I received a very flattering interview 1/7/16 from Jacquelyn Paige at Who's Who, who wanted biographical information on my listing for the Top Docs edition. She scheduled an interview and played phone tag daily for a week before. Her telephone number is [protected]. When she mentioned a special offer, I asked if this would cost money, as I am aware of imposters imitating Who's Who. She hung up so fast that I did not finish my sentence.

I had some woman call me about being an Honorary Member, and when she was finished asking me all these biographical questions about my business and professional life, she started talking about how much it will cost. I had the feeling this was a scam because her pitch was so obviously leading up to "how much it's going to cost me out of pocket", and any accolades or awards I have previously received never costed me a dime. I played along with it anyways just to see if the conversation would lead up to the discussion of how much it's going to cost me, and when it did, I honestly told her that I needed to speak with my husband first since we always talk about large purchases together. When I told the woman, who never bothered to say her name, that I wouldn't even spend $5 until I talked with my husband first, she abruptly hung up on me, and without saying a word. Thus, the moral of the story, trust your instincts, and trust that whenever an association wants to give you an award, you shouldn't have to pay out of your own pocket for it!

she won't take no for an answer--my boss won't talk to her and she said she will continue to call back
