Cost-cutting creates bed bug nightmare at extended stay america hotels
Be very careful if you stay at one of the Extended Stay America Hotels with this nightmarish bed bug problem that many of their locations are apparently having. Extended Stay Hotels do have some appealing aspects to their franchise, like large refrigerators. But this potential bed bug problem needs to be taken seriously. Before you check in: ask to see the room and pull up the sheets across the whole bed to look for bed bugs. Look carefully there and other places where bed bug infestations may be occurring. Take your time and look carefully. You don’t want to wake up the next morning covered in painful, itchy bed bug bites! I’m dialed into the hotel business and this rumor about widespread bed bug infestations at Extended Stay America has been making the rounds a lot recently. Now, of course, you never know for sure if rumors are true, but I’ve heard this rumor about bed bugs at Extended Stay so often recently that I have considerable concern that it’s true. In any event, be very careful in checking for bed bugs if you do stay at an Extended Stay America Hotel.
Recommendation: Try to find an alternative hotel, but if you have to stay at an Extended Stay America Hotel, look very carefully for bed bugs in the room before you check in
Prostitution going on unsafe
At the Melbourne west 192 location they have a known prostitute call service going on room 212 Kayla Barker she’s high traffic in and out she’s on many escorts sites such as list crawler her numbers used are [protected] and [protected] it’s very appalling that this is going on at such an establishment and know one knows or maybe it’s a pay to play over there either way room has a very bad aroma they are scary and I felt very unsafe and almost didn’t want to come out. This is mind blowing this is going on here at a reputable chain location someone needs to do something

Mixed Experiences at Sierra Suites
After exploring various reviews about Sierra Suites, it's evident that the experiences are quite mixed. While some guests have praised the friendly staff and clean rooms, others have highlighted issues such as bugs, uncleanliness, and poor customer service. It seems like Sierra Suites may have room for improvement in certain areas to ensure a consistently positive experience for all guests. If you decide to stay at Sierra Suites, it might be a good idea to set your expectations accordingly and perhaps reach out to the management in case of any concerns during your stay.

Having stayed in literally thousands of hotels domestically and internationally throughout my life, this stay is one of the worst for what is rated as 3 stars. Black mold, floors peeling back, toilet needed to be flushed by removing the lid, door and cabinet deterioration, tile floor had liquid stains, handle for shower feel off, carpet filthy., bathroom rod rusted thin, tv screen vertical lines fixed, appliances deteriorating, However, the bedsheets were clean, I did not see insects and the water pressure in the shower was excellent delivering hot water. Outside the room under the stairwell was a tremendous amount of garbage and open food containers. I checked out the next morning moving to another hotel close by for the next 6 days that has a solid 3-star rating that its reputation lives up to it. Posted on the mirror in the bathroom was a Stay confident sticker with a 10-point cleaning process #10 is where the problem is because if there is a management inspection nobody should be allowed to stay in a room like #214. If in fact the management had reported this to corporate, then that is where the problem lies because of negligence. I am truly disappointed with Stay America. Over the next 3 years I will be coming to Davie for extended periods of time as I have a daughter attending NSU and it would have been nice to use this hotel as it was very close. too bad!

Pricing - was given 3 different prices for room
I call to get pricing information. Phone answered by Dakota. I was inquiring about a booking July 1 - 5, she gave me a rate of $103.54 per night. And I also inquired about July 13 - 19, 2025 where I was quoted $109.71 per night. Then I inquired about the website offering $77.39 per night. She told me in order to get that price, I would have to book 7 days checking out the 8th of July - I agreed. Then she says, you would have to book 14 days to get that rate. I'm like which is it, then starts back peddling - saying she had given me incorrect information.
Desired outcome: I deserve the rate of $77.39 which she quoted me. Thank you.

