Not only was I charged for work that was NOT done, he went ahead and did unnecsassary stuff to my truck without my authorization like I asked him to get before working on it.
I came in with my truck for a simple alignment and to replace the water pump. A simple job that wouldn't be over $400. John Ingersoll held my truck for nearly an entire week and left me vaugue voicemail about "Finding more stuff wrong" and refused to pick up the phone numerous times. I had told him I didnt want work done without authorization. And he did just that. After several days I got a call that my truck is ready. Keep in mind all Ia sked and needed was alignment and water pump replaced. Without my permission John Ingersoll "fixed" my catalytic converter, the brakes (they always worked and felt fine) and my fuel pump (that was brand new I had it replaced less than a year ago!). I was livid. There was a $4, 325. 50 bill waiting for me.
I reminded Mr Ingersoll that I needed and wanted only two things done. We argue for an hour and he spews obscene language at me. He face was bright red and his voice levels and body language was starting to frighten me. I told him I was calling the police to help with the situation. I was afraid of what he might. Thankkully the fear of the law coming to his business put some sense into him and he calmed down a lot and asked me not to call. Almost begging.He offers to take the cataltyic converter out and knock $1, 500 off of the price.
Out of pure frustration I agree I needed my truck back the next day
Now my truck idles at 1800 rpm and I hear a knocking sound coming from an engine. Not usual for a our year old truck in good shape.He definitely did something to my truck out of vengeance and I am too broke right now to be able to take it to an honest mechanic.
Avoid doing any kind of business with John Ingersoll. He not only lied to me and ripped me off but did intentional damage to my vehicle. Beware.
