Dissatisfied with the product

Not sure of the business location except that it is in the US somewhere (I think Miami but not sure). I ordered the complete set of Little House on the Prairie DVD’s (all region) in November 2006 and was dissatisfied with the product. The DVD’s kept “pausing” in throughout the episodes. I sent an email to the company on 08/12/06 and was promised a replacement set of DVD’s. Since then I have made numerous queries with them only to be told they are currently out of stock. (As I suspect the DVD’s they sent me are pirate copies of the originals, I find this very hard to believe). The DVD’s are obviously not original products as the packaging and labeling on the DVD’s is very simple and not at all professional. They continue to promise me a replacement set of DVD’s but it is now 6 months since I received the original set and am no closer to a resolution. I have tried to use their online chat system and they have now elected to terminate the chat before I can discuss this issue any further.

Did a McAfee SiteAdvisor prior to placing order, and found the source to be Russia. When there was no security lock or https I decided to run like the wind. Beware of such signs, as there are numerous credit scams, identify thefts, etc. originating from former eastern bloc countries...

I too have been had by TVaddicts I bought the mini series Centennial for my dad the cost was £131.24 English pounds that was in December 2006 still waiting for a refund. Have contacted Trading standards nothing they can do as it isn't an English based company. My credit card details went through a company in Tel aviv Israel which sounds dodge. Think I can say goodbye to the money.

I'm embarrassed to say I, too, have been scammed by these folks. I'm normally one of the most security-conscious people around, particularly when it comes to on-line activity, but I got sucked in by these folks. I ordered 2 different boxed sets as Christmas presents but -- you guessed it -- nothing was ever shipped. My payments were processed but nothing was shipped. My phone calls went only to voice-mail and were never returned. My e-mails likewise never received a reply, not even my latest one where I have them 48 hours to respond or I was pulling out all the legal stops I can muster (I can muster quite a few, frankly).

The one bright note in all this is that I just spoke with my bank. I had billed these 2 orders to my debit card, which does have fraud protection. I will be getting reimbursed for the 160 dollars, and my bank will be getting it by -- and I love this -- taking it back out of that company's account.

The bank doesn't get involved in any potential criminal reports, but we as consumers can and I recommend that everyone here with similar experiences do the same. I've already started that process. This constitutes wire fraud, making it a Federal offense.

I received a "bootleg" copy of a boxed set of the old tv series, The Fugitive. To make a long story short, every disc I've tried to play so far has been flawed, to the extent that at least one full episode on each disc will not play! Poor quality in buring the taped tv show to DVD and no response to two telephone calls and one e-mail to the company. It was purchased from DVDAvenue.tv and or tvaddicts.tv. Both companies, and others I understand, are one and the same.

They are in Canada and are under investigation by the RCMP. They go by several different business names. I went through the same thing as all of you. No answer on the phone. No answer to my emails but I did have many online chat conversations where they kept telling me they will credit my account and they never do. When I try to get manager information they end the session. No recourse from Bank since too much time has passed.

Thanks to all of you for your postings and your info about this company. You have saved me from ordering from this scum, eh scam company. I was considering order a DVD set, but googled the company name and found your list of complaints. Thanks again!

I wrote the Comment about the boxed set of the Fugitive. I've now called TVAddicts and/or DVDavenue 4 times and e-mailed them 3 times with no human response whatsoever! Does anyone know where I can make an "official" complaint that will actually do some good? I'd appreciate any info anyone has to share. Thanks a lot!

After 3 e-mails and 4 phone calls, someone finally replied and asked for my order number - twice! I replied twice, giving them the order # and an explanation( that the order had been place by my daughter and given to me as a Christmas gift) and that's the last I've heard of that! That was maybe a week ago. I've about given up :(

This site has really helped me in choosing what internet online shopping sites I can trust. For some reason I've been receiving tons of emails from TVAddicts.tv even though I've never been on that site.
After visiting them i looked them up on google and I've found out that they are just another fraudulent company. I think I've heard it mentioned that they're are linked to DVDDonkey which is another fraudulent online shopping site. Do Not buy from there under any circumstances.

I got sucked in by these people too. I ordered a complete of "HONDO tv series" (17 episodes) and it passed more than 2 months without any answer to my emails.
Actually, i live in Europe, and I asked a friend of mine who lives in US to order for me.
She told me that these guys never answer on the phone, and they always went only to voice-mail.
The Movie set costs $129.99, and thats 2 weeks salary here in my living place (Macedonia, Europe).
I am double disappointed, first that my poor friend (she went to study there) who paid for me. Ok i will return money to her, and second, i was desperately searching for that movie for more than 20 years. And when i finally found it, i got ripped by these people.
So, we can't do anything you say?
Regards to all of you, and be careful in ordering things online again :(

P.S.
if anyone have any solution, please write to me here:

This website is and still is a big rip off!!!!!!!! I ordered the New York Undercover DVD set about two months ago. Well, they took my money of course, but I have not recieved my order. I have also been calling and emailing with no reseponse. I have my bank looking into this and hopefully I can get my money back. This was a Christmas gift for my husband. The phone number they have listed doesn't even have an answer and the emailing complaints have gone without answer. HOWEVER, my husband emailed them to ask if they had the New York Undercover box set in stock (THEY EMILED ME AFTER GETTING MY MONEY TO TELL ME MY ORDER WAS ON BACKORDER) and they quickly replied to him saying they were in stock and ready for him to place an order. SCAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMERSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!! I will let you know what happens with my bank's investigation. RUN, RUN AND RUN FROM TVADDICTS.TV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't their site be shut down? Isn't there any recourse?

Has anyone written to the Better Business Bureau or don't they handle this kind of scam?

Fascinating. Try connecting to either to either tvdvdworld.tv or tvaddicts.tv or www.allmyfavoriteshows.com -- the sites no longer exists.

Ihave beeen trying since January, 2007 to get a usable copy of "Centennial". I have received one excuse after another. I was told in a e-mail that they would send me a watchable set. The complete set I received has large blank spaces in the CDs. Nothing has arrived. They do not answer my e-mails or phone calls. This is a very deceptive outfit. Please help. This set cost me $2225.98.

So, are there any websites similar to this (that sell TV shows that AREN'T on dvd, and give you nice art work, dvd menu's, etc)...is there any site out there that's actually legit?
340 days ago by Kent  [send email] 0 Votes
These clowns are nothing but scammers...don't believe anything you read from their sites 'cause it's all phony. The copies of DVSD's my daughter received of "Scarcrow & Mrs. King" were of such poor quality they were unwatchable. A 5 year-old holding a video camera pointed at a TV set across the room could produce a better product than these bozos did. They constantly change the name of the "contact" you're dealing with, tell you that your refund is in the mail or that better copies are on their way to you...nothing but a bunch of bull. Through our bank, we were able to stop some of the payments that were about to be released and were able to recover a bit more, but it isn't worth the hassle...save yourself the time and grief...you won't get what you think you are.
