UPS worst service / delivery company ever

Worst service / delivery company ever (I will hate your commercial when i see it now)! Didn't deliver on date promised, didn't even call to schedule appointment, package got misrouted, online tracking was misinformative (told me it's in philly, when it's in dc). Had to call multiple times to schedule an appointment and get status. I was told they only deliver from 10-5pm, 10-12pm is for commercial only, they don't work on weekend, they packed everything into truck at 5am which means no more delivery appointment that day if your package is not on truck. They dropped off my big package on the sidewalk in the rain, which means you need two persons at home to carry it inside. Supposed to get my package monday, waited all day monday, they didn't call until tuesday, didn't get it until Friday that week! Also, they didn't apoligize for not delivering on time.

In the past 2 months we've used UPS Freight twice. Was not a good experience the first time; and worse this time.

A couple months ago we had 1 pallet going from Austin, TX to Fort Worth, TX. Most carriers deliver next day or 2nd day depending on time of pickup and when it arrived in the area. UPS Freight was 2 weeks late, missed multiple appointments. Then charged me an extra fee for missing appointment.

2 weeks ago I was in NJ buying some equipment from a place closing out. 6 full pallets 48x48x96 (9000 lbs in total) in perfect cube style pallets (all boxed) heavily plastic wrapped. My freight agent said that UPS Freight was best choice to assure a timely pickup (I was flying out next day). They did pick up on time. Then they called me the following week and made a delivery appointment to deliver on the 6th day from pickup. Great, not too bad. Thursday comes...no delivery. Check tracking, last scan was in TN. Monday, nothing. Tuesday nothing. Now we are 5 days past delivery appointment. Now they can't find my stuff and the pallets are 'lost.' WORST FREIGHT COMPANY EVER. To top it off they were $600 more than AAA or Roadrunner, but I paid that because they were supposed to be the best.

STAY AWAY FROM UPS FREIGHT. My business neighbor in the cart parts business said that they are doing this across the board, and everyone is dropping them because of it. Stuff lost. Arriving weeks late, even 6 weeks late. Refusing to allow recipient to pickup from UPS when delivery missed. Something is rotten in this company and they are nothing like UPS parcel service.

UPS communication is terrible. The so called customer service doesn't know what they are doing. They make promises that they cannot deliver. This is how FEDEX used to be some 10 years ago, and they lost a lot of customers. looks like UPS will go through the same. I am not sure if I will use UPS freight again. Went through three customer service, all three promised to manage a timeline, in the end the dispatch supervisor said he hasn't seen any note from any one of the three customer service. They must be on different planet.

UPS Freight is pretty much the worst freight company I have ever dealt with. They lie through their teeth, are rude, have a different story every time you call them. They won't even transfer you to anybody else, they either flat out refuse or the call gets conveniently dropped. They charge for a certain service level for a shipment that they actually know does not qualify for that service level, and then later they make up some shady excuse why they cannot refund you the guaranteed rate (as in: our policy says it has to be picked up before 5, but we picked up after 5, so now our guarantee is null and void, it doesn't even transfer to the next day - how convenient for UPS!)
The hours on the phone and the aggravation to listen to their shady excuses that change depending on who you talk to is not worth going though - do yourself a favor and pass on UPS Freight, especially if you actually need a shipment at a certain time.

Ups freight is the worst freight company I've ever had to deal with, makes an appt for delivery then calls you and cancels it after your already home waiting 2 hrs into a four journey window, their excuse it was to big to fit on the truck, we will have to inconvenience you another day when we can load it on another truck, my question is shouldn't they know this before making appt for delivery? It is their job, no? And the girl. Talked with on the phone was very nasty about it like she could've of cared that I lost time out of work...if you can do NOt use UPS freight, you'll be sorry you had!

Can't seem to get my package delivered. And I'm the one having to call all the time... And even when the status says will try and deliver it the next day they won't and want to schedule for the day following. They missed the original delivery. Couldn't make it by the agreed time.

Monday, August 15 2016 UPS Freight arrived on our campus. The driver said he had two pallets for us. After climbing up in his trailer as I was fork lifting my pallet jack into the trailer. (he asked to borrow it because he said he had no room for his after his truck was loaded) he said he could not find the 2nd pallet. I said OK just make sure we make a note that I am only signing for the one. He did that on the trip ticket I was left with.
I waited until Thursday, Aug. 18th before calling the vendor to let them know what happened. The vendor tells me I actually signed for the entire shipment. I called UPS Freight, and after several minutes of the online crap, I was finally connected to a CS rep. She informs me that he did log his paperwork in as the entire shipment was delivered and signed for. After several minutes on hold, she says the driver made an error, and if they can find the missing pallet they will try and deliver it to me today. Not trusting that, I called them this morning to confirm my delivery, and their records show the delivery was made Monday Aug. 15. The Freight Bill # is [protected]. I have no packing list, or invoice as Im sure its attached to the missing pallet in question.. Now I'm forced to start the claim process. Not too happy with UPS right now. Please help

Six weeks and an int.al parcel sent via UPS is not delivered yet. I discovered they had the parcel since weeks but did not contact the client. Unbelievable! And when they have been contacted they not even apologised for the mismanagement.

I live in Prescott Az., 2 hours north of Phoenix. I just got off the phone with ups on the status of my package. It arrived in PHX. on 3/25 and was scheduled to be delivered to me on 3/26. Now it's the 27th. so I called to see what is going on since there web service says my package is still sitting in PHX. There response was I have a rural address so they needed to contact me for a delivery time. How is a down town business address a rural one and why didn't they call me when it came in or at least on the day of so called delivery? She stated that I was not in Phoenix so that made me a so called rural address, what a crok. Glad I called them or I would still be waiting for the mystery call for sure. Will see if it comes on Monday by 8 am. as she promised.

I am at the right place. UPS freight called me to set up appt. No show no call. UPS freight calls me again on Monday March 2nd and says weather delay but tracking info says different. So we set up another apt for Friday March 6th. My wife calls me today Tuesday march 3rd at 6 pm and tells me that UPS freight is here and box is damaged. Driver says it looks like a fork lift went through it. Yep, UPS freight is at the bottom of my list just like wall mart. I told my wife to refuse delivery and item is on the way back to seller. A phone call about first delivery would have avoided this complaint, but I see I am not the only delusional victim since both sides of this coin are represented on this complaint page.

UPS lack of attention to detail

Cliff notes:
1. UPS memo request me to leave a cheque payable to shipper in order to receive package
2. A cheque is made out to shipper
3. I come home and see my package
4. Receive another note requesting a cheque
5. Receive another note stating I need to make a cheque out to UPS, not shipper
6. I leave cheque payable to UPS
7. UPS guy calls me saying I need to make cheque payable to UPS. I say I did.
8. I get an invoice requesting money for UPS
9 I call CSR, she asks how I want to pay. I tell her the situation. She tells me her notes say a cheque is being processed.

Conclusion: UPS made mistake, keeps asking for money. CSR is careless, almost made me pay them twice.

