To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Don McElroy and my wife (Kara) and I own a 2014 Dodge Avenger. We had our vehicle towed to Louisville Chrysler Dodge on February 27th because it would not start. I was met by Marsha who advised me that they would do a full diagnostic to determine what was wrong with the car.
After the diagnostic was done, Marsha advised me that it was the Control Module and that it also needed a new key. She also advised me that it was going to be a total cost of $1,171.00. I told her to go ahead and fix it. I waited and waited and never heard anything back. After a week and a half I called back to be told that she was no longer my service provider and that I needed to talk to a guy whose name was Curtis. I requested to speak with Curtis and he was not able to come to the phone. I continued to call back several times and he would not answer my phone calls. After another week I finally got a hold of him and he told me my car would be done by the end of that day which was on Friday. After the week-end went by I called again on Monday and he told me the car would be done by the end of that day and we continued to go back and forth. He then told me after I had someone bring me to the dealership that they had replaced the control module and the programmed new key however, the car still did not start after two and ½ weeks. Now he tells me that they will have to do another full diagnostic to see what it shows and it will cost me an additional $200.00 for that along with any new parts and the labor. He advised me that my balance right now $1,173.00 and will be approximately $1.500.00.
As of today they have had my car for a full month. I spoke to the service manager Tim and he said it’s the process. My wife and I are at our wits end. There is no end in sight. I asked them for a loaner vehicle, and they advised they didn’t have one and that I could rent one for $350.00 a week. I have 2 small children that I have to take one to the daycare after which I have to take the other to the school bus stop. I have to be at work at 7:00 am which means I have to get my children up EVERY morning at 5:30.
I feel that I have been taken the advantage of, my family is being inconvenienced, my vehicle is being held hostage and they are continuing to accrue charges and the car is NOT being repaired. I am in need of assistance from someone. I was reading the reviews after dealing with this service department and it seems they have been doing this to people for years. Please help me and my family. We need our car back completely repaired and running!
Thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter and I will await your response.
