Got one as well today, says orig creditor is GTE Southwest with similar phone # that I never had but maybe used with a friend as his 2nd phone line at another apt complex. Acct # and my last 4 soc doesn't even work on their website. GTE Southwest is long gone (and always paid.) These slimes are just trying to drum up any old connection to get $ or some other old debt that's long written off.
Afini said i owed alltell an outrageous amount which i did not. They harrassed me until i finally settled for a smaller amount(stupid on my part) NOW IT SHOWS UP AS A COLLECTION ACCOUNT ON MY CREDIT REPORT. SOMEONE NEEDS TO STOP THESE AS THEY HAVE CAUSED MY CREDIT SCORE TO GO DOWN THUS HURTING MY INTEREST RATES AND ABILITY TO GET CREDIT.