Illegal eviction/overcharged rates & fees
Husband and I were staying at tech center ESA for four months and the Manager took it upon herself to begin eviction process in June for alleged nonpayment never have I heard of this for a hotel, Manager claimed we owed over $900 we knew it was false. Everything was paid according to our records then Aug we received Eviction Summons now claiming we owed over $1400 again false. Thanks to our credit card statements it proved we had paid everything, here is the contradictory information... according to the court paperwork the Manager filed our supposedly rate was $98.98 then it said daily how can we be daily when we informed them we wanted the weekly rate. Now we never we informed of what the rate was and ever time we asked for a receipt they never gave one, well a new employee did not know of the situation and actually gave us a receipt but it was not one of payments made it was a price report and what it showed was astounding the rate listed was not what the Manager stated for the court now to let you know in Colorado if an eviction is beginning the tenant is given a demand of compliance saying to pay or leave once the Demand is satisfied the process stops well we satisfied it and guess what the Manager did not stop it. Back to the receipt it showed a rate of $84.56 a $14.49 difference then it showed discounts and these were outrageous there were some as low as $0.30 to $104.99 but these did not reflect in the price the last section was the total and that was identical to the room rate also rate was listed as nightly for our whole stay being in this industry I was shocked to see this. There were no indications of payments made all the discounts amounted to over $1100 where was all that applied to. We headed to court and luckily received a stay till next court but this Manager does not abide by orders and illegal evicted us before the next meeting thankfully all evidence was already submitted. We left and have been without a place trying to make sure things are resolved though this Manager continues to make fraudulent claims against us after all calculations have been made we overpaid by over $2500. Do not ever stay at the Inverness location you will be severely overcharged, have basic necessities denied, no one is ever at the front desk if you lock yourself out after 11 pm you are out of luck they lock the door and leave a sign saying come back when we open at 8 am, if you receive mail you never get it until days later, the front desk staff and Manager are disrespectful, rude and have really no business being in hospitality. Do not stay here at all. Also we are not the only ones who are being overcharged and handed with eviction paperwork there is a possibility of six to ten more guest who are going through this but are not fighting like we are the Manager and one front desk employee intimate and make threats to them also they have disconnected the electric in the rooms of these guest. We are not longer staying there but we are still fighting this we won received a judgment but now heading back cause the Manager is fighting to reverse it claiming no knowledge of last meeting. Also we have been residences of this place and stayed well over 30 days and guess what we never received our tax refund be sure to always get you taxes back on the 31st day. Wish us luck
Claimed loss: Seeking all payments made that were never applied properly $3500Seeking all fees $1000Seeking compensation for mental and emotional anguish as well as for lodging Seeking tax refund for stay over 30 days
Desired outcome: Would like all financial compensations mentioned above to be paid, apologies for what we have been through especially for an eviction that was unnecessary and the Manager and front desk employee to be terminated.

Over 30 day stay — hotel refuses to refund taxes
In most states, should you stay longer than 30 days (requirements may be longer in some states), you’ll receive a “permanent resident exemption” from occupancy tax.
What this means for me: cost savings, of course. Once you commit to that 31st day, the occupancy tax for your continued stay disappears and you’ll receive a refund of the tax for your previous 30 days. Be sure to ask your hotel front desk for this. If they aren’t aware of the rule, you can do an online search for occupancy tax for long-term hotel stays in the state you’re staying.
I asked about this when making my reservation and again when I checked in. A couple weeks into my stay, I asked the General Manager (and even called the District Manager) Diana Espinosa. All I got for them was excuses and the run-around.
Claimed loss: Around $215 dollars
Desired outcome: I want the hotel lodging tax credited back to me.

Was charged for my service dog then told I would be refunded but now cant get anyone to call me back and they never issued my refund
My boyfriend and I checked in to extended stay in Temecula.CA on December 9, 2023 when we checked in we informed the front desk that we had a registered service dog. the front desk staff an older lady said there was a $25 a day pet deposit charge, I told her she was a service dog and she said there was still a charge. It's illegal to charge for a service...

My elderly father recently moved to Florida and was staying at the West Melbourne location extended stay Hotel. Unfortunately, my father was also my abuser and this relationship turned complicated. My father ended up passing away at this hotel, and the manager, Cassie Ferguson, I believe is assistant general manager, not only inserted her personal opinions and inflicted Pain on top of my trauma already experiencing, but also tampered with laptops deleted cell phone and refused to give me my father‘s belongings which I had to get law-enforcement to give her direction for a third time to do so I never did get a itemized receipt of the belongings which they are supposed to do by protocol and after restoring the information to the cell phone, I found images of this manager smoking pot with my dad celebrating Fourth of July I have tried to reach out to this company to get some type of resolution and have not heard anything back at the very least. This manager needs to be reprimanded for her conduct unprofessionalism and doing drugs with my elderly father on site really would like to hear back from someone. This man was a lifelong pedophile and building a cult where he was peddling T-shirts, and other merchandise in this hotel just unacceptable Thank you.

