Jane Salon review: Yelp comments can be manipulated by this owner 2

I went for the first time to Holly (the owner) at Jane Salon. I was very unhappy with the highlights (it looked like a wig). I called and left a message stating I was unhappy and to please call me. I never received a call back. I had pre-booked an appointment and decided I would go and talk to her then. Perhaps she would redo it and not charge me for her services. She never showed up for the appointment. I left a message and stated I was not very happy and I waited outside of her shop for half an hour. She did call me back and suggested to me that one of the other girls told her I was not happy and she decided I would not show. She did send me a note beforehand stating she would see me soon. I "Yelped" this information under her reviews (the "Yelp" comments made me decide to try her out in the beginning). Today I went to check my comments again (they were there the other day) and they were gone. What good is "Yelp" if this owner can weed out the negative comments and leave only the positive comments?

This was the worst experience I've ever had. After leaving 5 msgs I finally got a call back. I was told the salon does not have a receptionist.I told the stylist I had curly hair and needed a dry cut, she recommended a stylist and said she would have her contact me. when the stylist (Mone't) contacted explained exactly what I wanted and she made me an apt. I went in for highlights and a trim. I told her I wanted on 1/2 inch cut (dry cut for curly hair), and to keep my layers. I showed her a picture and asked if she could do it. She confidently said yes. I also asked that it look natural and that there be no orange or brassy color. She said, "no problem". The conversation consisted of her telling me about her pole dancing classes and her friend traveling across the country to strip. She burnt my ear while curling my hair, after I asked for it to be straightened.
I left with orange, yellow, brown, and blond. The ends of my hair are fried and severely damaged. She cut over 4 inches off of my hair, I got no layers but instead a straight cut. I went home and began crying, I've never had such a bad experience.
I contacted her and explained how devastated I was, her response was to color it a solid color. When I asked her why she cut 4 inches off, she said she cut off what she felt was needed.
The following day I went out and purchased extensions and asked that she help me put them in, She than asked me to no longer contact her. I am so disappointed and shock by the level of unprofessionalism she displayed. I will make sure to let everyone I know how terrible of a service Mone't provided. The owner called me 3 days later and said there was nothing she could do. And when I asked for a corrective service to be done, I was told that it wouldn't be wise to come back to the salon again.

Not surprisingly there were two positive reviews left for Mone't and the accounts only had been active for a few days.

It's sad to see a business try to hide and cover up their mistakes rather than take responsibility and fix them.

I had a very similar experience recently!

I was a client of Holly's for 2+ years. I purchased a groupon for service (at Holly's suggestion) and tried to get in contact with her for 2 solid months (via text and phone calls) to book an appointment to redeem it. She refused to redeem it by way of avoiding my attempts to contact her. I still don't know why that was, but I was shocked to get such bad service (well, no service really, since she never returned my texts/calls - not even to offer an appointment with an alternate stylist). Two months later and several hours on the phone with groupon and they finally issued groupon bucks as a settlement (they would not issue a cash refund).

Overall, severely disappointed with the lack of service/respect from the salon. Highly suggest taking your business elsewhere. Cannot believe that a business owner would act in such a manner. You would never guess it upon meeting Holly, she comes across as being the sweetest person on earth.
