My cousin and I bought 2 exotic shorthair kittens for our families from Amanda Halvorson at Hidden Acres Exotics. After taking them home, both had ringworms. She gave us a contract to sign when we picked up the kittens. We picked up the Kittens at a meeting place(Petco parking lot)as she only wanted to meet there. The contract stated she is not responsible for anything after we take the kittens. She assured us everything has been checked. We blindly trusted and signed the contract. We have 4 kids between us and all 4 kids were infected with ringworms. We had to inform the schools and it was an ordeal to get the ringworms out. I contacted Amanda at Hidden Acres Exotics and she has denied everything. PLEASE BE WARE!
My kitten purchased in 2016 also had ringworm which spread to my dog, myself, and my husband!
CFA has ruled Amanda(Hidden Acre) to be responsible for many others who have been affected by her practices and has taken away her license. We only hope to spread the word for others not to get caught in her web! Thank you for sharing.
For some reason I just found this thread! I bought an exotic shorthair in 2014 from her and he ended up having a stage 5 heart murmur! So he couldn't be fixed for fear of death. He shouldn't of even been alive. So glad she got taken care of! She deserves to pay...
I purchased an exotic kitten here in June of 2015. She had ringworm and and upper respiratory infection. Later she developed non healing eye ulcers. She had an amblical hernia. She also never sent the kittens registration. I spent thousands on this kittens health issues. I will never purchase from this breeder again.
