I am writing about 20 % commission that Maccorp Czech s.r.o. charge people when they exchange currency. Their exchange place is the 1st on the way when people go from arriving trains into the city of Prague. Such a favorable location is used "very well", I guess.
I exchanged euros in Prague at Main train station at Maccorp Czech s.r.o. place. When I wanted to reverse this exchange transaction (as soon as I had been given the czech money and realized about the existence of surprising 20 % commission charge), the cashier adamantly rejected my request to reverse the transaction.

A lot of tourists, people lost and continue to loose every day a lot of money on exchange transactions performed by Maccorp Czech s.r.o. I would understand if the commission (service fee) is 2 - 5 %, but 20 % commission is unbelievable rip off in my opinion.

Just for the accuracy, the commission that I was charged during currency exchange was actually 19.7 %, not 20 %. Well, pretty much the same.

I exchanged 224 euros at the Maccorp exchange booth in Prague central station. Like the other customers I was shocked to discover that they had put a 20% commission on - equaling no less than 1, 114 CZK! At no point did the cashier inform me that I would be charged this kind of money, they simply advertised the exchange rate. I feel completely cheated by a firm that looked totally official and occupies a prime position in the station. They should have to make it clear to you when you are buying that they charge this amount.

While in Prague, I went to the nearest exchange station, which happened to be part of this company. I informed the man of the amount I am willing to change, and he then proceeded to tell me the amount I would receive. Deciding that it was a fair price, I told the man " The amount you will give me is the amount you just informed me of, correct?". The cashier confirmed that yes, this was the amount I would be receiving. After I handed over the correct sum, he handed me an amount that was 122 korony less than the amount agreed upon. I then told the cashier I wanted to reverse the transaction, and he was adamant that no, he will not reverse the transaction, because the commission fee is 20%. I asked him why he had not informed me of this, and he pointed to a sign behind him with the words "commission fee" in small letters. Not only did I feel cheated, but the cashier added insult to injury by calling me "blind" and began to yell at me that I did not sound like an American. As the customer, I felt insulted and told him his behavior was atrocious and as a representative of this company, he should treat me with respect. When I asked for his name, he laughed and said he will not give it to me, which just infuriated me even further, because I should be able to inform his employer of my unhappiness with the cashier. I am extremely unsatisfied with my experience with this company, and will not be giving my business anymore.
