Do not buy an extended car warranty from Direct Buy Warranty, firstly they charge your credit card from outside the US. Then when you call their customer service line, they don't even have an office and an answering service answers. I have asked for a refund and they haven't got back to me but I am disputing the charge through my credit card company.

They are a fly by night operation, don't get taken

Too late.. I have already become a victim! Someone needs to dosomething about this company from scaming people. I bought what they so called "warranty" back in July for $1700 something. After a month, my tranny broken down out of no where in lake tahoe during rafting trip. I had to spend $500 to tow the car back to repair shop. Later find Direct Buy Warrant doesn't even cover a DIME!!! I have been talking day & night with them, and have provided every maintainence record to them (tranny service every 2 years!!).. They just dont' cover it by saying they don't cover pre-existing condition~ Godsh~ How do you define pre-exisiting condition? My service shop where i don't my tranny told me everything was in good shape... But by direct warranty's standard, every car is going to have pre-exisitng condtion pass 10000 miels... if that's the case.. what's the point of buying that warranty??

Man.. Their customer service is the wosrt! I am so angry.. It took me at least 10~15 time to fax a single paper to them.. they kept on saying they didn't recieve in the fax... which i know they lie. This is the way of how they delay your claim.

Now.. their cancellation is driving me nuts... They will only refund 50% !!!... YES, that's right, 50% only... I paid 1700 that means i am only getting 850 back... I wasted $850 for getting NOTHING! NODA~ NOTHING~~

Be WARN!!! DO NOT TRUST THOSE PEOPLE! THEY ARE BUNCH OF CHEATERS; THEY DO NOTHING BUY TAKE MONEY AWAY FROM YOU!!!`

***** WARNNING WARNNING!

I just called them again to cancel and the first guy said that their office was closed last week because of a Jewish holiday and then when he put me through his manager, he says they were closed because of construction! So which is it? They then say that they won't take a customer back if they cancel and tell me that I can always cancel after I try them (they don't mention that after the 30 day period, I will only get a partial refund)

When I insist on canceling, I am put on hold for 15 min then told that I have to fax a cancellation form to them, which I have done.

The way a company handles cancellations is also a reflection of how they will deal with you when you have a policy and so far Direct Buy warranty has not shown me that they are an up and up company

My name is Samuel Hughes. I am Senior Customer Relations Manager at Direct Buy Warranty. I must say we are appalled by such false reports. We take these false reports against our excellent reputation and name seriously and when found to be false we will use every legal means available to pursue this matter. Please see my response.

CliffC reports not to buy from Direct Buy Warranty. He reports we charge outside the US and that we do not have an office or customer service. He also reports that he did not receive a refund from our company. First and foremost Direct Buy Warranty does have an office and a 24/7 CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE. Second, Direct Buy Warranty offers vehicle service contracts world wide. We offer this product in Europe as well. Depending on the time and which office bills you, it is possible your card will get charged outside of the US but of course makes no difference because you came to our company to purchase peace of mind, a Direct Buy Warranty Vehicle Service Contract. MOST IMPORTANTLY, YOUR REQUEST TO CANCEL WAS SUBMITTED AND YOUR REFUND WAS PROCESSED IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS. Later you come back to even post more information stating that our offices had been closed? you were on hold for 15 minutes each time you called? We were not closed as you see you did get through to a representative at one of our call centers. Unfortunately due to local construction outside our H.Q. our lines were cut and all calls were routed to our call center. As a company, the way we reflect to our customers is very important, We have been rated #1 in customer and claim satisfaction. I am not sure what prompted you to make this false report, but as it already has been looked into and shown to be false it will be pursued to the fullest extent.

Mr. bowbowx@*****.com aka BowBowx3000, You report that you have become a victim and that we scam people. I must say Mr. bowbowx@*****.com it is the opposite. You are the one who scammed and victimized Direct Buy Warranty. You purchased your vehicle service contract on 7/13/2010 and it started 8/12/2010. Only 4 days after your vehicle service contract started you filed a claim. Now i am not stating that there is a problem with filing a claim 4 days after your vehicle service contract has started but it does become a problem when only 4 days later you need a new transmission. As you may or may not understand this does raise a red flag and does get looked into for possible pre-existing conditions. Direct Buy Warranty is not here to fix problems you currently have nor is any extended contract company you or anyone else is look to have protect your vehicle. Our ASE Certified Mechanic team looked over your claim and maintenance records and determined that in just 4 days of your vehicle service contract being in effect there is no way that you would need a new transmission. It just does not happen in only 4 days. There were previous problems happening on the transmission prior to your vehicle service contract starting with Direct Buy Warranty. THIS DOES NOT MAKE US A SCAM NOR HAVE YOU BECOME A "VICTIM". In heinz site we have not cheated anybody nor have we cheated you. You have tried to cheat Direct Buy Warranty out of a new transmission which is illegal as you should know.

