I too am having difficulty in canceling my membership, I called them, they told me it was cancelled and this month the charges again are appearing on my credit card.
I have called several times for cancellation to CIC Triple advantage and have been told that it would be cancelled only to find it on my bank statement each month. Why is everyone elses monthly payment $12.95 and they are taking out $29.00 each month from me? How can this be sop? Can anyone give me a workable solution?
I also am at battle with CIC Triple advantage. I have called and emailed to have them stop charging, each time they send some BS email stating "they are sorry to see me go" and that I will no longer be charged. However the next month the same 12.95 charge shows up on my account. What are we, as consumers, supposed to do about this? How can this company be allowed to continuesly rip people off like this. If anyone has any suggestions on how to make this company and its charges go away, please let me know.
I searched them on the Better Business Bureau. They have had 2415 complaints, not to mention several law suits against them in the last 36 months. Somehow they managed to still score a 'B' though.
Unfortunately, for most of you, they have managed to cover themselves by putting a huge clause in their terms and conditions, as well as making it front page news that when you sign up for your free credit report, you are enrolling in a trial of Triple Advantage.
The good news, their terms and conditions also include the following:
'Should you choose to discontinue your membership for any reason before expiration of the then applicable membership term for which you have paid, you may cancel your membership and terminate further billing by calling the toll-free number listed on this Web Site.' The number listed is: 1.888.888.8553
So, if you have called to cancel and they bill you again, they are breaking federal and state law. If you are planning to call in the future, get the full name, extension, title, whatever information you can from the person you get in contact with. Also tell them they need to send you an email immediately with the cancellation notice. If they refuse, sue the ever-living crap out of them, because they are not allowed to deny giving you proof of termination of a contract in writing under any circumstance. Once you have your proof, if your credit card is charged again, hire yourself an attorney and take them down.

Today I made two more phone calls to CIC. I had called twice before to try and cancel my membership. Each time I called I was told there was additional information on my report that could be possible fraud. Today when I called, the first person said there were ten additional changes on my report that could be fraud. I called back after checking out my report and was told by a different operator that there were six additional changes to my report. Now my question is, if they were really monitoring my report shouldn't I have been notified about these so called changes? After repeating myself several times I finally convinced them to cancel my membership, which I thought was canceled twice already, and I made them give me a cancellation conformation number. I then called my credit card company to inform them that there should be no more charges from this company. These people are the worst. They don't listen, they tell you lies and worst of all these incompetent idiots have access to everyone's personal information who signs up with them. They're the one's who should be monitored.
CiC Triple Advantage, have been charging my account for several months now. I do not use there service and I have been unable to cancel the service when I call the number the provide is not in service. I never gave them my account information. I don't work and I can't stop the payment, if I do the bank will charge me for it.
I would appreciate it they you can have them stop taking money from my account.
I am a victim of this scam also. I did not sign onto any thing to do with cic triple advantage. I just tried to get a FREE credit report as advertised. This is outrageous and I intend to do something about it. I will not be charged for something I don't want or need and that I supposedly CAN"T STOP. Good luck folks. If enough of us complain, something has to be done.
I signed my boyfriend up for this service assuring him that we could cancel it before the free trial period was up. The web site failed to say that cancellations have to be done over the phone which is sometimes impossible for someone who works a full day.
Thank you for the information regarding the false charges. I am in the process of cancelling my membership as well. This should be illegal. Why do they make it so difficult to cancel?
I just spoke with a rep and they were trying to get me to get yet another report emailed to me so that they could have me order another membership. THEN when i stated i wasn't interested they told me to call back in 3 days.
I asked to speak to a supervisor and got the corporate ID # of an Allen which was 15623 and he stated he had cancelled me. I have not received the email stating it is cancelled yet... but i tried to log into the site and it is saying that i need to reorder, which tells me my access is done. I was given a cancellation number as well. We will see next month if I continue to be billed. If so, I will lose it! Thanks all for your input. Oh by the way, it seemed to get some leverage when I mentioned this site and the BRB feedback to the supervisor. So try that when you call to cancel.
It's been 4 months and these people keep taking money out of my account. First it was $12.90 and then just recently it was 25.90 and this is every 2 weeks. I called them and sent emails they sent me a email back saying they sorry to see me go thats bs because they still taking money out of my account. I did talk with a agent got her name and number then she told me she was having problems with the system that i should call back in a hour, then i called back another agent told me to call back in a hour, so finally i called again now this time the agent couldn't hear me her phone was not acting right. I would like to know if anyone has anything on how to get this stopped pls let me know.
My husband used their service one time AND CANCELLED before the 30 day limit. They won't stop charging my c.c. account. I am closing the account as there is not other way to get them to stop!
For anyone using cic triple advantage call your credit card or bank let them know your situation and DO NOT ALLOW these transactions apply to your account that will not be responsible for them i canceled my credit card and was issued a new account. Believe me credit cad issues do not want to lose you as a customer! Good luck!
I noticed on my last credit card statement a charge of around $12 for CIC triple advantage. I was trying to get my annual free credit report and ended up with this, with no recollection of signing up for it. I found freecreditreport.com's phone number its 1-877-481-6825 and canceled my account. I received an email confirmation of cancellation but I got the reps name and confirmation number from her before we hung up anyway. Expect them to try and keep your business with 5 minute long sales pitches, I suggest putting the phone down and doing something else until they stop and just keep saying no thanks. Good luck and spread the word of the scam!
