J.G. Wentworth delay in refund

I applied to get cash for my annuity and after 30- 45 day found out it was not possible because of tax consquences. Well I had my request to J G Wentworth cancelled. They took a week just to send request back to annuity holding company so they received my July 30th Payment. They cashed the check from my annuity Co.August 1st and they have not sent me my refund as of yet !
All I get from customer service is we are looking into it and will send your refund to you. I am retired and need these funds
they do not care. They were only eager to work with me when they wanted to purchase my annuity now I am on the back burner!

J.G. Wentworth taking advantage of disabled

I was wondering how easy it is for JG Wentworth to make billions of dollars from structured settlements mostly from individuals who have been disabled and hurt in accidents. Could it be these people are medicated up and not in their right mind? That would be pretty smart of them to come up with that idea. JG Wentworth has a clause in their long contract that just asks are they under the influence of medications. All you have to say is NO and the contract is valid. My opinion is the disabled and hurt people just see money signs and reply No. When the medication is no longer taken these people regret signing their thousands of money away to JG Wentworth. Could there be a class action lawsuit in store for JG Wentworth.?

If you think about it we all know someone who has been offered the lowest amount offered by JG Wentworth. For instance I had a 25 year annuity set up for my 7 year old son and I and while I was under very heavy medication these fast talking salesmen named Aaron talked so fast while I was under the influence of pain medicine antidepressants, muscle relaxants, anxiety medicines, and he took 18 years of our payments without even counter offering. This transaction happened so fast I never realized what hit us. We are now suffering after the fact.. I wonder how many other hurt and disabled people was hurt by JG Wentworth. I know and understand fully how embarrassing this could be to talk about. Medicated and disabled people need to let them know how they feel about these fast talking salesmen from JG Wentworth. I read complaints that JG Wentworth always lowball the public which means bigger commissions’ for them. JG Wentworth never told me on the phone I could only sell half of my structured settlement! I read this company is worth Billions now.

A class action lawsuit against JG Wentworth would help us Disabled persons recoup some of our money back. I am now of sound mind and am upset what has been done to my 8 year old son and my self. I know there are millions of Americans in the same shoes as us. We are in dire need of this money that was swindled from us by these fast talking salesmen. Please leave a comment on your feelings on this subject. We were medicated up and made a decision that we now regret. JG Wentworth is vacationing down in Hawaii and the fast talking salesmen are enjoying their fast cars and new homes using our money.

Cashed in a million for $250k over 3 years. Totally disabled and a friend called JG Wentworth and told them that I was not of sound mind and even being extorted but they continued relentlessly with more phone calls. $2500 a month is now $200 for the next 21 years. Sold all my limp sums, even excepted $50k for a $100k lump sum payment that I would've gotten six months later.

Agreeed, my mom had a structured settlement that she sold to if . My mom always came to me for advice about finance, she would like to fill independent, unfortunately she wasn't . She was heavily Medicated with pain pills . Also a recovering drug user . That's why we put her settlement in a structured settlement so she couldn't get it all at once. Jg called me on three way with my mom and I told them no she can't sell it . It's no benifit to her to sell. I also asked how they could get it if it's structured . They told me to have her lie and say she wa son he streets and needed it now. I also told the please stop contacting my mom . I have a power of attorney so she can't sign for things like that. Due to her being sick and over medicating her self . But they continued and she signed against the advice . But they took advantage of a lady that is bipolar, and overly medicated with pain opills like OxyContin and dalodid. Any advice for me ? Please contact me at jecy73553@yahoo.com

I am completely
disabled andnon very strong medications. I don't call these places so I don't get screwed. You have a choice to call them, and you made a poor judgement call. they didntll call you. My suggestion would be to not do anything financiallu unless your completely clear headed. I know I wouldn't do something like this while I'm on medication that affects my judgement.