Long Version:

I had a package delivered to me when I was not home, so the UPS guy left a memo stating that he would leave the package the next day if I write a cheque for customs brokerage. It stated, “Make cheque payable to the …” and he checked the box that said “shipper” and not “ups”.

I prepare the cheque to his request, leave it out along with the UPS memo for him to pick up the next day. When I come home from work, I see my package at my door.

Couple of weeks later, I get another UPS memo on my door stating that I need to pay for customs brokerage. It did not state any other details. I ignored it, since, I got my package and had given ups a cheque. A week after, I get another memo, this time the UPS guy gives me the details: “You had made a cheque out to the shipper, we need the cheque payable to UPS” “We will return on: Monday” So now I realize that the UPS guy made a mistake the first time and chequed the wrong box. I made a cheque out to UPS and left it and the memo out for them to pick up.

One week later, a UPS guy calls me stating that he had left a note for me and he had not received the correct cheque from me. I fully explained the above. He said OK and hung up.

Recently, I got in the mail and invoice for the custom brokerage amount. I called UPS Canada, they asked me for the invoice number. After I gave it to her, she asks how I would like to pay. I explain the situation above. Then she IMMEDIATELY says that her notes say that a cheque has been received and is being processed. I can’t believe how she had not payed attention and was so close to making me pay twice.

In the end, it was a not a detrimental experience, but the lack of attention to detail, carelessness or incompetence has made me think twice about trusting them with any package or payments. Next time I will use DHL or Fedex just for less headaches.

PS They still have my cheque that was made out to the shipper. If they like driving to my house so much, they should drop it off so I don’t need to worry about it getting cashed out. Also still wondering if the correct cheque will ever get processed.

UPS rude and arrogant service

Why are all the drivers always so super angry? Unfortunately this is not the first time a UPS driver has taken it too far but this time was one of the worst. He left 30 boxes in front of my garage making a perfect barrier sp that no car/person could get in or out of the garage. He was so angry that our side walk way was was blocked by a car so when i volunteered to move it, he said "sure..because i have all day" (sarcasm). We then got into an aggressive verbal argument that lasted for at least 5 min; it was painful. He got so angry at one point that he banged a box with two of his fists. I thought he could have hurt me. He said "ill be back in one hour to move these" and left.

I don't think that UPS quite understands the concept of customer loyalty.

UPS delivery rules & regulations

UPS is the LEAST user-friendly/customer oriented company that I have ever dealt with. I live in the city. I don't have a car. I work 9-5, and I live in a building w/o a doorman. UPS only delivers 9-5 on weekdays (when everyone is at work), and will not leave your shipment in a lobby or in front of your door (even if you authorize them to), nor are they authorized to call you to come open your front door if your buzzer is broken. After 3 attempts, they will send your shipment back to the sender, or you can authorize them to hold your shipment at their designated office. So, you pay for shipping, and essentially have to go pick your stuff up anyway. The only office where I could pick up my shipment is 3 trains, and 1 1/2 hrs. away from me ONE-WAY, AND it is only open until 6pm. So, I work until 5pm, and it will take me 1 1/2 hours to get there, and by then it will be closed anyway. Here's the real kick in the pants, there is a location right around the corner from me, but they won't leave my package there because I do not have a mailbox there. When I called to complain to a supervisor about their ridiculous polices, she told me to contact the sender and try to arrange for another delivery company to re-send it. How does UPS even stay in business like this?! NEVER AGAIN will I purchase anything where it needs to be shipped via UPS!

UPS Employee horror story

I have been reading many of the complaints that are included in this site and would like to share and sympathize. I worked for UPS from 1985 until 2002 as a delivery driver. UPS changed dramatically after the death of its founder Jim Casey in 1987. From that day forward nothing mattered to management other than the almighty dollar. Customer service is a joke. Employees are treated like slaves. Working conditions are third world at best. UPS had a solid reputation during the late 80's and early 90's but there was a dramatic shift to the bottom line at all costs. Early on management was promoted from within but as all companies move toward a lower wage this trend stopped. This is by far the worst place I ever worked in my life. Supervisors who are in way over their heads is the norm. Safety is a afterthought. Most centers need to be audited by OSHA. But employees who speak up or take action are targeted for suspension and termination. Work weeks of 55+ hours for drivers is a regular occurrence. Let me explain in detail. As a driver you could start work at 8:30am and will not be off the street until 9:30 or 10:00pm. Fatigue is commonplace. During my time I nodded off routinely when I was driving. Safety at UPS is a smokescreen. Prozac is taken like candy by drivers, divorce is ramped, hypertension is common, production levels are unrealistic, management is unskilled and combative, and injury is considered weakness and lazy. I spent 17 years at this "hell hole" and was paid very well for my services. But I came to the realization that it was just not worth it. I quit and am happier for it. Most complaints that you may have are a direct result of a poorly managed company where stress is used as a tool for greater production, no matter what the cost to employee or consumer.

I work at ups for 19 years..I worked both as drive and management. I was blackballed for having a relationship with a co worker which I understood that one of us had to leave the company which was addressed and complete. I was the one who stayed and was the one blackballed in the UPS world. It was like I had become the enemy. I was a good employee until this relationship happened and after reviling they relationship I somehow was the bad employee. During my time of employment I came across a problem that happened with the truck wash at one of our centers. We were losing water from the recycling water in the wash bay and no one could figure that t out. Previous to this when I walked many years thru the building may workers would say not to drink the water. For years this was the comment which I thought was a joke but little did they know what they were drinking and I am sure they chemicals that were washed in the truck was such as hazardous chemicals that may have spilled into the brown package cars and washed out in truck wash. It came to my attention (I did not know this was not installed) a black flow valve was not installed from the truck wash to the main building and when the truck wash was charged to wash truck the water from truck wash would go into the drinking water in the hub. I did relay this to the Teamster BA at this time but nothing was ever followed up by him. He worked for UPS before becoming a BA.(he passed away from cancer). I am not saying this problem caused this but recently I have seen a few workers both management and non management have passes away with cancer. This happened in the 90s and I am sure re more workers that I know were affected by this situation. It was a well kept secret and I was told not to bring it to anyone’s attention. They did fix the back flow valve between truck wash and building. To this day I wish the BA would have addressed this. I will say during my time at UPS I enjoyed my jobs before they blackballed me. I am not writing this because they blackballed me. It was a blessing because I found out I did have a life after it happened. I did get cancer and think it was from this place of work. I am not bashing UPS I-think it was unfortunate thing that happened.

I have friends who work for UPS in Springfield Illinois and let me tell you they treat their people like ### ! The are bullied and harassed by management. Oh and the management now, the college kids who maybe was a driver helper for one Christmas, what a joke. They have no idea what it's like to be a driver day after day. They give rural route stops on one truck numbering 180 that's just stops, not package count. They are now taking away bonus time by screwing the drivers and making them eat the load transfer time (truck to truck)away from the center. UPS used to promote from within. You know those people who actually know what's going on and know how to get the job done. You know it's bad when the center posts the seasonal Christmas driver positions and not one loader or pre loader applied. UPS driver was once a coveted job. There is something very wrong with a company that manages through fear and intimidation rather than ownership and pride. I have suggested them taking a video camera in for every conversation with management. I am a state trooper and their job is way more stressful than mine on a daily basis. Safety practices OSHA would cringe. There's one other little thing of if you are injured you still have to work at the center for 29 days before workers comp will cover you. What the hell is that. Hey teamsters really ? letting your people be treated like that wow.

