So, they took almost another ?100 off, making it a total of ?155 for just 12 hours of coverage. I told them that this was wrong, and after saying it two more times, they finally admitted their mistake.

But instead of apologizing, they just terminated my policy without my permission and still charged me for it. I had already told the person on the phone that I was driving to a family appointment, but they didn't seem to care. The way they handled the call was very unhelpful, and it caused me a lot of stress, especially since I was driving at the time. I ended up being late for the appointment, and when I finally arrived, I found out that the family member I was visiting had been informed that they had terminal leukemia.

It's clear to me that this company is only interested in taking your money. They will do whatever they can to increase your premiums, and if you don't accept it, they will just cancel your policy and charge you anyway.

She said, "In 2020, you had a claim for the windscreen of the car. This was by protected no claims bonus and isn't classified as a claim. I needed the windscreen changed for the MOT." They then came back and said, "We don't believe you have a garage and wanted me to take a photo of the motorcycle in the garage." I have never heard of this before. She obviously was looking to increase the premium. Then she said, "You can cancel if you want," which I did. Then all the documentation disappeared. Luckily, I took photos. After that, I received an email from Grove and Dean saying I am being charged £55 for a policy that hadn't even started. If I get one person to read this and then stop someone from applying for any type of insurance from this scam company, then it has been worth it.

I picked Grove & Dean for my home insurance policy through a comparison site. They called me within a few minutes to discuss the details. I mentioned that I usually have a lodger, but at the moment, I don't have one. Surprisingly, the price went up by about ?200 just because I didn't have a lodger right now! Obviously, I decided not to go ahead with it. It's important to note that Grove & Dean is a broker, not an insurance company.

To make matters worse, they charged me a ?35 cancellation fee for a product I had chosen just five minutes earlier, thinking I could trust them. Later on, another staff member called me, and I asked him to make a note of my dissatisfaction with the situation. However, this person was incredibly rude and disrespectful. Because of this terrible experience, I'm now warning my friends, family, and followers on social media to stay away from this awful company. They deceive customers to get their money and employ staff who are obnoxious and disrespectful. I strongly advise staying away from this company, even if they appear cheaper when compared to others. Save yourself the hassle and frustration that I have experienced. They are very unreliable!

I want to warn others not to be fooled by the company's response to negative comments, as they pretend to be helpful. I still stand by my initial review, and if anything, my experience has only gotten worse. I wish I could give them zero stars because they don't even deserve one star! They will always find an excuse to cancel your insurance and charge you a hefty cancellation fee. If you need any refunds, be prepared to be ignored and endure stress and depression. This is the first time I have regretted not reading reviews before signing up with a company, and I would not recommend GroveandDean to my worst enemy.

I wrote my review on Trustpilot, but it was reported as "fake" despite providing my policy number. It was removed until I had to send a letter and email correspondence to prove its authenticity. It took them many days to finally reinstate my review. I believe their intention was to discourage negative reviews and have them removed, knowing that many people wouldn't bother to go through the process of having them reinstated.