If you were truly under the influence of medication and unable to make proper decisions then you would have a case for duress IF the company had approached you and talked you into doing business with them. However, companies like JG Wentworth and others do not seek out customers actively. Yes they advertise, but they do not come to your door and force you into a contract. You had to seek them out and bring an offer to them (i.e. your annuity payments for an immediate cash payout). They accepted your offer and a contract was formed. It is unfortunate that you chose to make such a poor decision while you were heavily medicated. However, you freely made the decision and are therefore responsible for the consequences. Next time maybe you should try reading the entire contract before you sign it.

J.G. Wentworth No christmas for 16 kids

CAUTION this company is not to be trusted my Attorney had me RECORD all my conversations with them for a report to the Security Exchange Commission if necessary and it looks like it's necessary. This is a brief synopsis I own a construction company and make around $20K a month in this crazy economic nightmare I have 11 men who have worked hard all year and kept things going as best they could for the last 3 mos I have been on my back. I was rear-ended at 65 mph by a sleepy driver while stopped in turn lane clear liability. I had to have an advance on my $250K settlement of $15000 for CHRISTMAS BONUSES and a few other small expenses until I return to work in Jan. J G Wentworth took all the info and said with this amount of medicals they could help me even though I had no surgeries from accident I said if you can't do this tell me now because I have to pay the attorney $200 to fill out the paper work and secure the med records etc again no problem. I then received a call from a company Global Funding the next day one of Wentworths "lenders" there phone # was also given to me on the initial report if I don't hear from any one call Global. So this makes me think it's there only funding source. They wanted by banking info to wire my money I was approved for I asked what the total was they said U have been approved on Dec 22 $500.00 not $15000 after
I pulled myself together and realized that my Employees and there 16 Kids would have no CHRISTMAS I asked why was I deceived into thinking I would get the money I was told the Mgt review said my case was going to settle to soon in approx 4 to 12 mos that meant they could only extract interest for a 6 or 12 month period. Now it's 2 days before CHRISTMAS and J G Wentworth has destroyed the Santa for 16 Kids if they had been honest from the start I could have gone to the bank but it would have taken 2 days longer but I would have had my money. RECORD RECORD RECORD in the state of Ala at least it's ok for one person to record and not tell after all the record for training purposes ha.

Your right except that 2 of the 3 empl of JG Wentworth said before I ever talked to Global funding if all my info was correct and the Attorney filled out the paper work I would be funded in 2 days or less. None of these claims were made by Global until they called with the 500 offer after I had to pay 200 for Atty fee no mention of the 15000.00 as originally discussed. Like I said they did this because I would recover from most injuries in 6 mos BUT had they signed me up they would have found the brain injury would be 2 years or more. There loss but I know I'm better off now without them I just went to Bk and borrowed more $ on my paid for Lotus better than there compounded interest rate. I saved all our conversations jus in case some one files a class action suit. If evere I need this again I'll try Peachtree they look legit thanks for the info.

I did some more checking and this gets more complicated. It seems there is a J g Wentworth in the pre-funding business (see facebook) but I do not think this is a legitimate business. So, you may be the victim of some type of fraud. The real JG Wentworth is the market leader in purchasing structured settlements, they have a reputation for very good customer service - but they are not in the pre-funding business. JG Wentworth acts like a broker and uses a network of companies to fund pre-settlement transactions. Apparently they are good at getting deals funded but slow. Good Luck and make sure you are dealing with a legitimate business. Like I said you should call Peachtree or maybe Oasis.

Dummy - JG Wentworth isn't in the litigation pre-funding business - read their webiste. All they do is send your information to another funding company since they get lots of calls from al their TV ads. Do your homework and call Oasis or Peachtree directly.

J.G. Wentworth aweful customer service

Two weeks ago I called JG Wentworth to apply for a advance against a pending lawsuit that I have. Since my first initial phonecall to the company not one person has had the decency to call or e-mail me back. I have not been kept in the loop as to what is going on as far as my application is concerned. I have sent electronic messages to their customer service department through their website with no reply back for over a week now. I have left voicemail messages and nobody has called me back and every phone number for JG Wentworth online is either not in service or does not get answered. This is pathetic service and would not recommend this company to anyone. On the one rare ocassion last week when I actually manged to speak to a representative I was given such a could not care less attitude that I was totally disgusted.