My daughter paid an extra $100 for delivery of a desk to a residence. The desk is one she moved by herself; she is athletic, 5'8" and a normal build. They first quoted her one price, but then changed the amount to double that after she agreed to have them ship the desk. She was leaving the country and could not spend days trying to get them to honor the first quote. Finally, they honored it, and agreed to ship the desk to our front door.

The San Francisco person who helped her palletize the desk was FANTASTIC and HELPFUL. They were running late but still made sure to get the desk that day because she was leaving town. Excellent.

In DENVER, SERVICE WAS THE WORST OF ANY DELIVERY I HAVE HAD IN 10 YEARS. I was told that the desk would be LEFT IN THE PULL-THROUGH DRIVEWAY IN THE SNOW, because they aren't "allowed" to bring it up two steps to the door. IT WAS ONE STEP, OF LESS THAN 7" BUT HE CALLED IT TWO STEPS. I was then told I could sign the delivery slip NOW and accept any damage that may occur or they wouldn't even take it off the truck; rather they would take it back to the shipping center and "dispose" of it or charge me extra to bring it back.

WHAT A RIP OFF JOB. I think they were trying to get me to tip them to do their job. Had they been business-like, there would have been a tip. Instead, I was threatened with extra charges or having the desk disposed of.

It gets better - I am 56 years old and can move the desk with very little help. My husband had shoulder surgery, which is why my daughter paid extra to have it delivered to the house instead of a storage locker site. The desk fits in a bedroom and is not a huge piece of furniture.

To top it off, they then told me it weighed more than they realized. How did it gain weight between receiving and delivering it?

Brian, the "boss or dispatcher" was the one that threatened me. Thanks, Brian. I have built houses for a living, have lived in several countries and have moved a lot. Your name will always be remembered by me because of your attitude and threats. Exceeding bad service.

Our daughter, who is moving to Europe, was thinking of using your company for moving her other things. No way she will do it now. I called her at the airport to verify the terms of service while the delivery was here.

I have photos of the desk, the driveway, the steps. I would like to post those photos, also.

Bought electronic item on ebay. It was shipped via U P S & extra insurance from a separate company was purchased to cover the $589.00 item . Item was damaged in shipment & claim filed . U P S said they only pay insurance claim to SHIPPER & that I must send item back to shipper . This was done & shipper was PAID . Then shipper would not reimburse me any money & would not return the item . U P S was no help as they FULFILLED their obligatuion .

The seller of the item turned out to be a thief also as promising to send money & later promising to send item were just lies .

I had a UPS store package and ship my clutch for my semi-truck. My son-in-law carried the clutch to their package area, it was heavy. The store employee packaged with my preprinted label. It was delivered damaged/broken/non repairable. Look's like it was dropped. We filed a claim, which has taken over a month to get any results. UPS is ONLY giving me a $100.00 for a $1500.00 replacement clutch. UPS maybe somewhat be cheaper than other shipper, but they don't stand behind their stores or franchise's. They are at fault for the damage because of improper packaging. If you are going to ship UPS make sure you package your own products, insurance it to the max. Maybe you might get lucky for any damage, receive full value not a crumby $100.

I posted a wedding ring online through craigslist. The ring was worth $26000, but I had it for sale for $20000. I was contacted by a supposed couple that lived in Louisiana. They stated that they were headed to Denver for their anniversary. I spoke to them off and on for about 5 days. They decided that they wanted to buy my ring. I researched the safest way to ship the ring and get payment. I called UPS several times and they all told me that through COD, they would pick up whatever form of payment I requested, and if it was not what I requested they would not hand over the ring. I decided to ship through COD. I also decided on payment thru USPS Money orders since you can’t stop payment on them. I went into our local UPS store. After the cashier, by the name of Kristin, had everything processed, I noticed that my receipt said “Cashiers check or money order, ” I questioned her on this because I specifically requested USPS MONEY ORDERS ONLY for payment. She told me that they come together as one option and then you specify which payment you want in the notes below. In the notes below, it said “USPS MONEY ORDERS FOR COD ONLY!” I have this in writing on my receipt. They also wrote in black, bold, writing on the box “ USPS MONEY ORDERS ONLY”. UPS delivered my package on September 16, 2010 and took payment of an OBVIOUSLY, fake cashiers check and handed over my ring to a man and didnt check ID. I didn’t receive payment until September 26, 2010. I insured my package both ways for $20000 and paid hundreds of dollars for the insurance. I have been calling UPS since then. Nobody ever returned my calls. Finally, today I get a call from UPS saying “Sorry, we can’t help you, we did our part and delivered your package and collected payment. They did not collect the payment requested. The driver basically picked up a check that looked like a 2 year old drew it on a piece of construction paper and handed my ring over to somebody other that the person it was addressed to. the detectives working on the case called into the security dept thur ups and they told them " tell her to sue us, we go thru this all of the time and we always win". I would have never shipped my ring if I knew that UPS was lying to me. They told me they ckecked ID first, collected whatever form of payment I requested, and then handed over my package. They didnt do either. I am now out a $26kwedding ring, that was insured thru UPS, and the have the audacity to tell me "sue us".

my husband was supposedly hired on to work this Christmas season helping the ups drivers. what a joke!
he was in the very first group that was trained - then, he was not called for 3 weeks. when they did call, it was very sporadic and he was limited to the number of hours they would let him work. the driver would get a text telling him to have my husband stop working. he worked for 5 different drivers - EVERY SINGLE ONE of them praised his work and said he did a fantastic job.today, dec. 21st - the busiest day of service for ups, they decided to do "safety checks" - meaning they sent out some sniveling weasels to go around and see if everyone was wearing their seatbelts. first of all - my husband was delivering in the business district - so it was one delivery every 8-10 feet. secondly, not one driver ever told him he was required to wear the seatbelt in those cases. some creep saw him - and called the management people and they fired him immediately. the driver was furious - saying the company heaped all of these extra deliveries on them but then did stuff like this.
i will NEVER agaijn use ups for anything - i am appalled that they treated my husband like this - it is bad enough that he got laid off months ago from the hotel business - this was absolutely ridiculous!

