I know this thread is from a really long time ago, but My Son is now seeing Natasha Cassidy and some things just don't seem to add up about her. She is lovely and I really like her, but there are a lot of holes in her story as to how she ended up in Miami and now in Melbourne, Florida. Can anyone out there fill me in on Natasha (Natalaya)? What is her family like, why would they let her come all the way to Florida with no car? Did they have a falling out or something? What is her past? Is she really who/what she says that she is? Did she graduate with an LPN Degree from SUNY-Canton? I want to know what her story is before my Son gets too involved. She seems to be very nice and a lot of fun, but comes on very strong with emotions. The first time we met she said that she loved me! Her second date with my Son she started calling him Babe! I just don't want my Son to get burned by someone who may have ulterior motives. Please fill me in if you know her. Call or text me [protected]

If I was going to name a family that has influenced more children both on a local and an international bases it would be the Cassidy family who currently have 3 bilogical children and 5 adopted children, most of which have special needs. 100's of children have come through there home and found true happyness either by having an operation they couldn't afford setting up local families with some of the kids God truly works through them and they never give up - and I hope to God they don't give up on Jake. He will be fine. The dynamics at work when he did such a stupid thing can not be denied. does he have to make restitution to these people? Absolutley, but when all is said and done Jake deserves another chance to succeed in life and I truly believe he will. Anyonewho personally knows him knows he has defied all odds already. Left in an orphange until he was 5 unable to walk due to polio so he layed in a crib all day every day.with no stimulation from others... The Cassiday family brought him home from Russia and gave him several operations, and fell in love with him as he stayed with there family. They realized the wanted him as part of their family so they adopted him. He has brought much joy to their family and will continue to if given a chance. The Cassidys know there implusive son and are doing anything an everything in there power to get him help and I believe the will surprise everyone and Jake will come out a productive loving member of society. Don't let the media crucify him - we are all ashamed of certian things we did as kids - and thank god it wasn't planted all over the news. Obviously he should be involved in community service of some kind and definitely pay restitutition to these families but Jail is not the answer here. Get him a progam for troubled kid they work wonders. But don't every, every give up on your child. For god sakes he's only 18! I thank God every day my parents never gave up on my and I am here to tell about it today. I have a lovely husband, 2 great kids, (not without our own set of troubles) but you stick by your kids and they eventullay get it. I am rooting for Jake...He deserves to have a chance to make restitution and go on with this life in a productive way.

Spellchick- Wake the f__k up. What, do you live under a rock? If the family is hurting at all, it is because they failed as parents. Not, because their poor little son has mental issues with society. Jake Cassidy should pay for his crimes and the parents should be held responsible for his actions. One of your prayers should be that the victims don't burn their house down.
Victim #5- I like your suggestion. Back in the days of the "Wild West, " the town folk all carried guns, hung thieves from the nearest tree, and didn't put up with any crap from the village idiots. If this tradition existed today, the quality of life would be better.

Finelly someone spelled vandal correctly. It is so convenient to hide behind a profile and the internets and hurl condemnation at a hurting family. They all need our prayers.
Victim #5, you are a victim of more than auto vandalism. You REALLY need our prayers.

My car was the last one they vandalized. They were caught after I gave the police the plate number and discription of the car that Saturday night. I am out over $1100.00! Not to mention the fact that my 8 year old couldn't sleep for 2 nights because she was afraid the "bad kids" were going to come back and get daddy's car! I am sorry that the vandal had such a bad childhood - but if the parents had any sense they would have known what was going on. This was NOT a one time occurance, it had been going on for months! And as far as the 14 year old...come on! Why don't you know where the hell your CHILD is at 4am!? Jake Cassidy was not a child and should be charged as an adult, but if MY 14 year old ever pulled this, I would be ashamed and should be charged for the acts of my child.

And to "my car was trashed" - I feel your pain, I'm just glad they were caught.

What parent allows a 14 year old to drive around with an 18 year old at all hours of the night?
The parents of the 14 year old should be charged with “endangering the welfare of a minor.”

I feel sorry for the parents but this was not a one-time thing. These kids were out on multiple nights. Where were their parents? Maybe they had no control over the 18-year-old, but what about the 14-year-old?

I had $600 of damage to my car so I'm feeling a little bitter. It sounds like these kids need serious help but maybe they also need to experience some real consequences for their actions.

Has it ever crossed your little minds that maybe the kid was "sleeping at a friends house" that evening? Do you think 13 years changes the fact that a person has sever mental disorders? Do you think that parenting a certain way will be enough to overcome a mental disorder? Let me break it down really small so you people can understand this, the kid is mentally unhealthy and it has NOTHING to do with the parents. The other kids are great and unless the Cassidy family chained this kid to a pole in the basement they could not have prevented what happened.

PED- The parents are to blame! They couldn't staighten this kid out in 13 years? These kids were arrested at 8:30am Sunday morning after spending the night vandelizing the neighborhood. A victim chased them down after having his car vandelized. The parents didn't even realize their kids were missing the night before. Get your ###ing story straight!

Hey PED... Maybe the Cassidy family has too many kids. They can't keep an eye on them, can they? They should have paid more attention to Jake, especially after he was arrested for burglary prior to his $200.000 destruction spree.
The hard working people who had their property vandelized want to send all the ###ed up kids on Long Island to your house. You can watch over them.

You guys are disgusting and ignorant. What does the family have to do with this? Was it the cassidy family that went out and vandalized these cars? NO it was one boy who was adopted at age 5 from Russia with a mental disorder and polio. He had a really messed up life BEFORE he was adopted by the Cassidy family. The family has opened their home to many MANY people in need and Mrs. Cassidy alone has saved hundreds and hundreds of children living throughout the world. You know nothing about this family and I personally know that they are one of the best families we have here in cold spring harbor. The other kids in the family are the absolute nicest kids you will ever come across. This boy was troubled and given endless amounts of help and treatment by the Cassidys but obviously not enough to compensate for the terror he went through as a small boy. Get your story next time jerks.