J.G. Wentworth they cannot be allowed to get away with this

Here is my issue-please bear with me because for you to fully understand, I have to tell you the whole story. My 15 year old nephew was killed 5 years ago, in his home in Martinsburg, WV by a 9 year old holding a loaded 30 odd. His father who had basically nothing to do with his son for YEARS and lives in SD, felt compelled to sue my sister's home owners insurance. Don't ask me how he got away with that. Anyway, they awarded him $100, 000.00. $35, 000.00 was to go to my niece in payments starting at the age of 18. Some went to his step brother. I do not know why. Shawn hated him and they did not keep in touch. The rest went to a Gun Safety Charity. Then my sister tried to drink herself to death. She went into Kidney failure, liver failure and came within inches of dying. Jump ahead 5 years- 2007. Brittany turned 18 in March and got $6, 000.00. Spent $600.00 on clothes and the rest on drugs. This was in March. Come September she wanted more. She was not supposed to get anymore until she turned 21. She made repeated calls to her father who is a retired Service member in SD. He knew about the drug issue. He told her 'No' over and over again. For her to get the money, he would have to sign for it. He refused. He asked my sister why she will not give Brittany spending money. Kelly told him because she will spend it one drugs. She then went to JG Wentworth and got herself a Lawyer. Well, they tried to get the money for her and the Judge asked my sister what she thought. She stood in the Court room and told the Judge that if she got the money she would spend it on drugs. So, he told Britt 'No.' A month later, after repeated calls from JG Wentworth telling her that if they go to court again, she will get the money, back in Court they went. The Judge again asked my sister what she thought and she told him that her daughter would buy drugs with it. The judge told Britt that if she gets this money, she will only get one more payment when she is 21 and the rest of it which will total $20, 000.00 will vanish. She will not get it. He also told her that he will give her the money because 'I know that if I do not give it to you, you will be back.' So, on 11-5-07 she got her money. After giving her boyfriends step father $2000.00 to bail that loser out of jail (I am sure his mother had something to do with Brittany wanting the money), hotel hopping, shopping and drug doing ensued. 11-7-07, upon returning from work, my phone rang. It was my oldest sister Kim telling me to sit down. I expected her to tell me that something had happened to mom, being the natural order of things. No, I did not expect what I heard. My 18 year old niece was on life support. I want to know how JG Wentworth can get away with preying on people the way that they do. They are greedy money hungry people who preyed on a naive 18 year old with learning disabilities that did not FULLY understand what they were telling her. In my eyes, this amounts to stealing. She REALLY did not understand. All she knew was that she was getting money. I want to know how they were able to get my niece the money without my ex brother in law's signature. 11-8-07- She is waking up. They had to sedate her and will hopefully be removing the tubes tonight. Then, we will find out the extend of the damage. She has pneumonia from aspirating. 11-9-07 -Brittany woke up last night. It took 4 nurses to hold her down so they could drain her lungs. Then my mother walked over to her and looked her in the eyes. She calmed down and looked at my mom and said 'Mom Mom, I do not want to die.' I think she understands what has happened. They will not know until she is fully awake how much brain damage (if any-I pray not) there is. These people advertise on TV. What they do not tell you is that they take a big chunk of your money. And, everything they tell you is a lie. They preyed on an 18 year old heroin addict. Did they know she did drugs? Yes, My sister told them she did. They cannot be allowed to get away with this.

Don't we all learn the hard way. What do our elder's know? In the animal kingdom, the off-spring stay with the parent, and learn how to survive, in our world, teen's think they know it all! When they get burnt, they want to hit the re-set button. One common rule I use is: IF A COMPANY SPENDS HOURS, AND HOURS, POUNDING YOU ON TV. (CALL THE LAW OFFICE, CALL SO, AND SO DENTAL, CALL THIS CAR COMPANY, IF YOU HAVE BAD CREDIT) ECT. you know who they are, research the crap out of them, and more than likely, they are one law short of a scam.Did this person learn a valuble lesson? Only time will tell.

i never heard of a company that will lend you money on a pending lawsuit. Anyone can sue anyone for anything...not saying your case isnt legit but there is no promises you will get money. I have never used one of these services but I do remember when I initially filed suit against multiple insurance companies my attorney offered to lend me money without me even asking and I declined. I believe JGW and others will only lend you money on structured settlements/annuities (AKA guaranteed money!)

