The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

Auction is set to TAKE money from people who would not suspect that the PRICE of adding 1 penny to the bid costs 1 dollar.. ! Most online auctions you get what you spend.. if you spend $20 then you get $20 in total increments.. and do NOT spend one dollar to bid only 1 penny on an auction. YOUR COMPANY takes advantage of people use to EBAY.. and there is NO FUN (as your url states) in being USED...

The fact that I was not able to bid manually, added to the insult, with the mandatory Robot zipping thru my $$$ within Seconds!

Your company is a RUSE to steal from people! I want my $19. back.

This is a really bad site and it is nothing more that a way to rip people off. I disputed with Paypal but the following is what they sent: Unfortunately, we are denying your claim because your purchase was for a virtual, digital, or intangible item, which is not covered under PayPal Purchase Protection. We only cover claims involving physical items that can be shipped and tracked. We encourage you to work directly with your seller to resolve the problem.
You'll find their contact information on the Transaction Details page.
I WOULD LIKE MY $20 BACK!

I have been contacting Bidfun and PayPal to try and get a refund of money that was deceptively taken from me. I escalated the dispute with PaYPal but they replied that it was unsuccessful. Maybe the more people that complain to them will help in getting our money back.

Hi All. Yes me too today got conned. I have just written email to their support address but doubt I will hear back. But I want to contact PayPal and also Facebook which is where I saw ad for Bidfun. Facebook should know they are advertising a dishonest scamming business. I am sure they would not be happy. Does anyone know how to contact Facebook? They seem to be faceless...hehe.
I am with other people here...lets all take action against Bidfun or rather Naxopresence UK. I am sure the Consumer Protection authorities in all our countries (I'm in Australia) would help get rid of this evil.
LET'S GET ON THE STREETS OUTSIDE THEIR OFFICES AND GET ON THE NEWS.

Bidfun has bots for bidding. Like grotoc, .no_limit. and many more. You cant win!. I spend more then 7.000 $ and winning like nothing. Let me know who is for a international law-action against this crime?

What an interesting way to make money. Really all they are doing is running a type of gambling outfit. Like putting money into a poker machine - you lose your money in the hope of hitting the jackpot. Whoever wins has only spent a small amount in comparison to what they win, but everyone else that "played the odds" loses their money - quite clever really.

Hey Binfunny. Loser. If its a Lotto, than call it a Lotto. It is not an auction, so they try to scam people. For organizing a Lotto they need a permit, which they lack. I encourage people to file complaints so BidFun can be prosecuted to the full extend of the Law.

All you people are crazy! You went to this site to try and get an item for 95% off! smarten up. Read terms and conditions. I also lost $20.00 from them but i wont cry about it because I know when I was getting into and knew that I would not likely win anything. There is a strategy involved. Bid only on no robot auctions and wait until 3:00AM and use your 20 bids. You are 80% more likely to win the auction and less likely to ### and complain for getting an item for pennies.

THis is like a lotto. Do you play the lottery and then ask for your $ back when you dont win? think about it people. you feel you got scammed because you are CHEAP!

Hi again - the truth comes out - I was very surprised when I received a response from them, but it is as we all suspected. Just to give you an idea, I bought 75 "points" from them and set up automatic bidding and was unsuccessful in my bid, but the item (an iPod Touch) sold for $25.90. When I went to start bidding on another item, my "points" were zero! That was why I emailed them - in every auction I have ever known (on or offline) the successful bidder pays the auction price and everyone bids on the next item they want to - here is the email response I got from them -

Hi,
I'm not quite sure what would have given you the impression that you should get them back? As explicitly stated on the site, each bid costs 1 point, whether you win the auction or not.
The BidFun team.

So there you have it - not only do they get paid by the winning bidder (is there one?), but EVERYONE who has bid also loses their money as well!

Here is a question - let's assume this is correct (I always thought if someone took your money without permission and gave you nothing in return it was called theft!) then can someone clarify something for me - if I had 75 "points" and the item I was bidding on "sold" for $25.90, then why don't I have 49.1 points left in my account? Why is my account zero?