This place is a fraud. Warning to not buy from Direct Buy Auto Warranty. Their website shows the US Headquarters to be at:

402 Main Street Metuchen, NJ 08840

Check google maps top see this location:

http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=&q=402+Main+Street+Metuchen, +NJ+08840&rlz=1B3GGGL_en___US344&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=402+Main+St, +Metuchen, +NJ+08840&gl=us&ei=HhLUTLzBA4T6sAO3uLSNCw&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&ct=image&resnum=1&ved=0CBYQ8gEwAA

Zoom in to street view and you will see this address is some old run down office space for rent above a middle eastern restaurant. Looks like a perfect place for a scam company.

FRAUD ALERT! Directbuy is a FRAUD COMOPANY. You are promised everything and the contract even states covered parts but company will NOT pay out for any claims! DO NOT BUY From this company!!!

I purchased a warranty from them 6 months ago. My transfer case for the AWD sheered a gear. I took my car to the local mechanic and he filed the claim. Direct buy wanted my service records for the car ie. oil changes and so on. I explained that the oil changes have nothing to do with the transfer case and that you don't service the transfer case for my volvo and most other vehicles. I went ahead and faxed over what I have, being don't keep receipts and only owed the car for 14 months.

No one called me so I called Directbuy, they said my claim was denied even though its a covered part under the contract! I sat on the phone for 20min on hold waiting for a customer service rep. I hung up and call back and selected GET A Quote, some one answered right away! I was very angry at this point and explained that they want to sell you a warranty right away but they don't want service their customers, this is true. After arguing with a manager and explaining what I did above he said he would re submit the claim. I called my local Volvo deal and confirmed my statements reguarding serving the transfer case. When I called Direct buy their phone says they are CLOSED and their normal business hours are 9-6 EST Monday-Fri, and its only 2:30 on Friday. I'm Furious!!! Pass this on!

I agree, this very same thing happened to me. I was told that the mechanic told them that I had a pre existing condtion. I spoke to him, and he said no such thing, then their response was, "well we ran a carfax and it shows right there that this was a pre existing condition", wow what a joke, everyone know carfax does not have anything like this, nor do they want to. RUN don't walk away from this SCAM company. Check their BBB ratings, it is a D-, gee I wonder why???

I’ve also had a bad experience with Direct Buy Warranty. Since it happened, I’ve found out a lot which I wish that someone had told me before I bought from them. So, the least I can do is share what I’ve learned in the hope that it helps someone else.

Here are some problems with Direct Buy Warranty’s contracts:

• Section VII of their contract, under Mediation, limits Direct Buy Warranty’s losses in a mediation dispute to $1500. So, even if you deserve more in such a dispute, the most you’ll get from them is $1500.

• Under Section VIII Part A, the contract states that if a claim is made before the expiration of the 30 day/50 mile validation period, it will be denied as pre-existing. If a customer then cancels, $250 will be deducted from the refund, even if 30 days has not expired. Are you kidding me?

• Under Section VIII Part B, the contract states, “If You cancel this contract after the first thirty days or anytime after a claim has been filed on your VSC [vehicle service contract], WE will refund an amount of the contract price according to the pro-rata method which reflects the greater of the days in force or the miles driven based on the term of the contract selected and the date contract began, less fifty percent of the total amount paid in by You and any claims authorized or paid on the contract by Direct Buy Warranty where applicable by law [emphasis added].

• In the same Section and Part, the contract states, “In the event that the dollar amount of claim/claims paid for Your vehicle exceed the amount of Your refund (less fees), You will be responsible to reimburse the administrator.” That means that YOU have to pay THEM if you cancel and what you’ve paid is less than what they’ve paid in any claims! No one else does that.

• Direct Buy Warranty is selling in all 50 states, claims that they are insured, but their contracts give no evidence of carrying insurance. So, if they go out of business, good luck – all you’ve got is a piece of paper.