J.G. Wentworth took me for a ride!

Due to my Disability I am on very strong medication for Depression and Pain. I hardly remember doing so called business with JG Wentworth back in 2008. I can just remember being swooped on like a Giant bird had gotten ahold of me and took 3/4 of my Annuity from my 4 year old and my self. We are now struggling! That money was fought for by myself and my son when my wife died unexpectedly in a Doctors Care. I just now have a question. Can you legally sign a Contract while being under the influence? Is the Contract Binding? Please email me at, [protected]@msn.com Thank you!

J.G. Wentworth misrepresentation of contract and interest fees to mentally diminished woman

Kathryn survived a head on car accident with a drunk driver, Kates head injuries were severe. After a lot of thought and planning, a structured settlement was set up for Kathryn to have a lifetime income starting in May 1987. Kate has been receiving payments monthly for income. We have just discovered that JG Wentworth convinced Kate in August 1996 to take part of her settlement out of Liberty Mutual. This decision has reduced her income leaving her only able to afford a studio apartment, no transportation and with very little spending money. JG Wentworth with its exorbitant interest rates. has received $416, 000.00 from her repayments.for the $152, 300.00 which Kate took out of her life income. Due to her physical and mental diminishment caused by a head injury in the car accident in 1980( in which her mother was killed, ) Kate is not competent to reorganize the carefully thought out dispensation from Liberty Mutual. She is in no way competent to make major decisions regarding the dispensation of that money. She was a victim and led astray. Kate does not have employment and she may never be employed because of her deficiencies. We want her to feel capable and responsible. That is the way we want her to feel, but she is not able to be responsible for making any life changing decisions such as the contract that JG Wentworth made with her. She told us that JG Wentworth called her once or twice a day to entice her to withdraw in lump sums, her lifetime income. She was coerced give in and agree to take the money. All to late, we now have heard that those repeated phone calls began each time that a contract with JG Wentworth was completed. They convinced her to take out another loan, at least three or more times. There should be a law that prohibits companies like JG Wentworth from preying on people with diminished mental development. How could a person with limited judgment and reasoning be allowed to make such a monumental decision?

She will not be out from under JG Wentworth until 2013. Is there any recourse?

Came here lookinG for this conversation. Had a friend with a structured settlement related to severe lead poisoning and developmental delay. Not the brightest needless to say. Took out lump sums until it all was gone and then rent-a-center came and took their stuff back he couldn't afford his apt and the old broken Mercedes tanked. Then the girlfriend and friends disappeared and he was broke bouncing between gas stations and fast food restaurants sleeping on his using mother's couch. Every bad decision rolled into one.

To stopbeinganidiot,
Your post contained errors in proper grammar, punctuation, and spellIng . If you are going to ridicule another based on their poor writting skills, please write a post without these errors yourself. You are in no place to call another an idiot if you lack the same basic knowledge to complete a paragraph that is free of any punctuation or graphical errors.

I can make a recommendation for you. Most of your post was written with run on sentences. Please take a refresher course in English to learn how to write a complete sentence properly. Spell check ( other than suggesting to rephrase) can't help you there.

Why don't any of you people speak proper English or write using proper grammar or punctuation or even spelling? I mean, there is a spell check at the bottom of the text box! No wonder you idiots are getting scammed out of your structured settlements, if you can't even speak the language properly, how can you possible understand the legalese of the financial contracts you sign? If I may make one recommendation to everyone on here, GO TO SCHOOL AND GET AN EDUCATION BEFORE WORRYING ABOUT YOUR CASH PROBLEMS! You can go to a community college or state institution on federally guaranteed student loans if you don't what little cash would be needed to pay in-state tuition up front. Once you've completed some basic English reading and writing courses as well as some intro to finance and perhaps math courses, then go back and look at your structured settlement/cash issues and stop looking like ignorant fools ranting and crying about how some corporation took advantage of you, when you let them.