I ordered some things from a nursery... 3 trees... I get delivery here all the time by UPS and often they screw it up. This time, the idiot couldnt find my address. No calls for directions from him or anything! I called the office 3 TIMES and gave directions.. Still a no show. Last call to them they said they would re schedule delivery on Monday.. that waould 4 days from the supposed delivery date. These are LIVE trees! and cannot be in a box that long. I told them to foget it, I would pick them up myself. I paid 50.00 in shipping charges and then have to pick them up myself? Well, the next day I drove out to get my trees... This is in Sallisaw Oklahoma. What do I find? Locked doors. So I walked around to the back loading dock. No one. I started calling out hello! Finally I found a guy hid out in a small building. He took my shipping statement and went to find my parcel. You wont believe what we found there at the Sallisaw UPS Depot. There were packages strewn everywhere around laying in the dirt, tossed under a picnic table and even out in the parking area (gravel and dirt in behind the UPS depot where they load trucks.) I picked a couple of them up, and they were full, taped, and addresses on them for shipping. And here they were tossed in the dirt, gravel and hot sun, just laying out there. Anyone could just walk off with them. Not stacked up, not in a neat pile... I'm saying it looked like they just threw them out and left them lay where they landed. No wonder UPS is always losing packages for people! Its probably stuck under a bumper or a wild dog drug if off somewhere. I couldn't believe it! These people need put out of business and they have lost me as a long time customer. I have always shipped UPS and I do alot of shipping with our business. No more!

In the past two weeks I have had parcels left on the doorstep by UPS in pouring rain with no plastic bag or wrapping of any kind. This resulted in the shipments being ruined. There is often no one at home during the day and parcels left in this way are always subject to the vagaries of the weather. The United States Parcel Service seems to do better and will wrap a parcel which usually keeps it safe. The delivery drivers of UPS pay no attention to the weather, is this normal company policy? If so, I am going to do everything possible to avoid using the Useless Parcel Service whenever possible.

I recently sold an item on an on-line auction and pre-paid the UPS shipping label. It was supposed to be a 3-day delivery, but after two weeks I was notified that the package had never arrivbed. Upon checking the tracking number, I found that the package had never left the UPS Store that I had dropped the package off at. Upon calling both UPS and the UPS Store to inquire about the package, I was constantly passed on to several different and very rude who denied ever having recived the package for shipping. I took all my recipts to the store where I left the package and they still denied that I had ever dropped it off or paid for the shippng, even though I had all my recipts including the one from Patpal. Four days later the package showed up on my front lawn, crushed and with half the shipping label missing. No explanation has been forthcoming from UPS of where the package has been for the past month or what happened to it, except that it looks like it was run over then just tossed out a window into my front yard. I will never do business with this company again.

UPS big mistake!

My dad died in Indianapolis. He had a small chest of drawers my grandfather made in 1971. It was made of solid wood by a career cabinet maker. I wanted the chest, so I double wrapped it in bubble paper, put it in a Staples box and shipped it to Seattle via UPS, through a Staples store. Big mistake! First, UPS can't deliver in snow in Seattle. Apparently the chains they put on their trucks don't work in residential neighborhoods. The shipment was 1 1/2 weeks later than their own planned arrival date.

When the chest arrived, the bottom of the RH side was crushed. Clearly the chest had been dropped on that side. I attempted to file a claim through UPS only to totally get the run around. They absolutely would not deal with me as far as filing a claim. They told me it is up to me to work it out with Staples, which is who their contract is with. Any reputable company would actually desire to keep customers. Apparently not UPS.

Lesson learned, don't ship via UPS if possible to avoid. Especially don't ship through a "contracted outlet" like Staples or the UPS Stores.

UPS ups stole package

UPS employees stole my UPS package. A family member shipped a brand new handbag worth $2, 600 via UPS 3 day guarantee. The package was packaged properly with the handbag wrapped in cloth, then placed in a small box. This small box was then placed in a larger box. The larger box contained styrofoam and padding. When I received the UPS package, the packing tape on the bottom part of the box looked frayed. In addition, while the top and sides of the box were taped with many layers of packing tape, the bottom of the box was only taped with one layer of packing tape. Also, the box was very very light - as if nothing was inside. I opened the box and inside was the small box. The small box was empty - only the cloth remained. Someone at UPS had opened my package en route and took out the contents. I have contacted UPS but they are being non-responsive and uncooperative. UPS just keeps on telling me that "they are sorry this happened" and that "they are looking into it". UPS should take responsibility for this because it is one of their employees that stole and committed a federal felony. I will never use UPS again and will bring an action against UPS in small claims court.

If i may say, refrain from accusing anyone unless you have proof that he or she have committed a crime.
Contat UPS and ask for a claims supervisor and request a complaint form. I'm sure you may be able to find that on www.ups.com . You may (also) contact your local police department and verify if you can file a stolen property report with them.
Good luck.

UPS non delivery of parcels

I can't believe what a bunch of ###s work for UPS, They claim that they delivered a package to me on monday afternoon, and left it on my porch. Which is fine, but I was home and nobody left anything on my porch. This isn't the first time that UPS has screwed up. I had a package overnighted to me from Phoenix, and it took mr five days to get it. Their excuse? They could'nt find my address. That's funny, the pizza guy does'nt have a problem. Fed-Ex does'nt have a problem. Everybody on the face of God's grey earth does'nt have a problem just UPS. I'm under the impression that these jokers are blowing me off. They are a totally unrealiable company and their so-called guaruntees are pointless. " What can brown do for me?" Apparently not much. D. Jewell

UPS no customer service/ nonsense

I was sent an package that need to be signed for. After UPS dropped off the call tag, I went to the website to change the delivery to will call. I received an confirmation email that night. The next day, another call tag from ups at the door with a "final attempt for the third try". I called ups phone number on from their web site and after giving my information was hung up on. I called back and restated the information, than was proptly dialled over when asking for confirmation and hung up on. The follwoing day I went to the will call location and showed both the first and second call tags left by the driver. The package could not be found, even though the ups call number staffers assured me it would be at the will call location. I proceed to the delivery destination, home, and found the day three call tag on the door, with the box checked return to sender. Great customer service and pride of having a paying job from all ups folks I interacted with at ups.

I contacted the sender and paid to have the package reshipped through Fedex, and... no more hastle, picked up at Fedex will call location 1st time. I love Fedex, they get it right the first time.

I hope Fedex buys ups and straighten's them out!

UPS Poor service

I just bought something online and the company I bought the items from chose to ship the items by ups basic. I tried to track my package online but there was no delivery date listed.

I called ups and was told by one of their agents that ups basic will ship a package part of the way then hand off delivery to the united states postal service to complete delivery!

This is the most ludicrious things that I have ever heard!
Why does ups even bother to get involved with delivery in the first place if they don't intend to complete delivery!

We all know about the postal service and package delivery!
What a joke!

Ups has lost their credibility with their customers if they think this is good service for the public!

In the last month I had 3 bad experiences with UPS...I order perishable seafood from MD to be shipped to Florida, delivered 3 days late...box dripping wet left on my front porch, $235 worth crabs ruined...next ordered car parts that I needed, shipped by UPS, waiting, watching tracking, wasn't looking good, but tracking still said in time, didn't come the delivery date, i was told updated delivery date would be sent soon, item showed up 3 days late, box looked like it went through WW 3...this week same thing, still waiting for another item that was supposed be delivered 3 days ago...I buy online and do not choose UPS, it the s

Sellers choice, probably because UPS is cheap. I'm advising sellers to use Fed x and Ill pay the difference, UPS should not be allowed to handle anyones delivery without prior consent, they are that bad!

