This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

This Christmas season I splurged and got my bf $98 sweatpants from Complex. The owner was the one who helped guide me to a pair of sweatpants. Local, unique, will fit a 6’1 male.

I of course, being 32 years old buying presents for Xmas, was making sure to get my receipts in case of return. I even mentioned that’s why I need a receipt to this guy, the owner.

On January 6th at 2:15pm I return to Complex and am serviced by the same short male with a cap - the owner. Right away he decided that I cannot have store credit or a return. He addressed his subtle sign of 7 days. When I responded with shock (expecting a normal retail 15-30 days with tags and receipts & unworn!), he started to insult me and said that I have cognitive dissonance when I simply and calmly told him I have never come across a 7 day return policy (which I admit, was kind of funny because I have a psyc degree and I feel he used the term so poorly). I said I have to leave a review (because I felt a responsibility at this point to warn other low income people of this guys retail games). He finally offered store credit but then withdrew his offer and said I was negative and threatening him with bad reviews. He said I would receive a bunch of clapback if I proceeded with a bad review. I responded saying I am simply responding in an equal manner to his service and language.

So anyways, clapback if you must but I still have a responsibility to share my truthful retail experience with this (not so) specialty clothing boutique.

Besides this guy being a total retail demon with the worst retail and customer service I have ever come across in Victoria, what he doesn’t care about is when he pulls sneaky retail [censored] - like hiding discrete signs mentioning 7 days return policy NOT APPLICABLE ON SALE ITEMS, NOT telling the customer it’s ONLY 7 days at sale, NOT giving them an itemized receipt at sale ON PURPOSE so he can reject anyone who tries to return with the only debit receipt he issued at sale - he is actually [censored]ing over real human beings.

I am a single mom, on disability, and have no financial familial supports. When I say I splurged on $98 dollar sweats for a bf - that is a tremendous amount of groceries or bills during a really tight season.

I haven’t come across this [censored]ty of a business or of a person in a really long time and I work in healthcare. Lol. He takes the cake. I don’t even have to wish him bad karma because he will tank his own business very soon. I will not miss this place. Good riddance.

I’m sorry for whoever hurt you.

Desired outcome: Full refund.
