Peach State Lynx Cattery review: Sick kitten 9

They are not licensed by the state of Georgia to sell Highland Lynx cats. My kitten has an Upper Respiratory infection that 3 antibiotics have not been able to cure. I noticed the Cattery is in a basement under the house so I am concerned my kitten may have a fungal infection. The breeder is not a licensed vet and gave the vaccines the night before he sold me the kitten. The kitten has not stopped sneezing and has had dark mucus in the eyes that have not cleared. I have contacted the breeder about the sick kitten but they will do nothing to remedy the situation.

Miss Peters, I live very close to you. I would be happy to come pick up the sick kitten so you don't have to deal with this any more. It sounds as if getting him to a new home would be best for both of you.

Jeff and I have resided in GA for 3.5 years, orginally from Upstate, NY where we were in an agricultural zone. We started Peach State Lynx Cattery in 2013. Miss Peter's turned us into Animal Control, GA agriculture Department & code enforcement. Beth from GA agriculture inspected my cats on Friday November 11th 2015. He "quoted" our cats are beautiful and healthy "he's never seen such gorgeous Bengal's". IF we were in a rural area he would have given us a license that day. I am in an R1 Sub-division which is zoned against having a Cattery or any type of business which we were unaware of "we never hid what we were doing. Jeff & I have lost our home, job and all the investment we put into making our cats a beautiful safe, loving place. Our males are in 4x8x7 runs. My females are housed in our garage which is insulated, sheet rocked, stucco ceiling, air conditioned and heated during the winter months, did I mention 504 sq feet. Our kittens have NEVER been in the cattery, they are in a nursery downstairs in our split level home (as the south most places DO NOT have a basement). In our nursery they are provided condos, houses, toys with grain free food, can food & a diet of raw. Miss Peter's never put the kitten in quarantine "as per contract" nor did she ever do a 72 hour Vet check. It is not illegal to give a kitten FVRCP vaccine. It can be purchased through revival animals. We have done everything to appease Miss Peter's. I was NEVER contacted till October 6th (one month after purchase date purchsed September 6, 2015) of any issues with her kitten. The only reason I had any aknowledgement of this is when Miss Peter's phoned me. Miss Peter's along with her sister Melissa had me on a three way conversation wanting to purchase a kitten of ours. I have conversations with Melissa stating Miss Peter's kitten was not sick. Miss Peter's said her vet told her it was either URI or viral, gave the kitten amoxicillan/clavomax. I told her I believe the kitten was stressed, it was environmental. What Miss Peter's hasn't mentioned is she has two cats which came from our Cattery. If this kitten now 6 plus months old has URI the other two cats in her house would also. I sent Miss Peter's Snap tests proving my Queen and King were tested against any infectious disease. I put a lot of pride, time, love, care & heart into my cats. Now Miss Peter's three months half months later is demanding a full refund or she will challenge us in court. We have now spoken to a representative, in the state of GA when you sign & initial a contract there is no buyer's remorse. At this point I have been advised by a legal representative that this is harassment & Deprivation of character.

When I delivered the kitten to the complaintant, she agreed that he was healthy ( no runny eyes, no runny nose, and of correct weight for his age- which at 12 weeks he weighed 4 lbs). She had signed our contract, and in section 1, it requires the buyer to have the kitten vet checked within the first 72 hou0rs after gaining possession. It also states that we require buyers to quarantine our kittens for 7-10 days to allow the new kitten to acclimate to thier new environment. She did not do this! She is in breech of contract! She has not proven to us that she did the 72 hr vet check. If she had done this to start, then her vet would have shown her that our kitten we sold her was healthy from the start. Every cattery I have ever talked to all have this 72hr vet check requirement in thier contracts. So now, based on her heartless actions, we have lost our business, thousands of dollars in investments on our cattery, our cats as they all need to be rehomed or else taken to the shelter by animal control, our home, which means we have to move to a zoned agricultural area, and possibly my job! All this over a kitten she bought from us for $400.00.

she didn't seem to think the cat was unhealthy when she was posting pictures on Facebook.

I find it very shameful that someone would stoop to such a low level. This woman is the prime example of a scam artist. Peach state lynx cattery goes above and beyond to meet the expectations of their clients, and ensure that ALL their kittens are healthy upon arrival. I have purchased two kittens from this cattery, and both were incredibly socialized and HEALTHY. Our cats rode 16 hours in the car, arrived to a new home with a large dog, in completely different seasonal climate. They acclimated quickly and without any problem or health concern. I also want to touch base on the fact that this woman says the cattery is in the basement under the house.. This is completely false, not only is this woman a scam artist, and a liar, but what she is doing is slander. This cattery allows all of their cats free range of the house. They are not kept in dark or dirty rooms, and are never neglected. Peach State Lynx sells beautiful healthy kittens, and they are always more than accommodating to their clients.

Peach State Lynx is a wonderful Cattery! I appreciate everything they do for the cats and kittens that they have. I got my own cat from Peach State Lynx, my cat was well socialized, healthy, and happy when she arrived at my home two years ago. I couldn't be happier with her or Peach State Lynx personal touches in regards to answering my questions along the way. I have no idea what this person is talking about. I would recommend Peach State Lynx to anyone for kittens anytime!

Are you sure you have the right cattery for a complaint?!
Peach State Lynx is the BEST cattery I have ever dealt with - and that includes those in New York, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Kentucky and Germany! These folks are honest, hard working cat lovers who take amazing care of their animals. They socializetheir kitte s beautifully, feed top nutrition food, have clean bright rooms for their cats with toys ... even inspectors comment on the health and incredible condition of their adult cats and kittens.
(And you do not have to be a veterinarian to give shots other than rabies.)
I wouldn't hesitate to deal with Peach State Lynx, they have proven themselves trustworthy time and time again, answer every question no matter how "silly" and go out of their way to match cats with owners for a lifetime of love.

I've gotten several kittens from Peach State Lynx. They have all been well socialized and very healthy. Their cattery is not in a basement, not sure why this person would say that it is. All I can say is that I've never had a problem with them or their kittens, nor did anyone else that I know to have gotten a kitten from them