Terrible service Terrible customer service. Packages shipped from Amazon with 2 day delivery are now taking 5 days. When you check on a delivery UPS customer service says it out for delivery today and should be delivered by the "end of day".
I now have 2 different packages out for delivery for 3 consecutive days. The answer today was my packages are 396 out of 500 packages out for delivery on this truck and will probably not be delivered but will go back out on the next "business day". I live only 8 miles from the UPS facility. You think someone from UPS Management would use a dedicated vehicle for overdue 2 day package delivery. Guess they just don't care. Company motto should be "When it doesn't have to get there send it UPS but pay the big shipping fees. "

My former UPS driver was the best. We loved him. This is how we get things now... and that's on a good day. They have also been shoved into a bush and leaned up against a bush (in the snow... laptop computer). I complained. Response was that they would talk to the driver. Didn't resonate with him!

Oh, the footprints are mine... I think he simply leaned out of his truck.

I am sick, at home. I have been waiting for medical supplies that were sent via UPS with signature required. This is a 2 story house and I was upstairs. The doorbell is located upstairs and is very loud. I walk downstairs and look through the glass on the front door and see a note. "Sorry we missed you"! They NEVER rang the doorbell. Don't these idiots know what a doorbell is? Now the next delivery attempt will be 1/2/2019. I need my medicine. Now my options are to either drive out in the cold sick, Its 23 degrees in Boise today, or do without my meds for four more days, neither is a good option.
Try calling UPS and you will find they do NOT want to talk to you. If none of the three options they give you, which all are only going to take you to another automated menu and then another until you want to scream "Why can't I speak to a real person!" If you don't pit in a tracking number they apologize and tell you to find the information they want and try again then abruptly hang up on you!
What the hell ever happened to customer service, wanting to talk to you, and competition? How did we ever enable these people to treat us so badly? Why isn't there another competitor that can deliver packages and yet still understand customers are important and you need to speak to them if you want to stay in business?

this is probably one of the worst shipping companies I have ever has the pleasure to deal with. I am a small business in Western Pennsylvania. My store manager indicated he got a call from UPS about an overdue invoice. I set up auto-pay on the shipping account in early 2017 utilizing my Discover card. Never issues experienced. In October, had a shipment process and was invoiced for just over $ 20.00. They claim the card was declined. Dont know why 18, 000.00 limit and only 4, 000.00 on it, but who am I. Billed me $ 10.00 for a 'declined' credit card fee. December 1, tried the same card again... Probably have wrong expiration date on their end, charge me another $ 10.00. no invoices mailed or E-mailed. Call comes on December 7, 2018. I called them right back on December 7, 2018. All of the operators are foreign. He becomes argumentative and refused to listen to common sense concerning the account. I told him to have a supervisor call because one is 'not' available right now due to meetings. 7PM, I call them back. They are closed. It has been over 7 hours since I called. Must have been a really long meeting. December 8, 2018, they try the SAME credit card again... and charge me $ 10.60. You idiots. If it did not go through the first time, why would you try to use it again. Obviously, your system has the wrong expiration date or wrong information (They do change) Again, without any notice.
Called up again this morning. Was told that the supervisor was yet again busy in another meeting. Told them I would pay the original shipping amount but they could sue me for these 'returned credit card' fees. I want this shipping account closed. It is unfathomable to me that the corporation like this would violate consumers in this way. Plan on complaining to the credit card processors concerning violations of their rules for excessive fees. As a retailer, I know there is no fee assessed for 'Declined' credit cards.

UPS gives us the run around on who will be responsible for the damaged packaged we shipped. UPS are pointing fingers, the corporate and the franchised store. Our packaged was damaged upon delivery and we bought an "additional insurance, " per the clerk at the Bakersfield White Lane UPS Store. Now, when we called the corporate Damaged Dept, Paul said that UPS does not have an "insurance" only declared value? They are misrepresenting additional fees as insurance and corporate are blaming it on the franchised store and not the corporate. He said we should have contacted the shipper (not us), the UPS store item was shipped, which we did, and the store advised us to call. We are mistaken that we have shipped our package at UPS, we thought, our package will be handled properly, packaged has been securely packaged. We never received a call from the store nor the corporate to discuss about the claim. Paul said that we should have kept following up and leave the package to where it was delivered. They never scheduled inspection. They clearly just do not want to take the responsibility.

UPS is the worst company ... they fail on a daily base on delivering on time packages. When there tracking says they will deliver by end of day we can usually count on not receiving the package. If I could stop my vendor from using ups I would ...

I too have been screwed by this ups to USPS transfer ### and did not know until yesterday. I bought something from eBay, and my only shipping options were different pricing, not carriers. When i finally found out that it was being shipped ups, i started tracking with the UPS 1Z tracking number. Everything was fine, my package arrived here in my city, but then...WTF? Package transferred to USPS post office? WTF? No delivery date, just bend over and take it. Sorry MF's will never get my business again if there is ever a hint od this swap around bull ###. UPS and USPS BOTH get paid shipping charges that's why my shipping was $25. Sorry MF's!

UPS basic is just the shippers way of cheating the customer. It is the cheapest option for shipping. UPS has created this service level because of the economical advantage to the shipper and in turn the shipper does NOT usually pass on the savings to the receiver. Then customers call UPS upset like UPS did something wrong. To UPS the shipper (the company or person that is sending the product) is their customer because they are the one in a contract with UPS. They are the ones paying UPS. The reciever (the one recieving the package) is not the UPS customer.

with the volume of packages going thru the USPS multiple packages often times do get separated. Your letter carrier is the last person to touch the package. So why would you blame them. They may have never gotten the last one.

UPS delivery damaged goods

I just placed another order for a washing machine motor that was damaged in shipping. The first time I received this package, the seam was split open and the internal packaging consisted of an 14" piece of 6" wide bubble wrap around a 12 pound motor. The electrical connector was broken & not safe to use.

Today, the motor was delivered with a broken mounting leg and the plastic electrical connector broken off the housing. Internal packaging was upgraded to the SealPak foam in plastic bag, which should have been adequate for normal delivery. The service rep I talked to assured me that it was inspected and in good condition before it was shipped.

This is not an isolated incident. I rarely receive a shipment of CD's/DVD's without some damaged cases or discs. The UPS delivery here in the western suburbs of Chicago is absolutely terrible, lately.

Just last spring, I had to have a sump pump reordered 3 times from Home Depot Online before I got one that wasn't damaged during shipping. Complaining to UPS does not appear to have any effect. If anything, I seem to be getting some shoe prints on external packages now.

Enough is enough. I will not accept having my orders damaged by UPS shipping.
If there is no other option, I will order from another vendor. I refuse to have UPS deliver anything to my address. I would encourage others to do the same, until UPS can get its act together.

UPS never again

Being disabled, I've furnished my entire house with merchandise I've bought online. It's not an exaggeration to say that I've bought at least 5, 000 items (all my furniture and appliances, a 46' flat-screen TV, a 52" flat-screen TV, computers, etc) through the internet. So I've had a LOT of experience with shipping large items by freight and have never had a problem that couldnt be easily resolved...until I had to deal with the UPS Freight office in Houston TX.

