Picking up with the above thread. There is a group of victims that has organized a campaign against this company. Their info, which appears to be very thorough, is found at http://therelationshipcompany.co/

There is also a blog spot at: https://bewaretherelationshipco.wordpress.com/

Suggest anyone who was/is a victim of this scam or someone thinking about doing business with this company read what that this group has put together. It is very thorough! It points to bogus vanity awards that the owner touts, prior court cases, FTC information, complaint data from the state of CT and even a recent prosecution by an Attorney General of THE RELATIONSHIP COMPANY in another state. Bottom line BEWARE. You want to steer clear of this company and its' owner.

This comment tags on to the Jan 2011 posting by Soccermom, unhappy1994 and the 2 Dec 14 posting by Oz. I was considering contacting The Relationship Company as I found their website to be very well done and their services appear first class. Your comments are certainly a wake-up call. I would like to hear more from people who have actually worked with them before contacting them. Can you please respond.
Thank You

Let me tell you, I just got home from a high pressure interview in their CT office today. I met with the founder Alyssa.

I consider myself an above average looking educated man in his 30's, financially stable, just suffering from shyness which has deterred me from meeting women so I decided to give this a try after trying online dating sites. Yep, 90 minutes after all sorts of smiles, compliments and their questionnaire which was ridiculous, she slapped me with their prices. That's when my mouth dropped and honestly I looked around the office for hidden camera's thinking I was being punked. The packages are thousands of dollars, and the one I thought was actually worth it was $8995.99. I was so shocked that I flat out told her I cannot justify paying thousands of dollars to get a date just because I have a hard time talking to women. That's when I can tell she became very irritant, making comments like "You have no debt, you make a good amount each year, there is no reason you cannot pay for our services..." at that point I became irate, as I found that comment to be out of line. I stated I wanted to think about it (just so I can get out of there), but she insisted that she wanted everything up front and she wasn't ok with that. Finally I convinced her to make another appointment to sign the contract...you can bet I am NOT returning there. STAY AWAY from this place. I should of known better when the staff I talked to to set up the appointment refused to disclose any rates. They clearly prey on loneliness.

Yes! I completely agree that they are a MAJOR RIP-OFF with disgustingly hardsell tactics. I fell victim to them after a painful break-up, at a time when I was feeling lonely and hopeless on the romantic front. So I paid way too much, was set up on a few dates with men who were completely inappropriate for me, and after vigorously complaining to them about the whole thing just stopped hearing from them completely. I never did anything about it, just wrote it off as a loss, but I would really like to go after them and get at least some of my money back!

Buyer Beware! Do not even schedule an appointment with these people. It's a scam with high pressure sales tactics once you get into their office. The "relationship counselor" will drown you with compliments during the interview and assure you that they have plenty of members to match you with. After about 90 minutes of fake smiling and compliments, she will bring out the membership fees. Least expensive fee for 10 "referrals" is $2600, most expensive was $5500. Once I got over the sticker shock, I voiced my concern that I just couldn't justify spending that much money on a dating service and that it may not be the program for me. Almost immediately, the "counselor's" sweet, kind, demeanor changed (and the compliments stopped). Then she tried the whole "you've wasted my time" trick to maybe try and make me feel guilty..didn't work. I informed her that it was their choice not to disclose membership fees up front, to which she replied "if we had done that, then you wouldn't have come in". Exactly! Because now they have wasted MY time! Then she had the audacity to say to me "then maybe you're just not financially stable", insinuating that I was a gold digger. I mean to tell you, she was mad! These people prey on lonely people and have successfully gotten a lot of money out of them..I'm just glad that I got out of there before I fell for it! They have a FB page and the only people who "like" it are their employees. Save yourself the trouble and aggravation and don't give them one second of your valuable time or one penny of your hard-earned money.