• That the terms of Direct Buy Warranty’s contracts are extraordinarily advantageous to Direct Buy Warranty at the expense of the consumer is evident. In addition, using publicly-available internet tools, I’ve learned that all of Direct Buy Warranty’s business addresses are actually UPS Stores! Their website lists their “European HQ” as:
EU Holdings;
Beletti Management Ltd.
Continental Risk Management CRM
Lordou Vyronos 33
Flat/Office 51
Larnaca P.C. 6023
Cyprus
This same location houses a pornography production company – unbelievable but true. Given what resides at their other addresses, there is strong evidence that Direct Buy Warranty is based outside of the United States – that is not a good thing. In a consumer complaint filed online, the customer notes that his credit card charged was processed in a foreign country.” According to another complaint online, a Direct Buy Warranty agent explained by saying that they are a “global company.”

Who is making sure that Direct Buy Warranty is abiding by all applicable laws, especially if they aren’t an American company?

If you’ve been scammed by Direct Buy Warranty like I have, then do what I did: Go to your state’s insurance commission. My state is looking into right now, and will probably find out what I already did the hard way, which is that they really aren’t a legitimate operation. Here’s a link to find your state’s insurance commission http://www.naic.org/state_web_map.htm Obviously, if you haven’t bought yet from Direct Buy Warranty – then DON’T – STAY AWAY!

If you are reading this run far away from this company as you can, this is a complete sham and a scam.

1. The play the fax game with you and say they never receive your faxes therefore send them email as well to info@directbuywarranty.com

2. They only have a couple of supposedly claim people there, they try to change there voice and etc. it is ridiculous.

3. Zach Harper is a scam, Terry Womack is a scam, Claim rep Alex is all a scam.

4. My vehicle dealership tried to contact them and they refused to speak to them.

5. I called on a conference call with my dealership service manager to get them all the information they requested, they hung up on us.

6. They basically used everything thing in there power to deny my claim and have me cancel the service. This was the most unprofessional service and situation I have ever been a part of. I got this contract in 2/2011 vehicle miles were 88k had a transmission failure at 94k and they didn't want to accept the claim...

7. Vehicle had all service records from dealership but they wouldn't allow the dealership to send them to them..saying it was my responsibility.

8. They try to block your number also, so use *67 when you call them...

Bottom line this company is completely unethical a scam and all the people who work there are part of this scam as well I am going to do everything I can to bring this company to the forefront of the better business bureau, the insurance claim organization and etc.

I have an auto repair shop and work with many after market warranty companies. I must say that this is "THE WORST WARRANTY COMPANY EVER!" I would never recommend for any of my customers to purchase there so called coverage. This customer of ours is pretty new to our repair shop and has kept good maintenance on his vehicle. His alternator went out on him about a month ago and Direct Buy Warranty tried to deny covering that repair. We argued and argued for a few days with them and finally they did cover it. But it was a very big headache to us and our customer. Now he has ball joints and a wheel bearing that have gone bad and they are claiming that this is neglect on our customers part and that they WILL NOT COVER THIS CLAIM! On our customers warranty papers it states that they will cover these parts, if it is in writting, why are they not covering them? THIS COMPANY IS A HUGE SCAM! All other after market warranty companies would send out an adjuster to take a look at the products that have failed on their customers vehicles and ok or deny them! IF THIS COMPANY WAS A REAL AFTER MARKET WARRANTY COMPANY THEY WOULD DO THE SAME! If you do not word things just right with them they will turn everything that you said into something that you did not say!!!
LIKE THE REST OF THE COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER PEOPLE "RUN FAR AWAY FROM THESE SCAMMERS" - DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY CUZ THEY WILL NOT GIVE YOU A PENNY OF THEIRS!!! I recommend AUL Warranty!

