Logo Dog / Carlson Branding review: Logo Design Scam 4

I hired Logo Dog after a brief phone conversation with the owner of the company, Steve Carlson. Hired them based on what I saw on the website - probably a dumb move by my part. The site has some nice logos, and I felt if I got anything near that quality, that I'd be very happy. Steve also took the time to say bad things about a previous spot I used to get designs at - that should have been my red flag to avoid.

Long story shorter, the logos I received were a far cry from the professional logos he lists on his website, and when I communicated this very professionally to Steve, he took offense. I asked for a refund and instead of returning my calls or emails he sent me a link to his refund policy. Far from someone who wanted to work this out or make things right.

It gets worse - I emailed back and expressed my disdain for his narcissistic approach, and called him out of working from home in rural Minnesota. That must have hit a chord because Steve followed that up with legal threats.

I've filed a report with the BBB of Minnesota, and only hope that other people don't get caught up in this scam. When you hire someone online, there is a lot of trust that you ASSUME - in my case, I thought Minnesota was a place with reputation, but I was wrong. When I looked up Steve's residence and home (only) office on Zillow, I was upset I didn't check him out before hand.

He hides, doesnt' respond well to criticism, and is an all out phony. To boot, he'll threaten you afterwards when you take your voice to the web. Avoid at all costs.