JG Wentworth,
I would have to say it's a scam in getting his money or some companies money then you have to pay them back with heavy interest damn that's expensive grrr.

I agree with this complaint. I had a structured settlement and sold it to 1 of the top companies and now I because I was mentally Unstable and heavily medicated because of a tratic brain injury. That was 6 years ago and I am not able to pay bills I am disabled and they did the same thing to me call me constantly every day. I was never in court they said I did not have to be there I only sign 1 paper and I don't remember even doing that. I believe that I should get my money back.

I sort of have to agree, with happy mama, Most transactions financial or not can be overwhelming or misunderstood, It would have been in her best interest to hire an attorney to ensure a fair process, Most people fail to realize that you can contact several companies to get a feel of what you would be dealing with, Personally i have found JG Wentworth to be very patient and not uncommonly good at they're marketing and sales tactics. I have learned a lot about the process because of patience on my end on on they're end. Clearly it is your interest to get the most out of your transaction, it is also clear that any lump some company will try to get the most out of the transaction. My suggestion is... Decide what amount best suits your needs. And do your home work. Most people who are unhappy with the after math, were unhappy with the process from the beginning. It is in your best interest to come up with a realistic needed amount and also determine what would be a realistic interest rate. Keep in mind, you can negotiate! Sometimes sitting on your decision could mean receiving a higher net with a lower interest rate. If you are unsure or not happy with the terms, do not continue. Chance are if your unhappy in the end, you were not happy with the decision from the start. No one said, business was fair, so do your homework, Not just on any company but the entire process including expected rates and terms of agreement. Most people who take to these transactions are often in immediate need of some sort of financial aid. Companies like JG Wentworth will provide you with respectable business which some find unfavorable, yet it is no different than the way other businesses conduct business. Chances are, you do not need the amount you are requesting so, question YOUR intent throughout the process, remember each yr contracted means consistent interest rate payback. DO YOUR HOME WORK, i do not mean on the company, most companies practice and trade in the same manner. They only become devils when you realize that you are equally unhappy at the end as when you started. try to understand the balance of rates and what your money is actually worth down the road. NEGOTIATE, BUT BE REALISTIC.

there is no way they can do that, has she been to court because this whole process cant be completed without a court order and being seen before a judge so there has to be more to this, the judge for one is there for your protection and he would not have aprove dit if it was not good for your benefit now for her to be able to afford a studio what the hell is she complaining about someo ppl out there like her in her condition dont have that so that makes me feel like you are in it for the cash greed and that is a sin my friend I have seen plenty people like you that only hang around because of the cash I recieve a settlement like your friend but in my case my father was the one who died and suffered I lived and I am fine and I know for a fact there are going to be people around you just because of the money so I say what does she have to say about this and not you. But she cant know can she because she is damaged.

J.G. Wentworth calling repeatedly (after refusing the ridiculous offers!)

My husband and I called this bogus company for a quote on how much we could get for my structured settlement. They offered way-less than what we were wanting to get out of it. SO we declined the stupid offer. They have not stopped calling for the last 2 months! Each time, they call about 4 days a week, try to offer something different and they are incessant! For the last 2 weeks, we have told them to stop calling! They are still at it.
This company can't take NO for an answer. I feel fortunate that my husband and I did not take their ridiculous offer of 60% less than what the settlement was going to be worth after the anuity payments come in, eventually...
Who do I talk to because these stalkers won't stop calling?

Hey Amber! My name is Brandon, and I work with a group of private investors in Los Angeles. We recently scraped public records and noticed that you were getting a significantly lower amount than what you were owed by JG Wentworth. Our research team has indicated that we can get you at least 30-40% more than what you are currently being offered. Unlike them, we do not have any hidden fees, we will not harrass you and blow up your phone, and you would be dealing with me directly. We deal with our clients on a one-on one basis to meet all of thier finacial needs and goals If this is of any interest to you, please give me a call at [protected]. Have a blessed day

non of these complaints that i am reading dont have anything to do Jg Wentworth.. almost all of them seem to be that people just don't know how it works...do yourselves a favor and leave your money where it is and take your monthly payments no matter how long it takes to get it all ...its better to get something every month for 10 or 20 years than trying to get a lump sum like the rest of the people and then you're broke in a few weeks or months with the same problems...trust me its not worth it when a little patience you can get 100% of your money over time

i have sold an annuity payment to Jg Wentworth and had no such problem. Perhaps your problem is due to your own personal error with the banking account. good luck with that
Nice try JGWENTWORTH-LESS Common practice to rebut without rebutting, but if they where so good, they could rely on word of mouth, instead of mass advertising.

