants that will not die in sub zero temperatures. You had that option too...why didn't you use it? I don't believe Moss & Sons would pick out half dead plants for anyone. I believe you are a professional trouble maker. Why would you deliberately smear a young man with a wife and children all over the Internet? That is disgusting. Furthermore, I took the liberty of looking You up on the web and found your Page. You did the same thing on it by blogging not very nice things about others and different subjects. Do you not have a life? Get one and stop hurting others with your horrible postings just because something went wrong that was fixed by Moss & Sons at no cost to you. I despise people like you. You must be so miserable you just have to spread your disease. Let it go and leave people alone. You are an awful person.
cement work put in now has cracks in less then 3 mos. not just one crack like a shattered mirror. They never checked on work that had been done. No check back. Gave me trees with decease which I have had to spray fertilize to try and save them. the lawn was done poorly had to have that redone. Butchered my trees, will not recommend them.
By law he was supposed to give you a detailed invoice. if you are unhappy in ANY way...call the contractors board and they will make him or someone else fix everything! Good news huh? I think you have 2 to 3 years to do this...just call.
Moss & Sons Landscaping completed this project for the Ratcliffe's in July of 2010. All work was performed as agreed by the contractor and the customer. As you will notice, the complaint made by the customer is not due to poor craftmanship or "bad work" as the customer said but rather a complaint about plants going dormant in the winter in Nevada.
