Have you ever received that LinkedIn in-mail message that sounds like someone is trying to sell you services, while your profile clearly states you are out of a job? Well, not every one of those messages should be ignored. When John from Executive Career Partners randomly sent me an in-mail, I decided to take the chance to chat with him, if for no other reason than to listen to his sales pitch (given I had so much free time on my hands). I'm glad I did.

There is so much to conducting a job search - especially in a hard market. I would go so far as to say that searching for a job, creating the necessary assets, positioning yourself, and interviewing are skills you need to build - a muscle you need to strengthen. But if you are like me, those muscles have rarely been used, let alone strengthened.

I took the chance, and hired Executive Career Partners. My career coach Sarah kicked me into high-gear. The first 30 days felt like I had a full-time job - preparing documents, being interviewed by her - all to solidify my search strategies, assets, and stories to kick off my venture. Executive Career Partners will not find you a job (that is your responsibility). But what they will do is help you prepare your strategies, create the necessary assets, and teach you how to rise above your competition. If you invest in their guidance, you will produce results.

I couldn't have found a new job in my preferred career without ECP. I recently retired from the military and went a year and a half before starting my dream job. I received very few responses to my application from employers. I I had to do something different. I thought my best decision is to invest in my career. After about 5 months of working with ECP, I fixed my resume flaws and used jobscan to help me edit resumes to cater to the job posting. I never did that before ECP.
