I contacted a representative Gent Gragjevi in Nov 2010 to set up a POS terminal for my new business. According to our phone conversation, I agreed to pay $100 for shipping the terminal to me (which is not indicated in the contract), and he promised I can cancel the account without penalty ANYTIME. But later he sent me an email indicated he can only cancel my account within 2 months, I did not pay attention to what he said because I was so busy for my new business and also trusted what he promised on the phone.

Unfortunately, I decided to close my business in March 2011 because the business was not good enough to survive. And then I contacted Gent to ask him to honor his promise, what he said was that he was no longer with my account because it already passed 2 months, and the new representative said that I have to pay $500 to cancel my account early. I was shocked and angry because I felt I was fooled by this "nice" gentleman Genti. I did carefully review all agreements I signed with Gent, and do not see any "Early Cancellation Fee" on Schedule A and also do not see any "electronic set-up" fee $100 that I was charged in Dec 2010. And I am 100% sure Gent promised me on the phone he can cancel my account anytime (not only 2 months) if my business discontinue. I absolutely do not mind to pay $500 but I just feel I was fooled by this "nice" gentleman Gent.

$600 for 4.5 month for a POS terminal is ridiculous. And I won't mind to spend more time and funds to be treated fairly.

An appropriate settlement has been agreed by both sides

After discussing with the supervisor of the agent Gent, an appropriate agreement has been achieved by both sides. Therefore, I am withdrawing this complaint unless something new happens in the future. Thanks.

They are definitely a bunch of scam artists. We had signed a 3 year contract wit them for a virtual terminal. The price seemed fair, and it seemed like a great fit at the time. About two year into the contract I noticed that the monthly fees were not matching what the contract stated. Upon closer examination, I noticed a Data Security Fee for $15 a month that came out of nowhere, an admin fee that again came out of nowhere, effectively bringing our fixed monthly fees from $20 to $50. Apparently we were notified several months prior of this. As a business manager I assumed a contract locks in the fees and such for the duration of the contract, much like a lease, or any contracts we have with other vendors and service providers. Not with this crooks. It just means that they can come after you, and they can do whatever they please. After numerous complaints and emails to my sales manger, his manager, we had come to somewhat of an agreement, where some of the excess charges would be returned to us, the $20 monthly fee would be waived for several months as long as I signed a document. Given that the new arrangement seemed fair I went ahead with it. I did notice that the form had a contract renewal clause in it, and I specifically wrote in the email that I did not want the contract renewed, but that I would consider it when the time came. Low in behold, several months after the fact I noticed that the fees were getting ridiculous again, to an affective rate of 3.35% of the transaction. Some of the fees were called "other fees", didn't even take the time get creative with the names of the ### charges. Again, the new sales rep advised me that we were notified of the new fees several months ago. At this I that I wanted the contract canceled in December as that it when it was set to expire. Guess what? That paper that I signed in order to get the fees refunded effectively renew our contract, until 2017, even thought I specifically stated that I did not agree to any contract renewals at the time. Bottom line, record every conversation in dealing with crooks like that, keep every email, don't sign anything, and better yet, do not give them anymore business! -- Just got a phone call from one of their managers and apparently I will not be charge a cancellation fee at the end of the original contract! Power to the people!

Investing in POS terminals by Global Payment Canada is no good. They are nothing but trash boxes. It is better to deal with cash rather using the fun boxes. The printing quality is crap, the servers are always slow. Guys if you do not want to waste your money steer clear!

Global payment and LFG have been charging me for the past two years 47$ per month for a machine returned and service i cancelled two years ago. They have the guts to call me after i put a end to the payments telling me i am pass due on my payment.
I am happy to see i am not alone.

I must say the customer services by Global Payment Canada are not up to the mark. The company claims to offer one of a kind solutions to their clients but when it comes to extending actual support the executives behave nonsensically. Most of them are technically unsound and have no clue about how the systems they sell work!

Some time back I invested on merchants account services of Global Payments but it was my ill luck to invest on such package where the ROI proved to be zero. They even renewed the account for the next three years even without asking me which was horrendous. Guys beware of this service provider!

Beware of sales reps who introduce themselves as “from Global Payments!” Make sure you are speaking with authentic guys! I just had an unpleasant experience!

Global Payment Canada is a fairly big name in the Canadian market and therefore we felt that the agncy would be best suited for our business needs. We would like to caution those who team up with these guys. Their ‘well advertised security provisions’ are unreliable.

Global Payments are liars. I wouldn’t recommend them and suspect they are engaged in illegal activities.

I was also taken in by Global Payments and LFG. I cancelled my service 3 years ago and they are still charging me for the machine under a NON-CANCELLABLE 4-year lease at $36 per month (you can BUY this machine on the internet for $300). I returned the machine to Global 2 years ago per their WRITTEN instructions using the UPS form they faxed me. Now that the lease is over, when I asked Andree Chalifour, of Global Payments, to explain why I am still being charged, she says she explained to me verbally when I cancelled the service that I was to return the machine to LFG in the United States. This is untrue. Mme. Chalifour says she'll "look into" the whereabouts of the machine (which they are probably renting to someone else as we speak). She also says it was not their responsibility to inform me that they received it in error, or to take steps to return it or forward it. If and when they find it they will no doubt charge me a fee to return it. Meanwhile, LFG has "offered" to stop charging me if I pay a $150 missing machine charge. The worst part is that the CFRA (Canadian Federation of Restaurant Owners) who is supposed to be looking out for us restaurant owners are the ones who promoted Global to us, and they will not help with this problem at all. Please, somebody stop these criminals from taking any more of our money.

Global Payments is dealing with LFG (Lease Financial Group). I heard and I have personal bad experience with them. LFG is a scam company and there should be a class action law suit against it. Because Global Payments is dealing with LFG should also be listed on class action law suit as it should be aware of fraud companies before sending forms to customers...

I am unfortunately in a similar situation as you.
When i sign up with Global payments, the sales rep also indicated that and did not stated that there will be 500 cancellation fees nor did he tell me that i have sign a three year contract. My application was only 3 pages long and did not have the full contract. Also, wihtin 1 and a half year, my fees have increase 3 times. 1 times was when i sign up and he promised such fees and when i received my statement, it was another. Second time was during the first year, where theres now administrative fees of $10 and statement fees of 5. Recently in my 18months wiht global payment payments, i just recieved a notice of increase of annual fees of 130 and other ps fees. i had wish that the government would regulate more of all these merchants services. Who knows when again, they will increase my fees.
