This Breeder, which lives in Tombstone, AZ for English Springer Spaniels should raise a red flag right away. She breeds her females any heat without to stop and sells a year around 100 puppies. Most of her dogs reach not even the standard. She sells to brokers and sometimes on the street in Tombstone for any price. Her dogs don't have health clerance. She tells people all her females coming in season the same time, thats why she has so many puppies each time. If you follow her website or most of her ads in" Puppy Find" you will see how many she sells. On top of this, her stud male is from the "Bear Country Kennel" in Montana wich is one of the biggest puppy mills with sick dogs in the US. So please stay away if you look for a healthy good looking puppy.

We got a puppy from this place and she is missing a kidney. We tried contacting her and she ignored our efforts to tell her what we had found out. We later found another owner of a dog from her place whose dog also had passed away from the same condition.

we purchased a puppy from Sue for the kids for Christmas 12/2015. $3000 in vet bills trying to save our puppy. She was only with us for 19 days from the time we picked her up. Sue did not honor the health guarantee and refused any kind of reimbursement. For someone that breeds such great dogs I would think she would honor her health guarantee. It told me that if she did she would never make money because she ha so many sick puppies.

If I am remembering right. These folks came from a high elevation and thought 75 degrees was way too hot. they put the pup in from of the AC unit in their car and the pup got sick and with no Vet intervention died. My health guarantee doesn't cover new owners carelessness only hips and eyes and I tell everyone that.

We purchased a puppy from Sue 3 1/2 years ago and have had such a wonderful experience with him. No health issues, extremely smart and a lot of fun. I did extensive research before I chose II Shea and chose this breeder because of her commitment to the breed and her dogs. We visited the ranch and saw how extremely well and loving she takes care of her dogs and puppies. We are getting the house ready for puppy #2 and will be going to II Shea Ranch.

I went to my first dog show today and a woman who shows Bench breed Springers told me that she bought a Field breed from Sue and could not be happier with her dog. She told me that the dogs from ll Shea Ranch are all checked by a veterinarian for hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia and the eye disease that Springers can contract if its in their blood line. In other words, she was telling me that Sue Shea does things right. Yes, the dogs "run" on a large property, but they are screened by a veterinarian and given a medical guarantee (I saw this on Sue's website).

I also ran into a woman walking her Springer in our neighborhood a few weeks back. Since I am looking for a Springer, I inquired as to where she got her pup. She told me that she got her pup from II Shea Ranch in Tombstone (I'm in Phoenix) and she absolutely LOVES her dog and would definitely get another from there.

If these two recommendations don't tell you something (good) about the breeder, I don't know what will. My two cents. I'm writing Sue Shea right now because she has come so highly recommended.

Sad that someone would say these things about Sue! We love our Springer Spaniel that we got from her. Our Baylee first owner got sick and was not able to have her anymore, Sue took the dog back( like a good breader does) Sue came to our home with Baylee to make sure that we were a good fit for her! Plus she called two weeks later to check in on us and the dog. The things that the people have said about Sue are NOT TRUTH! Baylee is a Amazing dog and is very healthy and a fabulous pedigree!

And just like the original post, the breeder can make up anything she wants to try and defend herself. The breeder said it herself, don't believe what you read on the internet. Find a breeder through some other means than the net. I would not buy one of her dogs just because of the appearance of a mill. Happened to my parents with their current springer.. Thousands of vet bills later and they have a very sick dog. Mine are both healthy and came from 2 different family breeders from the farm country in Minnesota. Keep shopping...not much good ever happened in Tombstone:-)

I must defend myself again? Our home looks nothing like a puppy mill! We have 12 acres and several fenced for our dogs to run into from my house and they all sleep in our large house!

I too have been to Bear Country Kennel in Montana. That's where I got my two sweet springers, Maggie & Molly, over 11 years ago. It was NOT a puppymill. Both of my girls have been amazing, loving, beautiful dogs. II Shea Ranch in Tombstone breeds from the same bloodline as my babies, who couldn't be better dogs.

I have been to this breeders home and have seen her puppies, not only that we have one of the stud who is not from a puppy mill but from a champion breeder that bred once every two years. It is too bad that anyone can say anything and not even put their real name on the complaint. Quit making accusations unless you have real proof! These dogs are wonderful and great pets and champions.

I really take offense to anyone who believes this person with nothing to prove what she says. She has slandered my name and I wish I knew how to stop people like her. If you have the good sense to look me up you will see how much love and care for my dogs and [censor]es. I have done a lot of studying so I know what I am doing when it come to taking care of my little ones. I have 7 [censor]es that I breed only once a year to a year and 1/2, I can prove this. I have repeat buyers for my pups. I have a lot of satified customers and friends. I sleep in the same room with my pups during and after they are born. A few times I have had 4 females in season at the same time, they had a year off so I let them become breed. I am glad I have a 4 bedroom house. I do not make any money at this just enough to keep my dogs taken care of to the best of my ability. I am a member of the ASPCA and hate puppy mills!
