I have been an eBay member since March 19, 2007. I have 5, 137 positive feedback and I am a top-rated seller rated at 100%. I have never been accused of switching items in my entire time selling on eBay.
On March 4, 2012 I sold a brand new with tags Michael Kors dark brown purse and matching wallet on eBay for $424.00 to a member with 0 feedback who had just registered that day. I received an immediate PayPal payment as required in my listings. I mailed the purse and wallet on March 5, 2012 in a USPS medium flat rate box to Jennifer Flores 2416 Red Sails Dr. El Paso, Texas 79936. I purchased insurance and signature confirmation for a total shipping cost to me of $19.10. Tracking was automatically added for free. Since the box was heavier than I was used to mailing, out of pure curiosity, I weighed it. It weighed 3 lb. 1 oz. The package was delivered to the buyer on March 7, 2012.
On 3-7-12 I received an e-mail from PayPal stating a case was escalated against me. I didn’t know anything about a case being opened. Evidently the buyer that bought my Michael Kors purse and wallet opened a case in PayPal and immediately escalated it without even letting me know there was a problem. I called PayPal because there was nowhere to respond to the case. The dispute said the bag I sent was a Coach bag. No mention was made of the wallet. If I really did send a Coach bag, she would also be missing the wallet. I told the PayPal lady I was going to open the return box in front of my mail lady with a camera because PayPal instructed the buyer to send the bag back to me with signature confirmation.
For whatever reason the buyer didn't send the package back with signature confirmation like she was told to. I saw a box outside my front door 3-10-12. It was a Medium Flat Rate box that was mailed on March 7, 2012 from El Paso, TX. There was no postal stamp on the box indicating time sent. It was very light so I weighed it. It weighed 1 lb. 7 oz. I called PayPal. The girl told me she would stay on the phone while I opened the package.
It was a Coach bag from two or three years ago and it was purchased at a factory outlet. The Coach creed number is L0867-F13348. It was filthy on both the exterior and interior. The exterior corners were black and the bottom had black marks on it. There were yellow spots on the exterior and the leather was wearing and scratched. The Coach leather hang tag had lightened with age. The purse had makeup, pen marks, dust, and hair on the interior. The 3 interior pockets (1 zippered and 2 slip) had dust, dirt, and stains in them. The interior zipper pocket was unzipped, and the purse smelled terrible. I have never sold this bag. What’s interesting is that the buyer didn’t say in her dispute that I sent her a USED Coach bag, she just said a Coach bag. I only sell new bags.
The girl at PayPal told me to call the police and fax the report to her. I hung up the phone, called my local Sheriff Department, and went to take pictures of the purse. In picture #10 there was something in the front pocket. I thought it was a tissue, so after taking the pictures I took it out of the purse. It was a receipt from McDonald’s in El Paso, Texas from May 25, 2010.
When the police officer got here he made a report, which wouldn’t have been ready for 3-5 business days. The officer stated that in this case the buyer had committed 3 felonies. Also while the officer was here, the mail lady came to my door and told my daughter she had left the package the day before.
After the officer left I called PayPal again and told a different girl that I filed a police report and it would take 3-5 business days to get it. I told her about the receipt I found in the pocket of the purse. She added that information to the case. Also, the girl at PayPal said the purchase of my bag and wallet was made by a guest user and she must have funded it with a credit card.
I filed a complaint with the US Postal Service on line on March 11, 2012.
On March 12, 2012 I received an e-mail from PayPal saying that I lost the case and they were refunding the buyer from my account. I called PayPal and the woman said they already appealed the case for me. The reason I lost is because someone in the dispute department saw that I had received the package and they obviously didn’t read any of the notes in my case. This new rep bolded all of her notes so they would see them this time. I then filed a complaint with IC3.
On March 13, 2012 I received another e-mail from PayPal stating that I lost the appeal because my reason for appealing the case (item not as described, meaning I didn’t receive my Michael Kors bag and wallet back) and my buyer’s reason for the dispute were the same. PayPal released the money to my buyer. This is a PayPal policy.
At this time I have lost all of the money for the purse and wallet, as well as the items themselves. I am unable to recoup those losses and the buyer got a free purse and wallet plus my $424.00. Adding my $19.10 I spent to mail the package, I am out a total of $443.10

Her userID on EBay was flores29. Odds are she will use another one for her next scam, This is someone who knows how to play the system. If you encounter anyone from that address, avoid at all costs. I am not posting the names of other members of the household, as I do not know if they are involved. But, I would not take a chance. She is likely stealing these sort of items and selling them. Keep your eyes open! Again flores29 is the EBay ID for Jennifer Flores El Paso.
