Best Choice Roofing In Raleigh review: Whole process during and after installation

On 10/27/14 a coordinator for Best Choice Roofing Company in Raleigh, Tom (First name), sent his workers to my house for roofing installation. The workers were supposed to arrive at my house that morning but they did not show up. I had to make several phone calls to Tom regarding the appointment, and the workers finally arrived at 12:30 pm. I did not expect them to finish the job on Monday, and knew they would have to return the next day. However, I did not expect them to leave their trash truck in my driveway overnight, and this was never communicated to me by either Tom or the workers. I was blocked in my driveway overnight and could not leave my home. I was forced to cancel a scheduled appointment that night due to the trash truck blocking my driveway. I made several calls to Tom but never received a call back or response.

On 10/28, the workers returned but were unable to complete the roofing job due to lack of shingles. Tom called on 10/28 and told me that he had placed an order for the shingles and that the workers would be able to fully complete the job the next day. This did not happen, in fact my roof was not completed until Wednesday, 11/5; a more than a week after the first visit.

During the days between the date the shingles were ordered and received, we experienced heavy rain in the area, and my roof was only covered with plastic. I was told that it MAY not have any damage due to the covering. I would not have t his risk if the job was completed as promised and if the roofers had sufficient materials. It angers me even more that Tom failed to place the order for the additional shingles on 10/28, the day he told me he ordered them, but instead didn’t order them until 2 days later on 10/30.

After the installation, the workers failed to perform a cleaning job to remove the residue from my gutters and driveway. I had to clean the dirt from the old shutters from my gutters on my own, and use a blower to blow the dirt from my driveway. There is still a huge stain from the dirt in my driveway that I have been unable to efficiently remove. .

I am truly frustrated, disappointed and dissatisfied with the service I received from Best Choice Roofing. During this job I experienced late arrivals, a blocked driveway, heavy rains with protection only by plastic, and a coordinator who provided inaccurate and misleading information. The BCR coordinator, Tom, did not take a valid measurement and did not order enough shingles to complete the job. With all the issues and problems with this job he failed to show remorse, and did he even try to show any care for my home, my property or my roof. .