At least everyone now knows exactly what we have here - a fraudulent scam - stay away from it guys.

Why didn't I read this stream first? Just got ripped off trying to buy my son an iPod Touch - I have sent them an email (doubt whether I will hear from them) and have tried to ring the phone number listed on their "PayPal" payment advice, but when it goes to their "voice mail" it says the mailbox is full! I have lodged a complaint with PayPal, so fingers crossed - if nothing else - this mob gets shut down. One thing to keep in mind - if you have given them credit card details it might be an idea to cancel your credit card - just in case they start taking money out of your account.

And I thought that I was the only one, seems that half the World has been tricked by this auction site Bidfun, they are crooks if you ask me, my 55 bid credits vanished in seconds and that is it your money has gone so you drop out and cut your losses or you buy more bids and lose more money, The auctions I use if you do not win an item you keep your money, do we have any chance of getting our money back and should Paypal investigate these crooks.Beware everybody do not be sucked in to bidding for a cheap item go to the shop and buy it.

BidFun Ripoff

Yes I agree that it is a ripoff and a clever one.
As soon as I saw the prices I knew it was a scam so had to find out exactly how it works.
Others on here have already explained the process but to summarise the standard cost of a $0.02 bid (or point) is $1 so to get to the real price you must MULTIPLY THE PRICE SHOWN BY 50. So, for example a camera that sells for $20 has actually cost bidders $1, 000. A huge profit for them if the camera retails for, say $200 and a huge loss for many who have bid and get nothing.

They also auction points. Again you must MULTIPLY BY 50 to get the real price and again people are being ripped off.

REMEMBER you effectively pay a standard $1 to bid $0.02 and you pay this $1 even if you lose the auction. This is a total scam in my opinion and I don't know why this site hasn't been shut down long ago and the operators prosecuted but then again, given the incompetence and greed of politicians and some of the departments they run, it probably shouldn't suprise anyone.

Some have accused the company of using its own robots to control the bidding process and this does appear to be the case. If they wanted to they could keep all the auctions going forever but the apparant mega bargain is always good for business as it sucks in more punters.

Also, I would classify this more as a gaming site masquerading as an auction site and I'm sure that there are much stricter rules governing such activities.

EVERYONE MUST REPORT THIS TO TRADING STANDARDS.

wow.. good on you!.. You know i wonder why Paypal are not looking into it some more? It must be so obvious now that so many people are lodging complaints (or claims) about these guys. All i can say is ... Please!.. people who have been ripped off by bidfun.com.au (.com or whatever domain extension).. tell your story and lodge a complaint to paypal or other authorities / banks etc.. We want to hear about it. The more said the better.. one day they will get their "just desserts".. or just deserts.. aha

There are 2 things that make the actions of BidFun fraudulent:

1) They take advantage of people being used to NORMAL auction sites like eBay and others, where the normal determination is that the winner of a bid pays the full cost of his bid. Here everybody bidding is paying but only the winner receives the item. BidFun do NOT point this out, you only find that information on their FAQ page which is not even referred to in their page menu, you have to go looking for it.. At the time of charging you and before passing you on to PayPal for payment is where they should clearly point this out, otherwise it constitutes FRAUD!

2) The prices they show on the web page for an item for sale are fraudulent. How so? I was interested in a laptop which they clearly showed had a retail price of $500. They also clearly showed that that item had previously been sold for $20.38, however, as we have all now discovered those are BidFun dollars (BF$). You buy 1 bid for $1 but the bid is only worth $0.02. therefore if an item was indeed sold for BF$20.38 then that is (BF$20.38 X 50 =) $1019! Showing the 2 amounts they way they are being shown constitutes FRAUD!

Raise a dispute with PayPal and pint out the above facts using the amounts shown on the item page you were interested in and take a screen shot of the page to later forward to PayPal when you escalate the dispute to PayPal. Also file complaints of fraud with your local consumer affairs bureau or even the police.