I am still dealing with this company...unfortunately. I am trying to sell part of an annuity to them, and have gotten nothing but lies. First, I was told things would be done by the end of May...now almost end of July, and nothing. Since the court approved me selling the payments to them, I have gotten nothing but lies and run around. Was told that funds will be cleared 48 hours after the judge rules...that was 10 days ago. Then I was told there was a paper missing from my files, and within 2 hours of them receiving that paper, funding would clear. They have had the paper for 36 hours now, and still waiting for the funding to clear. This is in violation of something known as the good faith law. Funding hasn't been approved, and no money from them has been paid to me so far. This company is no better than Peachtree Settlement Funding. I STRONGLY recommend finding a different company to deal with. I am about to cancel the contract with them, and find another company to deal with myself.

J.G. Wentworth rip off!!

I am deaf (Hearing impaired) single mom of four, victim of jg wentworth as well. They offered me an quote to get 40k out of my annuity. Then the judge approved, finally I got only 38, 000. I requested for 40k exactly, not 38k. At first, I put 100k in my annuity at john hancock life insurance (I regret that I did and wished I never did, at first as well that I never understood annuity due to my deafness related english grammar - I fluented american sign language that doesnt speak too well at english) my old attorney rushed me into sign the annuity contract with john hancock. I was too young to understand it too. I thought it was very cool to get more profits but now I realized it doesnt. Time of life is very precious. So until in year 2007 I saw the commerical about jg wentworth, I was like - wow, go for it. So this is how I get down to it.in the end, I was suffered of domestic violence and now currently living in transitional housing program after my ex abuser used my 38k and left me pregnant, homeless. I have no place to live but thp. So I called the jg wentworth again, and they said I dont have enough transaction, but only 5, 500 left value whatever it is. I was so upset. I m trapped here in washington, I need to get out of here...

Until just now, I just called jg wentworth today on october 12th at 3 30 pm, and sam said on the phone that he cannot make an offer because of extend something - I dont really understand what he means by that and he said something about my value is very lower - I ended up being confused and devastated big time. I interrupted and asked him what is up with my 60k that I was supposed to have left right now since I had 38k but 40k anyway so I had 100k in the annuity contract. Wheres my 60k go? Then sam said, "sorry we cannot help you right now and we are sorry about your homeless situation and the end of transaction will be in year of 2024." something he said like that but not exactly — I was really pissed. I do feel like they are greedy and doesnt care about my situation but wants money. I m the one who got sexually assault not them. I have the right to touch my money and people like us do have the rights. This makes me mad and I do feel offended big time. I m concerning about john hancock because of values like jg wentworth said that I dont have any values. Whats happening with john hancock's annuity contract we agreed not to lose my money. They werent supposed to use my money to pay the lawsuit for john hancock's irresponsibility, fraud, discrimination whatsoever.

... I m victimizzzzzed in all of this. Public storage, john hancock, and now found this subject, here it is jg wentworth.

I owned a John Hancock policy and although I agree JG Wentworth is the equivalent of a huge payday loan, I think you're wrong to slam John Hancock.

Before I bought a Genworth policy from YourLifeSolution.com, I had a John Hancock UL policy that was quite simple and competitive.

Personally, I wouldn't have ANYTHING to do with a company that airs the stupidest, most annoying adverstisement that J.G. Wentworth has. Just like that idiot from "Binder & Binder" wearing that stupid hat saying "We'll deal with the government - you have enough to worry about!" They too are a TOTAL ripoff.

