I recently had a bad experience with Custom Frame Solutions. The frames I received were of poor quality and I had to pay to return them. The customer service was not very helpful and they were quite rude. It was difficult to get in touch with them as they didn't answer my calls or emails promptly, if at all. One of the representatives even argued with me about the reason why my frames broke. They claimed it was due to the size (61x42 frames) but I knew it was because of the quality of the wood. Even wood glue couldn't hold the pieces together that they had sent me.

I was so frustrated with the situation that I tried to reach out to the CEO, Michael Slowey, on LinkedIn but he never responded. To make matters worse, they wouldn't refund me the voucher for the shipping/return and they charged me 30% for the "quality wood/materials" they used on my frame. This meant that I didn't get a full refund.

Overall, I would not recommend Custom Frame Solutions. The frames were cheap and of poor quality, the customer service was not helpful, and the return process was difficult and costly. I give them a 0/5 stars.

To my utter relief, the frame shop owner was a true gem. She was able to give my sad painting a precious new home and put the frame together (for a price, mind you). After all that hullabaloo, my painting is finally fit for a gallery! But, I can assure you, I won't be using Custom Frame Solutions for my framing needs again. I refuse to take any more chances with the possibility of another order gone wrong. My advice to you: go to a local shop and save yourself the headache and heartache!

Where do I even start with these guys? Ordered a frame, glass, and foam core to finally show off my cross stitch masterpiece, but it was a total nightmare. First of all, the glass didn't even fit the darn frame correctly. Not even close. And to top it off, the foam core they sent didn't even fit either! How hard is it to measure something? But it gets worse folks. The frame itself was supposed to be Whiskey Brown, which would have really made my colors pop. But instead, they sent me some weird charcoal black. Who even ordered that?

I placed an order in November 2020, and let me tell you, it took forever to arrive. It was not until late January of 2021 that my order finally made its way to me. And let me tell you, I was not happy with what I received. The cuts they made on the frames were so chipped and unprofessional looking. It honestly looked like they used a rusty old saw blade to make the cuts.

I tried reaching out to their customer service team, but that was a bust. I first tried calling them, but their phone number was not even working. So, I sent them an email and waited for a response. And guess what? It took them three whole weeks before I received a response. I had to inform them that I would be filing a claim against them if they did not respond, and let me tell you, that finally got their attention. They promised to make things right and put in an order for replacement frames.

I waited and waited for two whole months, but there was still no word from them. No response, no replacement frames. I was fuming at this point. I could not believe how terrible their communication was. I had enough and filed a claim with Paypal. All I wanted was my money back.

Can you believe what I was told? I had to return the frames at my own expense if I wanted to even have a chance at getting a refund. I mean, are you kidding me? I had to take responsibility for something that was clearly their mistake.

And after all that, the best thing they had to say was they could offer me a cancelation - but oh, I had to be down for a 30% cut. I said yeah, alright, and shot 'em back an email confirming the cancelation.

I had to get back on the phone with 'em AGAIN (five times, just to be clear) and had a real charmer of a customer service rep to deal with. Dude acted like the whole thing was my fault and had the nerve to tell me it was on UPS, even though that doesn't explain why it was taking me half a millennia to get in contact with them in the first place. All he said was I could return the frame and get my money back minus that 30% cut they'd already gouged me with. Ain't that just the cherry on top of the cake, y'all!

Also, I was lucky enough to receive a 45% off coupon, and their prices after the discount seemed reasonable. However, I am not too sure about paying the full price for them.

While I do agree that the cuts didn't line up perfectly and the frames may not be as high quality as Michael's custom frames, I still think they are a good value for the price. Especially compared to the price of Michael's custom frames, the Custom Frame Solutions were much more affordable. Additionally, I find it hard to justify spending hundreds of dollars on a custom frame to hang a cheap print.

It's now been over a month, and I'm still waiting for my correct frame! I've sent countless emails trying to follow up, but all my efforts have proven futile. To make matters worse, I asked what to do with the wrong frame, but no one responded. Should I keep it or what? I was, quite frankly, confused and frustrated.

Then one day, I got an unexpected visit from FedEx, who had apparently come by to pick up a package from me. It turns out the frame company had sent out a random woman's package without prior notice or approval from me. Needless to say, I didn't hand over the package in question as it wasn't mine. After reaching out to the company once again regarding this new development, I never got a response, which did not come as a surprise, to be honest.

Now, whenever I think about it, I strongly advise anyone not to purchase anything from Custom Frame Solutions. My experience ordering frames from them online was a complete nightmare. The worst part was that there was zero integrity, zero communication, and zero honesty from their part. If I had the option, I would give them negative stars. They were that bad!

They print a label and then won't even hand it over to FedEx or UPS for a week or more. You can ask 'em about it all ya want, but you ain't gonna get no response and they sure ain't gonna give you a clue as to when your package will actually show up.

As for deadlines, well, forget about it. They say they'll communicate with the "shop" and get it done as soon as possible, but that don't mean a darn thing. Their website even says they'll work with you to come to an agreement on deadlines if needed, but that's a lie. And don't even get me started on the email communication, if it even exists. When they do send you something, it's always the same canned message that could be sent to anyone. It don't feel like they actually care about their customers at all.

Look, I'm just like all the others who wrote bad reviews on this place, I wish I could give them a zero rating because they are THAT bad. I even bought a membership to get lower prices and it ain't worth it. It's better to pay more and go with someone else who actually delivers what they promise. These folks are liars and cheaters, plain and simple. Don't make the same mistake I did and stay far away from Custom Frame Solutions.

I'm sharing my not-so-great experience with Custom Frame Solutions. On February 24th, I dished out $167.00 for a custom frame (CFSYH277) from their gold line. I was stoked to get it because the frame was going to house a special piece of art that my husband and I picked out. The purchase experience was pleasant, and everything seemed peachy.

However, when the frame finally arrived, I was in for a rude shock, and honestly, I was pretty darn upset. Instead of the dark wood with Bastille Gold Leaf that I ordered, there was a plain blonde frame in the box! My husband and I even spent hours choosing the frame, and they sent us the wrong one. As you can imagine, this was a big deal since we had an already painted art piece that matched the dark frame. And boy, was it frustrating to have to face this issue when I had paid a premium price for it.

The thing that got me more worried was that I tried reaching them on the phone to discuss the issue, but there was no person to speak to, so it was all done via email. They sent me an email about a "framing expert" who'd contact me, but I didn't hear from anyone, and later on, there was an email trying to sell me their Canadian website service. The nerve!

As of 3/31/21, the issue is unresolved, and the thought of buying the frame elsewhere seems likely. I'm sure you can see why. And did I mention that they didn't even offer to cover shipping for the return of the incorrect frame? It's a mess.

I'd be more forgiving if they corrected the issue urgently and compensated me for disrupting my plans. I want the frame I ordered to be shipped right away. I don't want to go through another ordering cycle, and I don't believe I should be expected to pay for the return shipping of the incorrect frame.

All that said, I did shop at Custom Frame Solutions before, and I had plans of buying from them again. But this order's outcome will determine whether my future purchases will be with them or not.