Read full review of Extended Stay AmericaGeneral manager kicking us out her first day back from vacation for nothing
I me and my girlfriend checked into extended to say about 2 weeks or about a month ago the manager was leaving the next day I guess to go on a vacation to get married after that we had several problems with our room the toilet wouldn't work it was literally like floating up other people's poop from my days before we had no access to our toilet so we ended up getting with the other manager who's very helpful Trish the assistant manager she helped us some very very much but she did what she could with resources she had and so we eventually just had no access to a toilet so she tried to move us downstairs to another room again that went okay for a day or two and then the toilet broke again this time the bathroom flooded up to my ankles so we at that point cannot use the toilet anymore unless it was just to go number one so we agreed that we would walk to IHOP anytime one of us had to go to the number two this went on for 3 days until the toilet completely broke and we had to start going to IHOP for every single bathroom trip we had so that of course let us from going in and out of the building sometimes and and on hours of the night because we had to use the restroom we did not have any restroom in our room for almost 6 days at all we did not want to have to leave here because the kitchen rooms and the price of it you can't beat so we agreed to just walk to IHOP until they can fix it after about a week and going I finally getting a key to go use the bathroom in another room where the first time we sat down and there a roach crawled almost behind so finally she loses to another room and mind you this is Trish who has been nothing but kind and she's amazing she should be the general manager because she has a great hospitality skills whereas the other manager comes back from being on vacation and comes down in my room and tells me that I am not going to have my my stay extended I said why not and she said because I said I said okay well right before and she left on vacation it was overheard by some of the staff that she said she had met me once before and she didn't like my attitude I think she had a case mistaken identity I've never met this lady in my life so when she told me that I was going to kicked out I went up there to try to smooth things over and I said I don't think we've met I just wanted to find out why we were getting kicked out she said oh we've met about seven times I said no ma'am I just moved here and I have not met you except for the day that you're leaving on vacation for about 5 minutes I said I honest to God just was going to come up here and smooth this over cuz we really like staying here and we don't want to check out and and she said we are not extending your stay you need to go but you're checking out by 11:00 tomorrow morning I said so we just stay here for almost 2 weeks with no bathroom didn't complain a bit when I opened my couch bed there was a loaded syringe and the mattress is completely submerged in pee I didn't gripe about that but I'm literally in tears with this lady a friend she goes if you can afford a room here you can afford one some more f****** else there's another lady that stays in the hotel that I guess is the hotel gossip I walked up on her telling the manager that she thought we were prostitutes and tricks cuz we were always going in and out of the room to IHOP and but she doesn't know if that's because we had to use IHOP's restroom because we did not have a restroom in our room the whole entire week we were here not at all we could not use the bathroom at all except for two shower so then I heard the managers say she didn't really want to see her anyways because of our sexual orientation because me and my girlfriend have been together for 4 years mind you she's kicking us out this morning in the freezing cold rain my girlfriend suffers fromsevere rheumatoid arthritis and when I heard her say that she didn't want us here because we were gay my mouth dropped she doesn't even know that I heard her say that I know that I'm taking a social awareness and discrimination class in my college snhu right now that I'm going to school for business administration and entrepreneurship and I know that that is not okay and you plan on taking this as far as you know she works for you which is our local news all that I'm asking is to not be forced to check out we really like it here we had no problems with any other managers and pay on time she's very very rude and I think it's okay so mistaken identity she swear she's meant me seven times and I'm so rude to her I honest to God just move back to this town and I've never met her in my life and I don't know what's gotten into her or who she thinks I am I think it just merely is because we're gay because I hurt her say that and I heard gossiping with another guess which is awesome I also have another friend who just checked out of the same hotel and who is it in town for a couple days the same manager while she was gone at the grocery store came in and downtown her 50 dollars to packed up all her stuff and send it outside and said she owed $20 for a room we'll come to find out she had a twenty dollar credit on her room but they didn't apologize or give her money back they kicked her out in the middle of the night freaking cold at 10:00 at night she's also filing a complaint today this manager should not be allowed to be here if she's going to discriminate against people for being gay all that we're asking is to be left alone that we don't have to check out of our room today cuz we paid every day on time we literally went for 6 days with no toilet while paying for everything full price Trish was an amazing she was an angel and did give us a discount in a couple of days comped when we had all the problems and I hope to God that she someday we'll take this other girls I've ever came across the hospitality but she takes orders from the lady who was so prejudice and rude and told her to come and tell us that we had to be kicked out because they were going to work on the roof over our room and one other room on our floor I'm on the first floor so that's a not true