J G Wentworth is a scam and a bunch of liars. They say one thing and do another. They told us they were buying our annuity payments but then we found out that they bought the annuity. Probably nothing can be done but a word to the wise DON'T sell your money to them.

Wow how do you ###s get these settlements. I mean both of you have the worst grammar I've ever seen. I don't blame the deaf commenter because there are obviously things that don't translate well but the other dude that responded with an essay of uselessness and grammatical errors. Who are you to give advice to anyone. Always consult a lawyer or trusted financial planner when dealing with your funds, it sounds like you needed to make that 100k last awhile and this company ripped you off. Seek council with an accountant and find what's left of your money. A good one should be able to trace all the funds and if there was sketchy business practice withJD Wentworth you may look into suing them and BAM another settlement.

okay, JG unlocks your money (whatever sum you are requesting) - there are tons of fees (underwriting, court fees, lawyers fees, paperwork, hours billed to your account, etc...) they Cover those fees so you don't have to come out of pocket, and they recoup that money! and guess what they charge interest on those expenses and they charge you on doing what your do not know how do to. Which is unlocking your money through a Court and add on the convenience of time (instead of waiting YEARS for that money). In other words, you are paying for a Service. Like re-roofing your house, I'm not a licensed professional roofer, I pay someone who is qualified to roof and I would be charged more for a company that is Insured and Bonded. Same thing here, there are a lot of Settlement companies that do what JG, Peachtree, Singer Asset, Law Capital, Oasis Legal.- my Structure company, gave me a list of Settlement Funding companies they do business with on a regular bases - they did not recommend any company, I just asked for names and I did the research of calling each one (5). JG gave me the best offer (meaning terms and conditioning that worked FOR Me) - I hope this helps. Don't be lazy, do your research and ask LOTS of Questions and if the company doesn't want take the time to explain, then call a different Company that will take the time to explain, everything to you line by line.

It is unfortunate, but if you think about it; Human Beings are the nastiest animals on this planet. That being said, trust no-one. The people that screw you worst is family, I've been done in by Pastors, Brothers, Sisters, Doctors, ect... and all with the best intentions. I've lost a son, lost a fortune, and lost faith, but I still help people, for them, not for me, or any ( What a Great Person) akolades. This is just the way I am. The past is the past, chalk it up, trust no one, reaserch everything before you make a choice, and don't be pressured into anything. I know this happened along time ago, but I was just doing some research on JG Wentworth, and read this story, I don't know you, or your situation, so I hope this will help some other 20 something, that thinks they know all about life, and please use spell checker.

U.S. Settlement funding your information is completely misleading and inaccurate. JG wentworth only provides NET offers to their clients and any deductions from the final price would have been from a cash advance or a check they have already received from their insurance company. Before you decide to slander a company with an A+ rating on the better business bureau you should get your facts straight.

Your complaint makes absolutely no sense. You have no details, no explanation of what your problem actually is. Despite this you are making a post to this website to vent. Based on your refusal to give any real information about your problem, I am left to assume that you made a bad decision. In my experience, people who do a lot of complaining are victims only to their own greed and stupidity. You didn't read the fine print, to didn't pay attention to details, and let both your greed and laziness make all your decisions for you.

The worst part is that you cannot even come up with a decent lie to cover up your mistake. Now you've let your frustration at your personal failure get the better of you. The result is that you just had to come on here and tell the entire world about how you screwed yourself over. Congratulations.

Falling for a cheesy commercial when it is presented on the phone over and over to a woman with diminished thought processes is understandable. In 1980 Kate survived a head on car accident with a drunk driver, Kates head injuries were severe. her suit was won because she would have a lifetime of struggle from her head injuries. After a lot of thought and planning, a structured settlement was set up for Kathryn to have a lifetime income starting in May 1987. Kate has been receiving payments monthly for income. We wondered why she never had enough money to do anything extra. We were relieved that it wasn't a drug habit as we had suspected when we recently discovered that JG Wentworth convinced Kate in August 1996 to take part of her settlement out of Liberty Mutual. This decision has reduced her income substantially leaving her only able to afford a studio apartment, no transportation and with very little spending money.