My VSC # is 443340 I purchased a Platinum Elite package in March on 2011 for a 2001 Mercedes BEZ S600. @ 79000 Miles on the Car. With FULL MAINTANCE RECORD OR EVERY OIL CHANGE AND SERVICE PERFORMED ON HAND> 1 year and 3 months later I notice Smoke coming out of my undercarege and the front of the Engine. I stopped and had called the tow truck and had the car sent to Mercedes Benz of Naperville, In ILLINOIS. After the Diagnosis, they found out the OIL COOLER HOUSING, is defective, hence leaking OIL, also found that universal Disc needs to be replaced, Cable wiring, 2 engine mounds, 2 strut bushings, Left front Lower ball joint, Truck hydraulic pump, and truck lace needs to be repaired or replaced. Truck Latch and 2 strut front bushings are not covered in the Plan. But everything else is. The Mechanics and service advisors have submitted the WO to DirectBuyautowarranty. 3 days later the warranty company calls me back and says that they said that due to neglect they will not cover any of my claims.SAM SMITH OR SAM EDWARDS Mentioned that wear and tear is not covered. OIL cooler housing is not a wear and tear item. The only wear and tear items are Truck latch and 2 strut busing... SAM EDWARD would not transfer my call to any one and mentioned it stops at him. They will not cover any thing. Due to me not taking action on these issues. I am not a mechanic; I take my car in the dealership every time for Service A and B and depend on them for the diagnosis, once they tell me I FIX the problem. I have all the previous repaired records of all the service work that I performed and what the factory warranty covered. SAM EDWARD “Fake NAME" Denied that they have an office outside of USA. There corp. office is in CYPRUS. He told me that he does not know what I am talking about. He had no Names to give for Supervisors and kept telling me like I was a fault for all of this. THIS COMPANY IS SCAM>>>>> IF THERE IS ANYONE OUT THERE THAT CA HELP ME WITH THEM PLEASE CONTACT ME @ atif.sidd23@gmail.com. I will be more that happy to take some sort of action against this injustic. ALSO THEY HAVE A Tendency OF CHARGING your account double, which I records for as well. Looking for answers!!

Does anyone know how I can reach Kirk Moore. It's amazing that when we were purchasing a policy you could reach him. Now that we are trying to cancel they are telling us we only purchased a two year plan when we purchased a three year plan (still have the paperwork to show).I keep getting the run around, in fact they will not even transfer me to the last person I spoke with. They try to make you feel like you don't know what you are talking about. It is crazy. We are now looking to get a lawyer. BEWARE OF DIRECT BUY!!! By the way this is just a drop in the bucket

THIS COMPANY IS TRULY A FRAUD!!! THEY LIVE OFF THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS THAT STATES THAT THEY WILL NOT HONOR "PREEXISTING" CONDITIONS BUT IN NO WAY HAVE NO TRUE WAY OF CONFIRMING WHETHER OR NOT A CONDITION IS/WAS PREEXISTING-DESPITE THE COMPLAINTS FOUND ONLINE AND ON SEVERAL SITES, (ALWAYS LISTEN TO YOUR INNER VOICE) I PURCHASED A WARRANTY FROM THEM ANYWAY-MY CAR IS 6 YEARS OLD AND ONLY HAS 71777 MILES ON IT WHICH IS IN LINE WITH THE ALLOTTED ANNUAL MILES-I HAVE KEPT MY CAR IN PRISTINE CONDITION SINCE IT WAS PURCHASED IN 2010 AND ALWAYS HAD "ON TIME" CHECK UPS THAT ARE DOCUMENTED FROM THE DEALERSHIP, PLUS THE CAR WAS STILL UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR BECAUSE OF THE LOW MILES -MY CAR WAS 210 MILES PASSED ITS NEXT OIL CHANGE WHEN I NOTICED THAT IT WAS LEAKING ANTI FREEZE-I SCHEDULED A OIL CHANGE & TIRE ROTATION AND ASKED THAT THE DEALERSHIP CHECK THE LEAK-FOUND OUT THAT THE LEAK WAS NEEDING A WATER PUMP AND SOME OTHER (COVERED UNDER WARRANTY) MAINTENANCE THAT ADDED UP TO ABOUT 1200.00-THE DEALERSHIP CALLED DIRECTBUY AND "SURPRISE" THEY SAID IT WAS A "PRE-EXISTING" CONDITION-THE SAME LINE THEY SEEM TO GIVE EVERY CUSTOMER WHEN THEY DON'T WANT TO HONOR A WARRANTY-I ASKED DID THEY REQUEST ANY DOCUMENTATION FROM THE DEALERSHIP TO COME TO THAT PERCEPTION FROM A NON-TECH CALL CENTER REPRESENTATIVE AND OF COURSE THEY DID NOT BECAUSE IT DID'NT MATTER! THEY ALSO STATED THAT IT WAS ONLY 6 DAYS OR SO THAT MY WARRANTY WAS ACTIVE, WHICH IS IRRELEVANT WHEN YOU HAVE DEEMED YOURSELVES AS HONORABLE! I FIND THAT THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM AND I AM NOT SURPRISE THAT THEY ARE NOT EVEN APART OF THE BBB. I CAUTION ANYONE WANTING TO PURCHASE A EXTENDED WARRANTY OUTSIDE OF THE DEALERSHIP-I HAVE GLADLY PAID THE DEALERSHIP 1200.00 PLUS TO FIX MY CAR AND WOULD GLADLY PAY ANY REPAIR AMOUNT THAN PAY A COMPANY NOT WORTHY OF ANYONE'S BUSINESS!!! I IMMEDIATELY CANCELLED MY CONTRACT AND THEY CAN KEEP THE 330.00 PLUS DOLLARS I PAID TOWARD THE DEPOSIT AND PRORATED 1ST MONTH, APPARENTLY THAT IS HOW THEY MAKE THEIR MONEY IS BY YOUR DEPOSITS!!! IN ADDITION, IF THE CONTRACT OR INSURANCE TELLS YOU THAT THEY DECLINE ANY PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS "DO NOT PURCHASE" UNLESS THEY SEND SOMEONE TO CHECK OUT YOUR CAR OR EVEN YOUR HEALTH-THEY WILL DENY YOU WHEN THEY THINK YOU NEED THEM-BUT SURPRISE TO THEM I DON'T NEED YOU! I AM BETTER THAN BLESS!