On two separate occasions, online sellers shipped via UPS Freight. Both times I had the same problem: no one at the Houston office ever called me to schedule delivery. One time the girl said she had called me and that I agreed to a certain day/time. That never happened and the poor deliveryman showed up when I wasnt here. Both times I had to go through he! to call the UPS Freight office myself and schedule the delivery. I was told, by a former worker there, that the office personnel are overworked so they often lie and just say they contacted people to schedule deliveries. Is that any way to run an organization?

Now, whenever I order large merchandise, I ensure that it will not be shipped via UPS Freight. mm

UPS Freight is an absolute disgrace in the shipping world. They should close down all their terminals and get out of the freight business. We ordered two Air Conditioning machines from Snap-On Tools. UPS freight picked up the machines on the 8th of March and lost one of them. It's taken dozens of phone calls from Snap-On and myself to track this down. It's been almost a month now and still no second machine... wtf. When I called UPS I got the proverbial BS line, "I checked with the dock supervisor and they will call you back." Funny thing, UPS called us on last Thursday to see if we were open last Friday. Today on Monday UPS isn't sure when it's going to be shipped because of weather delays, Seriously...UPS is a F*ing joke. I will never recommend or use UPS freight EVER! Oh did I forget to mention, we can't charge A/C in our customer cars without the machine, yes UPS you clowns, you're costing us money right now!

UPS scheduled the delivery of the package on 3/21/2011 between 12 - 5 PM. However, the delivery was never made. When contacted UPS indicated that they truck sent needed a loading dock and the package could not be lowered off the truck. Therefore, the package would be placed on a smaller truck and delivered the next day. The package was then delivered the next day. However, the package was heavily damaged and the product inside was damage (photo's can be provided as necessary). In addition weeks later after the delivery I have begun to receive bills for an 87 dollar redelivery charge; for the redelivery due to their error. When customer service was contacted I was told that I must pay this fee as it was not paid by the shipper. However when reviewing the manifest it appears the shipper paid a residence delivery charge...? Further I am the recipient of the package; at no time have I agreed to pay any fees... any! Had fees been requested at the time of delivery I would have turned the delivery away. One hell of a business model UPS has going here. Deliver things to people then charge them for whatever they like. The original delivery date was on 3/21/11; The Driver was----; trailer 92-8392 Freight bill number: [protected] Shipper: ----Industrial Dr., West Chicago, IL 60185

I want the billing error corrected; a letter of apology; and a statement explaining the error which I can use to close the issue in the future should I begin receiving un-substantiated bills again. In addition I am seeking $200 for the shipping damaged to the $1800 pool heater. Again, I can provide documentation and photos as necessary.

Its obvious... if you are a bussiness or work for a bussiness look to ship somthing... DON'T PICK UPS!

UPS Delayed my dad's funeral

My father passed away and in his will, he specified that he wanted to be cremated and his ashes spread into the Pacific. The urn seller shipped it out UPS and it was supposed to be here in Atlanta Friday, January 8th. The funeral "service" was to be Tuesday, January 12. Well, the weather was unusually cold; actually, below freezing. UPS did not deliver on the 8th, and I'm ok with that. They did not deliver on the 9th, and I'm still ok with that. Here's the problem: When I asked where it was, NOBODY could tell me! I didn't have the tracking number, but I supposed having that info cross-indexed with a client's name would be just too much. When I did get the tracking number to locate the item, it was in the warehouse, which I am STILL fine with. But HERE is where I was livid. I understood that UPS might not want to take the chance on icy roads, so I asked to come pick it up. I was told that they had to attempt deliver FIRST BEFORE I could go get it. The urn got to me at 5:30 Monday evening. Suffice it to say, we did NOT have the service on Tuesday. Not delivering the urn was ok, but refusing to allow me to go get it means it will be an even colder day in Hell before I allow UPS to have ANY part in an important matter.

I was expecting my packages sooner but each individual time one of the following has occurred.

1. The package was taken to the wrong address.
2. Failure to deliver packages when I was unavailable to sign; not delivered to the leasing office across the street as requested.
3. Packages were delivered to the leasing office FIRST rather than my actual apartment in an attempt to follow previous instructions. My address was completely bypassed save for a sticky stating that they missed me (though they didn't knock, I had to physically run to catch up to them)
4. Does not knock hard enough and leaves after one knock (gives up easily).

I'm a small business owner whose company is located in a small industrial park.
I can't wait to retire and UPS is putting the proverbial nail in my coffin.
1) Our UPS center is closed from 1-3 pm.
2) When a delivery is made and I'm not at my business, I request it to be left at my neighbors 30ft away. I complained about the driver not leaving a note stating that the package is next door. I pride myself in quick turn around time to my customers and they should let me know a package is available so can work.
Now the driver is cold to me.
3) I try to get a package out and deliver it before 1PM to get it out yet. That doesn't always work, so I go to my neighbor who is sending out many packages daily, because I'm semi-retired and I'm not going to wait until 3PM to bring the package to UPS. Now my neighbor said that the UPS driver complained that I don't for pickup and that extra packages shouldn't accepted by me and his other neighbor.
I'm losing my appetite for UPS now for they used to be conscienteous neither.
This not done, but perhaps 5 times a month "tops"
Another thing is my shop covers a large area and if I'm not there in a few seconds- very heavy door pounding begins.
Sometimes it can take up to 30 seconds to reach that door. That whole attitude is disrespectful and disgusts me. The sad thing is the driver takes home much more than I do.

I have seen many complaints about UPS drivers but no complaints about the internal affairs of working at Worldport. I've been a loader for UPS for over a year and my reviews of the job are mixed. I have met many great and hardworking people and many times the volume for the night is insanely high. As part time employees, we work much harder than full time employees and are paid less due to fewer hours. A big problem at UPS is laziness. Ramp employees are paid to hog the break room for half the night and sleep or play on their phones. I'm not allowed to have my phone while I work, why should they? And shifters are another group of lazy employees. Shifters are supposed to bring me empty containers and move full containers to the docks. Usually I am the one finding my own containers and at the end of the night I am pulling multiple containers while they wait for me by the dock.
The biggest problem at UPS is upper management. Many people that have these positions are not hired from within the company and know nothing about what my job is really like. How are they able to tell me how to do my job when they have never picked up a package in the first place. The only competent employees are the part time supervisors who have worked their way to that position and understand what needs to be done and handles it the proper way.
There are many changes that need to take place at UPS if the company wishes to gain the trust of their employees back and it has to happen NOW.

I had ordered a couple bottles of wine from a private vineyard to have for New Years dinner. I received a call from UPS @ 8:30am that the wine was to be delivered 12/30/08 between 8:ooam and 7:00pm and would require an adult signature. I stayed home all day waiting while my husband and one son were out working in the yard. The wine never came! Checked my tracking # the next day and it stated "12/30/08 @ 1:40pm receiver was unavailable to sign on the 1st delivery attempt". Next attempt will be on 1/2/09(a little too late). We never heard a truck(we live on a secluded driveway) and never had a notice on the door of an attempt and UPS has been here many many times before. Went on line to complain and you can't unless you have a lost, damaged or c.o.d. problem. Not that it will matter, but can't wait to see UPS person for tomorrows delivery attempt, if it actually happens.

