TruGreen sprayed a Pesticide on my neighbor's property less than 5 feet from my German Shepherd, who was on my property behind a chain linked fence. My dog inhaled the Pesticide that was being sprayed and came in sneezing. Within 1 hour her nose began to bleed and continued for 2 months!
I reported this and the death of my cat 3 weeks prior from eating grass in the neighbor's yard after it was sprayed. The "manager" that I spoke to chuckled about the death of my cat. So I called their corporate office and then sent everything in writing to them. I gave them a deadline and when I heard nothing back I filed a complaint with Department of Agriculture. They showed up at the local TruGreen office 4 days later.
Now we wait for the report.
My next step is taking my story to the local media.
After reading the 18 pages about the chemicals they use (they sent this to my vet) I realized 2 things.
1. Their chemicals cause Cancer in several breeds of dogs.
2. They do animal testing.
These 2 things should be enough to create a Class Action suit and bury these idiots!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I have had Trugreen spray my yard for about 20 years the service was horrible I canceled a couple of times and they kept promising better service.
Well last March I had my bushes sprayed for the first time with Talstar and they resprayed in June 2014. My two dogs were diagnosed with Lymphoma. I took them to the Vet and was told the first one was diagnosed and weeks later the other one was also diagnosed. I took them to Vet oncologist and was told that for lymphoma to happen in 2 dogs who were not the same breed and not related it was probably herbicides or pesticides.
I immediately stopped my service and reported my concerns nobody responded until I filled I complaint with Better Business Bureau and the State of Florida Agriculture department. Trugreen told that it could not be from their spray but if you read about Talstar you will find out.. I asked them to do 2 things relay this info to their customers and give a donation to Magic Bullet, an organization that helped with the chemo for the second dog. The first dog Patches dies Aug 1st after 7 months of treatment he went into remission immediately but came out of remission in July and was put down Aug 1st. He was the dog that was there for me when I had cancer the 3rd time. While going through chemo he followed me to every room even the bathroom a laid as close as he could. He was 7 years old when he died. He was a mixed dog that we rescued. The second dog Tater is in remission but has not finished chemo as of yet. We are hoping for a good out come. He is a mix also mostly pitbull. Just for your info the first dog cost $7, 000 dollars and the second dog we got assistance from Magic Bullet so it was not as expensive. Thank God for them. My vet told me that he had never seen 2 dogs who were not related get Lymphoma at the same time. He said it had to be the pesticides.
Please be careful what pesticide you use. I do not want you to be heartbroken like me!

The dog was on HIS property, not the neighbors
where the spray was. How are they supposed
to know when
their neighbors lawn is being
sprayed? There's no law that says neighbors have to be notified when poison is
being sprayed in the area. To say it is their
fault is ridiculous.

I hope they won this battle. These pesticides
are not only
killing, pets & honeybees but all types of
wildlife
& we humans, folks. Is a perfect lawn worth all this? Not
to us. We never use pesticides,
save tons of
money and our lawn looks just fine with a
few dandelions
here & there.
Agreed with Danielle. I personally had two applications of Talstar to my yard. Once as part of my fertilizer/herbicide application, and about a month later as a straight application for insects. Both times my dogs were inside, and not taken outside until the treatments were dried. With that said, if YOUR lawn were getting the treatment, you would have been advised on that. Second, your animals should not be grazing on your neighbors lawn, especially after it had been sprayed. If you had an exterminator treat your house, would you let your dog lick the treated area? When you were doing your research, did TruGreen provide you with the rate at which they sprayed at? The amount of insecticide is extremely low (literally just enough to kill the target insect). Also, the spray a liquid, not a vapor, therefore there won't be chemicals floating around in the air. This complaint is ridiculous, and you should not have pets if this is the level of care you provide.
how about you just keep your animals out of your neighbors lawn? you're not even a customer of trugreen and they inform their CUSTOMERS to keep animals off the grass until the treatment dries for that exact purpose. so sorry but all of that is your fault and if I were trugreen I wouldn't pay one cent of your vet bills.
