I thought i was signing up for a free credit report and now for 3 months they have been charging my bank account almost $20.00. I do not use it and feel I should get my money back. I cannot even find a phone number or even a contact me or an e-mail. I do not have the money for it and I do not even use it. Like i said i thought i was getting my one time free credit report.

Beware!

Last month I went to freecreditreport.com and I received my credit report. Now there is a charge of $12.95 from cic triple advantage in my credit card. I would like to know why I have been charged for free credit report. Somebody, please send me an e-mail and let me know the reason or put my money back into my credit card. Thank you.

The same thing happened to me. I went to freecreditreport.com once last month and now I got charged $12.95. I think I'll call Visa and tell them contest the charge. Congratulations freecreditreport.com! You're one of many gutless web sites who's managed to ruin consumers opinions of online services by hiding charges being dishonest.

Way to go guys!

I just noticed that a $12. 00 charge was being deducted from checking account. This started in November of 2006. In fact there were two separate deductions of $12.00 each for November, December. There was also an additional $12.00 deduction in January of 2007.

When I called the number that appeared on my bank statement, the agent by the name of Lucy said that she needed my card number. She stated that she could see the record of single deductions but could not see that deductions were twice for the month of November and December. I advised her that I did authorized any automatic deductions from my checking account. She said that she would cancel the deductions and credit my checking account in the amount of $36.00. I asked to speak to a supervisor or manages and was told none was available. I then asked for a phone number and was told there was no phone number available. I informed Lucy that this was not acceptable customer service. At this point she gave me a mailing address in Irvine CA.

The only sure way to STOP these unauthorized Credit or Debit Card charges is to get a new replacement Credit or Debit Card and destroy the old one. That is the ONLY way to stop these charges. It doesn't matter how many times to call, email or whatever, they will keep hitting your account with these charges every month until you cancel the card. I've called and cancelled (for four months now) with CIC Triple Advantage and they tell me it's cancelled and then the next month the charge is there again. Cancel your card and it will stop!

I signed up to receive a "free credit report" for my husband and myself. Go figure that they charge two different credit cards that I used to "verify my identity". It's such a small amount on both cards that I didn't notice it at first. Which I think they HOPE for. Anyway, total charges are almost $100. They talk about protecting your identity but I've paid more in three months to have someone "protect" me than I ever had for fraudulent charges! If it's free... it should be FREE...

It has been almost 14 mths and i have contacted the company cic triple advantage and they told me i checked some box at the bottom of the page after i received my freecredit report. I have asked them to quit taking it out. They have just again taken it out of my checking and on top of that i never know when they are going to take it out. Plus i keep getting 2 charges of 25.00 for each transaction because there is no money in for it. But of course they let it go through because it is a debit from a company. I want it to stop and nothing i have done or said to these people is making them stop. I want to know how they keep doing this. I can't even sign in to even check what they said they are charging me for. I have tried after i contacted them and it says i dont' have access to that. My subscription has expired so how am i still getting charged for it. I want it to stop and if it dont' i will contact a lawyer and let them finally get what they deserve.

Just want to say watch out for anything that has this company's name on it. I'm being charged for credit monitoring, a service I don't want, use, and didn't sign up for. I have yet to figure out how to get the charges off of my credit card!

I too agree with the posted comments concerning 'free credit report'. Why claim to give someone a free report and then charge them for months for services that have been canceled. This is nothing but a "scam". This is the third month that I've been charged for a service that was canceled the same day I received my credit report. I will be canceling my card.

I asked for a free credit report, which I never received, and apparently have been charged monthly through my bank. How can I get out of this? I can't find a number or e-mail to get it cancelled.

Signed up for a free credit report...didn't get the report and now I'm being charged monthly fee.

I don't understand why the CIC Triple advantage is charging me $12.95 for service I did not receive. I never asked them to send me a credit report but I keep being charged. I tried to get their customer service number to inquire about it, but in vain. They should stop ripping me off, and they should return back my money.

I have notice that CIC has been deducting $12every month from my account. I did not know who they were. I finally called my bank to find out who they were. I got the number from my bank to call them and it ended up being a fax #. I don't have a good number for them. I am going to feel out a form with my bank to stop these charges. I only wanted my free credit report. This is so wrong. I had forgotton all bout CIC. They have not emailed me to even remind about checking my credit report. They didn't forget to go into my account to take my money. They know that people only want their free report. This is a rip off. I want my money back.

I received a second charge of $12.95 on my credit card. I looked up CIC Triple Advantage on the internet and called their customer service department. They informed me that this charge does NOT show up in their computer. They informed me that they did not put this charge on my credit card. They proceeded to ask me for my Social Security number, my address, my mother's maiden name and my entire credit card number. This entire situation seems to be nothing short of an attempt at identity theft.

Same thing is happening to me. May be if we all gather our resources we can nail these thiefs. I will cancel my credit card today.

Yup, same thing happened to me. In December 2006, i signed up to get my FREE report. I have been charged for 2 months now and just got off the phone to my bank. They will mark this as disputed (but so far I'm still being charged for the last two months) and the only way to stop this is to get a new card. There has got to be a legal remedy for this situation! It is such a scam!!! I'm already trying to clear up an old identity theft situation which is one of the reasons I was looking up my credit to begin with. ARrrgh!

I signed up for a free credit report which was supposed to be free for the first month and just for trying it. I cancelled the trial before the month was over so I wouldn't get charge now I'm being charge 12.00 a month for a membership that I dont even have or use.

I cleared 6 months of these fraudulent charges by telling American Express that there was no valid number on the statement (one number short) to cancel with CIC, they reversed the charges without question, obviously they know!

This is one for the California State attorneys office.

My credit cad has been charged three times without my approval.
507 days ago by Alika707 [send email]
Here's how you stop it:

Call your bank and tell them what's up. As it turns out, my bank (Wells Fargo) already knows about this. They will report your card lost or stolen and this is the ONLY way to stop the charges. Then, your bank will file a dispute for you and you should get a reimbursement in 10- 15 days or so. We got screwed out of about $100!!!

I searched them on the Better Business Bureau. They have had 2415 complaints, not to mention several law suits against them in the last 36 months. Somehow they managed to still score a 'B' though.

Unfortunately, for most of you, they have managed to cover themselves by putting a huge clause in their terms and conditions, as well as making it front page news that when you sign up for your free credit report, you are enrolling in a trial of Triple Advantage.

The good news, their terms and conditions also include the following:

'Should you choose to discontinue your membership for any reason before expiration of the then applicable membership term for which you have paid, you may cancel your membership and terminate further billing by calling the toll-free number listed on this Web Site.' The number listed is: 1.888.888.8553

So, if you have called to cancel and they bill you again, they are breaking federal and state law. If you are planning to call in the future, get the full name, extension, title, whatever information you can from the person you get in contact with. Also tell them they need to send you an email immediately with the cancellation notice. If they refuse, sue the ever-living crap out of them, because they are not allowed to deny giving you proof of termination of a contract in writing under any circumstance. Once you have your proof, if your credit card is charged again, hire yourself an attorney and take them down.