UPS shows it delivered a package to my door on 4/23 at 7:11 p.m. I never got the package. I arrived home that night no later than 7:20 and there was no package. That means either: 1. Someone managed to steal the package within minutes of delivery, which means they were probably following the truck. 2. The driver is lying and kept the package himself., It was jewelry which was probably obvious from the size and return address. Now the jewelry is no longer available so even though I'll probably get a refund, I won't get the ring and bracelet I wanted. My biggest complaint about UPS is that they leave the packages in full view of anyone driving by. I have a porch with shrubs in front so why don't the drivers have the sense to hide the package behind the shrubs so it's out of view from the street? This should be part of their training. Surprisingly, I've never had a package stolen before and I order often. I think UPS should have to reimburse the company I ordered from because this is clearly their fault.

I went to pick up a package at the UPS facility after multiple failed delivery attempts because they cannot get the concept of just leaving the package at my door per my request. When I went to pick up the package at the facility the woman working there "Myra" was the worst person I've ever dealt with in customer service. She was rude and unpleasant and when I simply wanted to know the whereabouts of my package, she told me "it's not my problem, it's your fault you weren't home." Then after blaming me for their failed delivery, she tells me the package has been sent back to the shipper and then refused to communicate anymore with me when I was asking her additional questions, even when there was no one else in line. It really turned me off to the whole process and especially this facility. Beware of this location and especially "Myra", she will be the African American woman with an attitude standing around not willing to help.

Guaranteed delivery of 10:30AM CST. Driver failed to deliver, with the reason being missing suite number. The suite number is on the shipping label. The response was the driver has returned to the station and will deliver on the next day, and the compensation offered was the refund of the shipping costs.

The delayed delivery cost far exceeds the cost of delivery.

I had a delivery that was lost (a laptop computer that I ordered from MacMall, who is also to blame in this mess) on August 14th, now 11 days ago. I've tried everything in the world to try to track my package, or get proper compensation, and it has literally been a comedy of errors and incompetence. But it's not funny anymore. The story is too long to write, as I've been documenting this mess, and the list of screw-ups and idiots is over 30 items long. I've had no fewer than 30 phone calls, repeating myself, still, to NO avail. Get it write UPS. This is not fair. I ordered a computer. I want the computer. Fix this! Brown - you know what you're doing for me? You're giving me a damn ulcer. Figure it out!

IOur UPS driver will ONLY leave notices on the fence. We have to guess what time of day he will be delivering packages and be at the gate. He claims that because he was bitten by someone else's dog a long time ago, he is afraid to knock on our door.

He says is afraid we will "turn the dog loose" on him. We have NEVER let our dogs out of the house when any deliver person has come to the door. We have talked to TWO successive Supervisors and they say there is Nothing they can do about this situation.

He has gone so far as to SEE me in the yard with the dogs and when I was walking towards the gate, he got in the truck and drove away! He wouldn't even wait for me to get to the gate and sign for the package!

He continues to do this, even with Critical Medical Supplies, such as INSULIN!

The UPS guy left a sticker on my door without knocking the door AND without caring to drop the package off at the leasing office of the apartment building where they are usually dropped off. This on a Friday so I called and found out that I cannot get my package till Monday because UPS only delivers special items on Saturdays and making up for their screw ups is not important enough for Saturday delivery even though one trip would deliver for multiple customers at the complex.

UPS ups working conditions

I worked at UPS from about 2000 until 2007. Originally, I started working in a better, smaller hub that didn't have a lot of toxic dusts and diesel exhaust. The working conditions were tolerable and the work was reasonable for the pay. However, in 2004 the place was closed down and we were transferred to a bigger hub, more common to what most UPS employees would be accustomed to. There the working conditions were much worse. The work was pretty ardous and the conditions were abysmal. If it was an ordinary office with ordinary workers that voiced their complaints more easily and freely, there would have been some drastic changes. But maybe because of the people that are hired there or the culture of UPS, the employees don't seem to voice their complaints or note the poor working conditions. It's hard to write this without sounding like a whiner or complainer, but I strongly regret working there. And I would encourage just about anyone else to avoid working there and consider working somewhere else.
Once, I was transferred there in 2004, I was an unloader in the back of dusty trucks, inside a dimmly lit hub. The hub is poorly kep with dust swirling all over and there are UPS package cars driving in from a day's work and the package cars are emitting diesel exhaust. And the trucks are started up during the shift to be moved to other spots throughout the hub. As I worked there for the first eight months, I didn't notice any symptoms, but after having worked there for about eight months, I began to feel chest tightness and made this throat clearing noise. I would have difficulty staying asleep at night. I saw some doctors early on and they didn't suspect it was cause of my working conditions. But I had a suspicion early on that it was. Some doctors thought it was GERD, but eventually that was ruled out. I eventually saw an allerigst and he was pretty certain it was a result of working at UPS. This is about a year or two after I first began feeling the symptoms. I was in a bit of a bind, I now needed the health insurance for the symptoms, but I was only being insured by the company that was causing these problems. Needless to say, this was pretty frustrating. In 2007 I eventually quit and sued UPS, but won a very small settlement. I have already spent that money on the medications and treatment. I continue to have the asthma and allergies from having worked at UPS and I'm just hopeful that my condition in improves. There is so much I would like to do, but I feel limited by the chest tightness and the medications I'm having to take.

I would encourage anyone to strongly consider your health before working at UPS or working anywhere else for that matter. Make sure the working conditions are safe and won't cause a reaction. Knowing what you're exposed to is helpful. You can ask for the MSDS to find out what you are being exposed to.

If anyone else has worked at UPS or is continuing to work at UPS and is experiencing breathing problems or a condition that is similar to mine, perhaps we can contact each other or if there are a few of us or if you know of more that this kind of reaction to having worked at UPS, perhaps we can file a class action lawsuit against UPS. It doesn't feel fair that these kinds of conditions can lead to a chronic health problem.

Please, if you have experienced something similar from working at UPS, please contact me at [protected]@yahoo.com

Thanks, and hopefully we can build a case.

UPS awful company

I have not received a box that hasn't had smashed and torn corners or holes from UPS. They will not allow you to pick up a package unless you call the day before to stop the delivery. Virtually no weekend service. Missed delivery on a Friday that required a signature. I was left an "InfoNotice" which only information was that they would attempt a 2nd deliver on Monday. There was no reference of where I could pick it up. I called the 1800 # after I got home on Friday to find out where the package was so I could pick it up. I was told I could do one of two things: 1) Cancel the Monday delivery and pick it up Tuesday. Or 2) Hopefully receive the delivery Monday, but if I did not I must call before midnight to cancel Tuesdays delivery and pick it up Tuesday. Either way I do not receive my package in time. I could not go pick up my package Saturday or Sunday because of the "processing" required.

Thank god, my prescription drugs are sent via fedex and not UPS.

UPS won't ring my bell

The UPS center at Maspeth is notoriously bad at getting your package to your house in a timely matter. However, apparently there was a change of drivers for my area, and the week before Christmas showed an amazing improvement in UPS' deliveries. The driver actually left giant boxes behind the house, on a set of stairs to the basement.

