Dr. Cordero at Prisma Dental in San Jose did terrible work. I contacted the office in San Jose about the broken tooth, and one falling off. I am now at the University of Maryland Dental School trying to undo all of the mess that he made. He gave me one price and then said he had to charge me over $ 1, 000. more because he had to buy parts. Parts were included in the quote. Finally, he told me that he would not finish the work while I sat in the chair unless I signed a credit card payment of $ 567.00. The credit card company said that I should not have signed. I guess they felt that I could go home with the work undone. I have sent the quotes for the work at the school to him--no response. I would like a refund. He was so unprofessional--rude, and the technician (I think, at his request) started x-raying me in rapid succession after he finished.

My experiences have been quite the opposite -for my numerous visits to this Clinic, and I will recount these:
A Great Visit-Again!
Professionalism- “with a large portion of TLC -added! This was my second visit this year, and I really want to share my very positive experiences with others who are perhaps looking for a dental service that has been dedicated to high level of professionalism and an equally high quality of care.
What I experienced, each and every time, (talk about consistency) Whether, I am sitting in the waiting room, a front desk personnel is always ready to meet my needs, or if I am sitting in “the chair, ” the doctor makes me feel- that my questions are important. I have found that the team-spirit of these specialists, have been consistently attentive and it seemed that they have as their highest priority- to spend their time in caring for “us” patients- which in my experience in many other offices-is not present.
From the moment you sit down in the Waiting room to the time you leave, you can feel the high energy of this office. And of course I will be back once a year and – I know that I can count on being treated with the highest of professional care, as before, by the Doctors and their equally professional team.
Thank you for reading through my experiences on the Posted page, as very often the views differ-and it would be a shame to not see the otherside-
I am a regular patient of Prisma Dental, been going there for years. Once you consider having found the best dental clinic with the best doctors and the best care, you never change. Health is not sonething you gamble with.
Reading reviews is always a great way to filter options, but just reading isn’t enough, one must read, analyze and then judge. If you see several excellent reviews and then one that seems to have been written with what appears to be hate and harmful intentions, be a critical thinker, don’t jump to conclusions right away. If you analyze all the comments you will end up with a simple mathematical truth (maths are always right) the % of positive reviews is so overwhelming it makes the very few negative ones loose all possible credibility.
I chose Prisma using this type of approach and thought, and it paid off many times over. I’ve never been so glad not to judge on a negative comment but to pay real attention to the positive ones, which at the end, have been proven to tell the truth.
For the most part, unless you're brown skinned.
The above reviews are puzzling and do not reflect in any way our experience at Prisma. My wife and I have been patients of Drs. Cordero and Rubinstein for about 5 years. They are outstanding doctors and our experience at their dental clinic has been wonderful and completely positive. Two years ago, my wife had a full mouth restoration for about 1/3 of the price of what it would have cost me at home. She now has a fantastic healthy smile that I love. My dentist at home checked the work and verified that Prisma had done an excellent job. Throughout our dental work at Prisma, the doctors and staff were extremely kind, caring, and accommodating. The clinic is ultra modern, clean, and professional, and the care matches the best one would find in the U.S.A. I recommend Prisma dental wholeheartedly and enthusiastically.

Totally agree about price gouging and unprofessionalism by Dr. Cordero. I waited four hours for a surgery appointment. Never an apology - a half hearted I'm sorry we had an emergency doesn't cut it. He yelled at me for being tense. It's cost me $5000 more to have two other dentists clean up his mess. One is in CR - NOVA Dental - great dentist - nice man - kept me waiting 10 minutes at the most - explains things and doesn't try to gouge more money. have heard more things about prisma - they are the MOST expensive and if a patient starts their care there, they often leave to go somewhere else. horrible horrible experience. and when I asked for a refund to cover the additional $5000 Telma, his wife, started giving me a million excuses about why the problems happened. BS. too bad they don't have malpractice in CR because I'd be first in line!

I've been visiting Prisma twice a month for a year. Dr Cordero is an amazing professional. I always sit down and read their testimonials book while I wait and it is amazing to see how many patients leave the clinic grateful for their care and professionalism. I find it hard to believe that he just opened a new extortion business at the clinic jajajaja
