I bought windows from Dixie Homecraters with a lifetime warrenty, now that I have a problem thay no longer will honor the lifetime warrenty, Mr. Mike Howell of that Corp. does not even have the courage to get back to customers that spent ten of thousands of dollars on his products... That is whats wrong with America... these prople should be arrested for robbery?

I have bad windows from Dixie Home Crafters. Of course it was a scam. Take the money and ditch em. I need new replacement windows as well. How do I go about this. Would love to be able to sue these scammers.

Please help!

What have buyers done about defective windows from Dixie HomeCrafters? Has anyone had any of their windows replaced by Soft Lite Window Company? I read some of the posts and understand that this company bought some of the inventory and equipment. I posted in August 2019 that mine needed replacing but I have not replaced any. They are getting bad enough that I need to do something. I have 11 windows. email rbnail49@gmail.com

Marjorie Pulliam... When Dixie HomeCrafters filed for bankruptcy the contracts became null and void. The BBB told me there was nothing I could do. I have 11 windows and most of them need replacing.
Soft Lite Window Company bought some of the enventory. www.soft-lite.com
[protected] x1010 or email TSchwartz@soft-lite.com. I haven't done anything about mine yet but they continue to get worse. I do want to replace them. Somewhere I read that the company could send a new replacement window if they have the information and the homeowner could replace it. I have no idea at what cost that would be.

Has anyone had any recent dealings with any of the companies mentioned to replace the Dixie Home Crafters windows? I also spent $10, 000 and have cloudy windows. Some are bad enough that I would like to replace them. We had to have the workers come back to our house because we could hear a lot of outside noise. We found out that the workers did not put insulation around some of the windows. There are still 2 windows that have noise coming in. I thought these were quiet expensive and have considered just going with a local company (Lowe's) or Window World.

Has anyone had any luck with any of this? We had all of our windows replaced in 2008 and have so many that have broken seals. I have been trying to find out how to remedy this for several years...hobiejohn@comcast.net

We had all the windows replaces in our home by Dixie Home crafters and have had several replaced with bad seals before they went out of business. This is the first I heard of them going out of business as I have about another 20 windows now that need to be replaced and that is not all of them. I know we spent a lot of money on these windows because downstairs we put sliding windows in. Can I get the 800 number and who you talked with so I can see what I can get started. I know we spent at least 30K and I am not happy at all.

On 9/16/1998 I purchased 22 double hung and 1 picture window from Dixie Home Crafters. They were paid $13, 085.00 in cash. I received the same warranty as everyone else that has complained. My picture window is defective and must be replaced and I have broken glass in one of the double hung windows. I spoke with Mr. Harris who told me I should contact Soft Lite Window Company. I looked them up on the web: www.soft-lite.com
[protected] x1010 or email TSchwartz@soft-lite.com. I am about to call the 800 number.

I just spoke with a rep from Soft-lite. She was extremely helpful. She informed me that Dixie filed for bankruptcy in 2012 and Soft-lite purchased some of their inventory or equipment. She also stated that the lifetime warranty became null and void once the bankruptcy was finalized. She referred me to a lady named Melanie, with whom I had to leave a voice mail message. Melanie returned my call within 5 min. and told me she needed the full set of numbers from the white label on the main-frame, master-frame or something like that. I am doing that now and will call her back.

How did this work out. We replaced every window in our home at a cost of $23, 000 . All seals have not broken but we have a lot that have and need to be replaced. I hope this is a viable resource. Did you get any satisfaction?

I bought 18 windows! Some are leaking between the panes, others are leaking around the frames. I have Huge Harris' cell number from years ago, but I don't know what he can possibly do. I took out a 2nd mortgage for this! Now I need a third? Class action is definitely the way to go!

I too used Dixie to replace all my windows and a warranty if any became defective.I paid them $8800. Well guess what some of them are so
molded between the panes that you can hardly see thru them and I can not find anyone to help me. If anyone is interested in filing action
against them, my email is justiceforsteve@att.net

I purchased 11 windows and they started fogging. I am with cwscott in saying why should more money be paid to replace windows with a lifetime guarantee. As stated in Dixie HomeCrafters contract to me: "agrees to furnish and install the following materials and GUARENTEES to do the work in a workmanlike manner in accordance with standard practices, and not to use any factory seconds, or substandard materials, no other warranty express or implied is given or made including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose". In their own handwritting, after the description of work to be done this company included: "Lifetime warranty on all labor and materials, including glass breakage and 40% energy savings guaranteed the first year or the company would pay $500.00. I have noticed the savings, but the more than half of the windows are discolored between the panes and I have no way of clearing that up. dh5t55@gmail.com

This company deceived us all. I purchased 14 windows plus a bay window and one picture window. My windows have leaked between the panes and look foggy and the locks don't work anymore. I paid too much for these windows and now I hear they are no longer in business. I'm willing to file a Class Action Lawsuit. This is very unfair to us all. My email is ajft7@aol.com.

In 2005 we purchased 12 windows from Dixie Homecrafters, they had the promise that the window seals would never fail. Of course, that is not true and 10 out of the 12 Windows in our home the seal has failed and they are fogging. Needless to say we are quite frustrated and feel ripped off. If anyone else is pursuing action against this company please let me know, I'd be glad to add my story to the case. We spent close to 10k for these windows.

We are also in the same boat, but with both windows and gutters. Might see about a class action lawsuit.

Why would I want to pay money to a company recommended by someone who already defrauded me?

I talked to Hugh Harris and he gave me the name of the company who has the build information of the Dixie Homecrated windows. This company bought out the inventory but NOT the liability of Dixie. They have the ability to rebuild & replace your windows for a charge. The name of the company is Soft-Lite Gorrel, Phone # [protected]. They charge a $25.00 quote fee that will be reduced upon placing your final order. They look up your original build info, make the windows and ship them to you to have your contractor install. Not the best remedy, but it's better than nothing!

The company changed names. The same partner in Dixie HomeCrafters is Hugh Harris. The new company name (which he bought the rights to tarnish) is Madaris Siding and Window Company. As CEO of the new "Dixie HomeCrafters" Mr Harris, being a man of character, will resolve your problem. He can be reached at [protected].

I bought & paid a large amount of money for these triple payne Kripton gas filled windows for my entire home & to find out now that they are failing that this company & it's warranties have up & disappeared like a fart in the wind is just heartbreaking. If any one has an idea for a remedy to recover our losses, please contact me. [protected] or by email bigpopparon@yahoo.com.

Mike Howell was a great help to us! He was very polite and explained the circumstances regarding his inability to service our windows do to the original manufacturer having gone out of business. The company that made the windows had a flaw in their production line that caused their window seals to fail, this led to that company's demise. Dixie tried to order glass for us from another company(at no charge to us), but there were so many affected customers, that Dixie was forced out of business as well. Mr. Howell was a great help to us and put us in contact with Paradise Home Improvement--they were able to fix our windows at half the price Glass Doctor had quoted us!

I also have a lifetime warranty with windows that have argon leaking. Dixie Homecrafters is out of business! Try calling any of the numbers, no answer or disconnected. They had come to my home to get window measurements for replacements and then quietly never came back and disconnected their numbers. Looking to see what legal action can be taken.