This week, however, I ordered something with guaranteed two-day shipping. I was not at home at the time of attempted delivery, but I know there was someone there in my place. I came home to find an InfoNotice and proceeded to be frustrated. The driver actually came up to the house, only to not ring our door bell and leave a notice. Now, I have to wait until Monday the fourth because they won't deliver tomorrow, or Friday, or on weekends. I never use UPS willingly, and this just enforces that opinion.

Today, there WASN'T even a slip showing an attempt when I got home today. Then, I checked tracking, only because I remembered that it was scheduled for this week, and the UPS "InfoNotice™" had blown into the bushes! If I hadn't checked, I wouldn't have even known!
It is covered with the usual scribbles so one doesn't have a clue. (These forms are worse than ever.)
And of course this means I wont see it until Monday, as they are off Thursday and Friday and don't deliver on weekends. Or even later, as the driver won't take the signed slip, even if I nail it to the door with a body part...

I now ALWAYS specify any shipper EXCEPT ups whenever I order anything that needs to be shipped. USPS works best, for me, for these small packages. But not all vendors have the option, or only some 'next-day' lunacy.

I had a great UPS driver in my area in Detroit, Michigan. We got a new drive in November. He left packages by my side door on the driveway, obviously visible by anyone walking or driving down the street. My other delivery person rang the doorbell and if there was no answer, he proceeded to the backdoor.
The new driver left a notice without even ringing the doorbell if a signature is required.
I want my old driver back.

UPS bad bad service

So you UPS said they would deliver by the 25th (Christmas). It shipped out on the 19th. I figured, they said the 25th, I'd give them to the 26th. Now, they are delivering on the 31st. It was a gift for my wife. She and I understood that it would be 'delayed' as standard shipping takes 4-6 days for this item which weighs under 12lbs. However, we were hoping to get it by the weekend since we would be visiting family. Now, some may say... it is delayed due to the holiday season.

Well, I worked for UPS unloading trucks on the rollers. 2000 packages per hour per 2 persons. And although more trucks come in during the holiday season, there are more docks, and more employees to handle them. So the delay is not because of the volume. In fact, UPS prides itself on efficiency. UPS delivers over 1 million packages a day. Very much like the Post Office, which handles 800, 000 packages a day. So it isn't the volume increase, because the system can handle it. So what is it?

It's the personnel. UPS employees don't care about your package. They don't care about damaging... about losing them... in fact many OPEN them... to peek if it's something they like. High end purses, cell phones, car parts, were some of the things I know were taken from customers. And they wanted to open the boxes going to rich zip codes such as beverly hills, manhattan beach, malibu, palos verdes, santa barbara, montecito, etc.

UPS publishes their findings on efficiency, volume, satisfaction. However, they don't publish any findings on complaints, unsatisfied customers, and damaged goods.

So when I sent out (2) large picture frames from a small business I own, I had the UPS clerk package them (otherwise they're not insured - even if you pay for insurance - very fine print). I knew the risks. And sure enough, they lost (1), damaged another. It was sent back to the hub were it layed for 8WEEKS. All along, I had UPS customer service saying that the item was thrown in the trash because it was unsalvageable. And who decides what is unsalvageable? The guy that damages it. The same guys that kicks to make sure it's broken more. The same guy that looked in the box, liked it, and the placed it as a damaged item. Usually, even damaged items make it back. However, sometimes, when they see that it isn't pricey or if there was no insurance (or the possiblity of paying on a claim), the simply discard it.

The following is the communication between myself and UPS: " Subject
General / General

Customer 10/14/2009 11:05 AM
Dear Jessica, The main reason why I'm petitioning to you is because the personnel at the store "don't know anything about it", is what I've been told. I have gotten no call backs and no information other than what I find on UPS.com. The personnel is completely unconcerned and unprofessional. All I want, is my item back, regardless of the condition. There is no reason to keep it and/or dispose of it. I paid a fee to handle this item, which was clearly marked "fragile" several times. Now the item is broken and I'm getting no answers, from them or you. Jessica, this is a start up business and these were my first orders. Two (2) of them resulted broken. Clearly the lack of knowledge at the UPS Store and the failure to expressively inform the customer contributed to this issue. I am not happy with the service at UPS so far. I must ask that you close my account and delete my information from your system. I expect my item to be returned as UPS has no right to keep, dispose of, or otherwise keep MY property. You were paid to handle, not decide it's outcome. I can care less about the claim, I would like my item back."

Response (Jessica W.) 10/15/2009 01:16 AM
Dear ******,
"Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, I am unable to help you with this matter. Please contact the shipper for further assistance. If the shipper has any questions about the claim, please ask them to contact us directly.

I understand your point of view, and I sincerely apologize for any frustration and inconvenience associated with this situation.

Please contact us if you need any additional assistance.

UPS Customer Service"

Well, 2 months later, I received a card saying I could pick up my item at the Cerritos customer center.
I didn't. I refunded my customer her money. I switched to FedEx. I just received an invoice for $53.45 from UPS for my account dues. Didn't I cancel that account with customer service. Oh yea, they don't care.

Bottom line... DON'T USE UPS. As a former customer, a former employee, and current FedEx user, DON'T USE UPS.

UPS promised, and I paid for it to be delivered the next day. I tracked the shipment till it was ready for the last leg at 10:00 PM on Friday, but it was delayed till after the weekend. Their last e-mail to me stated: (Any package that arrives after 10:00 a.m. at the destination facility is unable to go out that same day, )!
I still keep copies of their e-mail!

UPS late deliveries, no information

I am increasingly frustrated by UPS delivery, my last 6 deliveries were consistently 2-3 days late. The driver didn't make any attempt and put a fake entry in the tracking system" Recipient no available". But in reality he never made an attempt as i was home that day/time ( since i work from home) and there was no info notice on the door.

My last delivery was a " 2 day service " and reached me after one week. Even then finally i have to pick it myself from the local UPS facility.

I have lodged several complains about it with customer service, but no body ever returned the call.

Even now when i am writing this complaint, i am waiting for a delivery to happen, but i know it won't happen. Interestingly the system shows delivery happened at some place in IL and i live in CT date of delivery is 12/03.

UPS has delivered the shipment.

Residential deliveries that do not require a signature may be left in a safe place, out of sight and out of weather, at the driver's discretion. This could include the front porch, side door, back porch, or garage area. If you have instructed the driver to leave the shipment with a neighbor or leasing office, this would be noted on a yellow UPS InfoNotice left by the driver.

UPS ups does not prctice what they preach

I am a Christmas help employee for UPS in Montana. We make $8.50 an hour to ride along with a driver and deliver packagess. My driver chewed tobacco and spit it out in the street and on peoples property. He drove the truck while texting, he almost hit a small chevy. i had to yell watch it.

We are constantly getting in and out of truck and are told to run, drop pacakege, no pl;astic protection, sometimes no signatures and are told to just drop at front door. Even if the package is visible. They do not respect the helpers . i was told by the driver that the good thing about ups is that they don't drug test. What? Thats scary...