My water pump failed on my vehicle. I had purchased the warranty two and half years ago and when i filed my claim it was denied based on a technical bulletin issued by BMW that stated that when a water pump is replaced it must be bled which has nothing to do with the pump failure. The customer service was great when purchasing the policy but horrible when filing a claim. I am very disappointed.

SCAM SCAM SCAM!!! No joke, this company is the worst I've ever dealt with. My transmission went out and I had it towed to a local mechanic. DBW sent out their own "inspector" to look at my transmission. It took them almost two weeks to get there. They would only cover one small part. My total was $3100. DBW was only going to cover $600. Wen I called to ask why only a small amount the people were extremely rude and one person, Mitchell Nelson, even hung up on me and told me to call back. This was because I told him I was recording the conversation. I had to authorize a tear down of the transmission at my cost. Reading their contract, it clearly states that "in the event that a non-covered part causes or contributes to the breakdown, there is no coverage under this contract to reimburse you or pay for the cost of tear down"
Anyone with common sense would take that as a covered part would be covered. WRONG!!! This guy tells me, "sir where in the contract does it say that it WOULD be covered".
I really hope everyone does some serious research before they buy a BS contract with this horrible company. I went off the reviews for their website. I should've known better. I lost out on a lot of money, hopefully I can prevent someone else from making the same mistake..
DO NOT BUY A WARRANTY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!

SCAM! Don't use Direct Buy. I purchased a warranty for a vehicle that I was making a deal on with a salesman. I paid $300 dollars over the phone. The deal fell through for that vehicle that I was initially trying to purchase. Instead I bought a different vehicle a day later. I tried to called several times and also e-mail the sales rep for Direct Buy to make the necessary changes to my policy. After two weeks of trying to get them to change the warranty to the actual car I purchased, I had to go to the bank and have all charges reversed. The reference number that is listed for bank transaction goes straight to an answereing service. Once they get your money they disappear. Be CAREFUL!

Same as everyone esle says. Deny deny deny, there has got to be a way to get these turds back. I have been denied on 3 out of 4 claims. On the smallest claim i have had, they payed about 75% of the 425$ bill, because they googled the part and it should have been cheaper than the mechanic was charging. So I had to pay the rest..on a 0$ deductible platnum plus warranty...which is the best they had. Deny everything else due to blah blah blah. When they sell it they tell you everything you want to here " as good as factory, just doesnt cover wear and tear" or interior electrical, or anything with corrosion on it, or anything they think is to expensive... FA Q DBW. Sincerely,

Eric Meesseman

Direct Buy Warranty: They are the worst company in the entire warranty business! I don't know how it is that some government agency or even a law firm is not already pursuing this company in court. They are in the business of robbing customer by selling false claims of that they'll cover your vehicle from "bumper to bumper" when in fact they cover only the parts that are known not to break or damage and if those break they cover only 60% of the repair costs. No or little labor cost, or after market parts, and no rental vehicle is all they'll do for you if they decide to do anything at all. I would like to know if there is a class action law suit in the works or a government investigation into the workings of this company. Simply put no one, I mean no one, should purchase anything from this company!