Claimed loss: Being forced to move out of our room that we consider home right now and nowhere to go
Desired outcome: I just want the proper thing to happen to somebody who discriminates against somebody's sexual y identity and I would like to not be forced to to check out with short notice and not given a reado
Extended Stay America Hotel on Birch St. by John Wayne Orange County Airport
On Sept. 10th 2023 we checked into this hotel because my wife was having total knee replacement on the 11th and we needed a place where she could stay with out stairs for a short time. Worst mistake ever! One of the main reasons we rented the handicapped suite was for the recliner in the room. Upon check in we discovered the recliner was broken and management said there was nothing that could be done to repair it. My wife was never able to use the recliner at all. I needed a sharp knife for cutting some ham and it took many visits to the front desk and 3 days to finally get one. I asked the hotel manager if I could get a coffee pot and toaster and he said they did not provide those items at his hotel. Total lie. Found a desk card in room that said these items were to be provided on request. Talked to several maids who showed me these items on their carts. I needed clean hand towels to put over my wife's surgery site so I could place an ice pack on it. The assistant manager told me to go to front desk in the evening because there would be a better chance of getting clean towels. I would go down 3 or 4 times in the evening only to be told they had no towels. One evening on my 4th trip down I was finally given one hand towel by a very rude man behind the desk who looked more like he should be taking out the trash than dealing with guests. The only way I could get towels was to find a maid in the hall somewhere and ask her. When my wife got to a point in her recovery that she could go for a short walk with her therapist, the smell in the hall was so bad they could not stand it. Also the hall carpet was stained and dirty. Just walking down the hall to get to our room made me feel dirty. There were numerous other issues, but if I went on this would become a novel. My wife and I have stayed in many hotels in and out of the US and this is the by far the worst experience we have ever had. I talked to a number of guests and trust me not one was a happy camper. Would not stay in one of your hotels ever again and would not suggest any one else should either.
Desired outcome: A refund would be nice.
Bad hotel
Constant noise and rude management. Extended Stay America is BY FAR the worst hotel experience I've ever had. It's not even close. Compared to this experience, the second worst hotel is like a wonderful dream.
Think of all the different things that can be done wrong to make a hotel experience a nightmare, and they ALL happen at Extended Stay America, especially senseless, nonstop noise and a management that will only crank up the noise if you complain.
"Worst" hotel experience doesn't even come close to describing this business. Complain to the front desk and ask a different room where it might be quieter, and you're told NO, and then they crank up the noise louder. Contact the corporate headquarters, and you find out that all they did was send your complaint back to the manager at the front desk of the hotel --- the one that's well aware of the noise because you've already complained.
Stay as far away from this hotel chain as you can if you want REASONABLE quiet --- normal quiet --- a human environment and not a ZOO.
Absolutely horrible hotels. They all need to be shut down
This hotel is absolutely disgraceful. Rooms are to be non smoking, but they are all smoke filled and mold smelling rooms. Had 2 rooms reserved. I am currently sick from the smells from the hotel. Staff didn't seem to care, no one was wearing uniforms. Some even had house slippers on their feet. The rooms were absolutely filthy, holes, dust, dirt, pictures don't do them justice. They falsely advertise rooms on sites and they are not what they advertise. No response from staff, guest relations phone number, only open a case, but no resolution. Avoid this hotel at all costs. They will be reported to the state of Ohio health board, among other agencies since not getting any responses back from no one regarding the matter. 440 dollars for the stay. Don't bother calling corporate because they push back to general manager and the hotel, so that gets you no where. No one is taking any responsibility for these hotels.
Desired outcome: A full refund from my stay
Personal property was stolen
We had a booking at Extended Stay America, Boise Airport on October 6th through the 8th.