Whoever is behind BidFun is a fraud!
I'm going to report BidFun to the law enforcement in all jurisdictions, first of all in the UK where the person owning the BidFun name is located and next in France where this fraudulent web site is hosted.

Everyone, please do the same. Also everyone raise a dispute through PayPal, it only takes a moment and if PayPal get enough complaints they will shut down this fraudster.

Shame on me for not searching the company." MASS MAILING TO PAYPAL"; I spoke to paypal, and paypal will not remove this company unless they receive "a large number of complaints". Paypal will not even try to resolve the issue because no merchandise has been produced. MASS MAIL PAYPAL; THEY ARE JUST AS MUCH AT FAULT. My credit card will not investigate for 10 days, and by this time paypal has closed the case.

Dont worry about the ebay transaction, paypal will refund you for that. It doesnt matter if the seller provides proof of postage or not, it makes no difference. The only way the seller is covered is if they sent the item to you by REGISTERED post, and you have to sign for it. If you never received it, ie, never signed for a registered article, then you will be refunded by paypal. Just escalate it to a claim as soon as enough time passes. As for the funbid mongrels, I opened seven disputes, they refused to refund me so i escalated that to a claim but paypal did not find it in my favour so they closed it. I am still hoping if enough people who have been done over by funbid keep trying to claim through paypal they will eventually smell a rat and shut the [censor] down.

well try again maybe?... i got ripped off $100 by the bidfun crooks.. but also in the same week i got ripped off $320 by an ebay seller. I stupidly agreed to pay them direct through paypal. I found out in less than half a day that the ebay seller had deregistered and i was told to contact paypal immediately. I thought paypal might be able to intervine that transaction, but they have given the mongrel until 2nd december to supply a proof of postage. Of course i haven't received the iphone i paid for.. and i can kiss the money goodbye it seems. I've been web savvy for 12 yrs now.. can't believe i fell for 2 scams in the same week! Whats f**kn happening with this world?.. who let the [censor]s have access to the internet... i can't wait for the next generation.. not.

Piss off rtdxt, go somewhere else to flog your [censored]e. People here are trying to get their moneyback from this busted [censor] backyard operation known as BIDFUN.
By the way, I escalated my claim to get back my $170.00 from paypal but they said they couldnt close the dispute in my favour. When I received a follow up survey from paypal about how I found them and how they could be improved, I told them they could start by shutting down these bidfun [censor]tards and I let them know how disgusted I was that paypal is affiliated with them.

These sites in all countries should be shut down. Total rip off where they set up their own automatics bids which just rip peoples money off them.
Here in OZ on 23NOV they auctioned a 32" Tv worth around $600.
Well the winning "bidder", WastingBid.4 used 1924 points or Aussie dollars plus the purchase price of $118.14 to WIN a TV worth $600. $2042 for a $600 TV, now who thinks this might smell a little. TOTAL CRIMINAL RIPOFF, SHOULD BE CHARGED>

I have lodged a dispute at Paypal as well... so we shall see what happens. I dont expect much, cos i think BidFun have covered their bases? I was silly enough not to read that my credits i paid for were not refundable until after i bought them. Within 10 bids i realized it was all a bit sus with the whole bidding process, but could not get a refund on my unused credits. I looked into closing my account, but that meant i would lose all my credits along with it!... So basically the moment you buy your BidFun Credits, you are basically making a donation to the company (of course you may be lucky enough to win an item).
I have to add, that one item i was bidding on (worth $1500 RRP) sold for $330+, which means not only did BidFun make money on the purchased credits (dollar for dollar), BUT they also made over $16, 500 on that one item!... every bid increases by 0.02 cents which costs us $1.00 per bid! Not bad eh? They take their $16, 500 and buy the item from somewhere else on your behalf, and have it sent to you with FREE postage.. how generous of them ;-|
